This is one of only TWO actual” good-eats” restaurants in the flushing area. Price is fair and food and service exemplery. Don’t forget it’s(Sorrentos) there, just because it’s a slight-bit“out-of-town. I get«ta-droolin & I get hungry’ just thinking about the place. Very good Italian cuisine, but also a full menue, all good. RJM

I’ve never had anything I like as an entrée here and have eaten here on multiple occasions. The red sauce is just bland and gross to me. The only thing I usually like is their salad.

My first few trips to Sorrentos were wayyyy back when it was still a deli/bakery combo. I’m always on the lookout for fresh bread, and Sorrentos has some good stuff. Since they renovated to a sit-down style establishment, my visits have been pretty sparse — not because I don’t like the food, but more because it wasn’t the grab-a-loaf-and-go that I was used to. That said, I really like that they commit to fresh ingredients(my veggie lasagna had mushrooms that did not come from a can, and it did not go unnoticed!). They still serve their own bread with all the meals, so that’s a plus. Not sure if you can still buy it by its lonesome. As another Unilocaler mentioned, the portions are huge, and the full sizes are just a dollar or two more. Definitely up the size to maximize leftovers!

It’s Flushing’s only Italian restaurant but I think you can find better Italian! It’s ok and their environment is nice and good for big groups but this is definitely a restaurant I could live without but, most people don’t agree with me on this so maybe it’s just me. There’s just other restaurants who serve italian i prefer in the Flint area.

Recently, I attended a birthday party at Sorrento’s italian restaurant. Normally, I have pretty low expectations for most restaurants in the Flint/Flushing area and definitely for italian cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised. First and foremost, our server was amazing. He was always coming to the table to see if anyone needed anything. We had small children and he made special effort to get their food out first. Drinks were always full and every detail was taken care of. I think this level of service is rare nowadays and I think it made everything seem better. The food was standard italian pasta fare. I had a deluxe lasagna which was excellent. Their meat sauce was thick and flavorful without being a gut buster. Others at the table ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Fettucini Alfredo, and other pasta dishes that looked excellent. Dinner is a little expensive but includes a small dinner salad and bread. I think this place could be 5 star if they used local or fresh baked bread and maybe a more flavorful salad green for the salad. The fried mushroom appetizer was also very good and made fresh(not frozen from a bag) Sorrento’s was a surprising gem in the desert of restaurant options near by.

I’ve been to Sorrentos several times for lunch but today I decided to give it a try for dinner. I walked in to busy restaurant. The décor was very pleasing and is well kept. Even though it was busy we were greeted and seated promptly. The service was good and the food was even better. I had the supreme lasagna and it ranks right up there with any Italian food I’ve had in the area.

Great little Italian joint. Clean and quaint, the dishes my colleague and I had were very good. The Gucci was excellent as was the Reuben sandwich. Even the side salad was delicious with mozzarella cubes and tasty dressing. Would definitely recommend!

Great Italian food. Sorrentos has been a staple in the Flint area for a long time. I shared the medium crust pizza with ham and onions. It was delicious! We also tried and liked the garlic sticks. The appetizers are ½ priced fairly frequently. Nice atmosphere, not too dark but cozy.
