I seldom take the time for a manicure and pedicure. But after 10 days of intense activity in New York, I felt I needed some pampering. Because of the weather I got to the airport early and imagine my surprise to find an XpresSpa right there in LGA terminal C next to the AA Admiral’s club. Went right in, Lee was able to give me the best manicure and pedicure I have received in a long time! I did ask to go to the side for privacy and peaceful comfort(away from the passengers walking by). Regarding the price, it was in line with the quality of service I received. Well worth my time and money. My hands and feet still look beautiful after almost 2 weeks.

How to Entertain Yourself in an Airport 101 LaGuardia is not a very large airport, so being stuck there leaves you with limited entertainment options beyond your laptop. Boredom led me to blow a decent chunk of change in XpresSpa. The cutesy spelling should have been a red flag. The people working there, giving manicures, facials, etc. were very nice. The massage chairs are relaxing. I spent way too much on 2 mediocre manicures for myself and step-daughter, but whatever, it was nice to kick back and relax for an hour in a seat that didn’t stink. The two managers, receptionists(whatever their titles) were not really very nice. This is a small place mind you, but they did not really speak nicely to the employees. In fact, the younger one was down right rude to the lady doing my nails right in front of me. Hey, don’t upset my lady when she is snipping on my cuticles please!!!

There are people who like to get to the airport early. I’m not one of those people. On the occasion that I do get to the airport early, I think about that one last thing I would have had time to do if I wasn’t at the airport. Like getting my eyebrows done, for example. I got to LaGuardia extremely early a few weeks ago, had an event to go to when I landed and thought I could circumvent the aforementioned«early penalty» when I saw that XpresSpa was already open and the wax was hot. Yeah, instead of having them done at one of the MANY celebrity praised salons while I had plenty of time and access in NYC, I had them done at an airport in Flushing. I’m nervous about eating the sushi at an airport, but I was willing to give someone the opportunity to temporarily disfigure my face with hot wax. The good news is her efforts were barely noticeable. The bad news is her efforts were barely noticeable.

Nothing like getting a massage while waiting for a connection. Though the cost is quite high, it can be worth it if you are really tense.
