I would not eat a steak problably because having a steak with a plastic knife is terrible, but had eggs for breakfast and it was pretty good. Service was fast and the place was nice and clean. I would try it again, although I don’t fly a lot from terminal D

You might think you’re on Candid Camera in this place because the service is so awful it’s almost unbelievable. I can’t comment on the food because we left before we got anything. A waiter approached us pretty quickly, pointed at us(said nothing) then brought us menus. He came back in a few minutes, pointed again and we ordered coffee and food. He left and proceeded to take more orders, got some people coffee, then went over to the order entry screen. We watched him for seven minutes as he struggled over entering things. After 17 minutes(I timed it, I’m a little uptight) I went over and asked if we could at least get the coffee. He showed me what looked like a list of hieroglyphics and spoke his first words…“I gotta put these in”. At that point, we went next door, got bagels and coffees in under 9 minutes. This place is the cable TV of airport dining. They almost have a monopoly so they can cruelly mock your hunger and you’re nearly powerless against it. So, not wanting to appear impotent, I got my food elsewhere and recommend that you, your children and your children’s children dine elsewhere. Rant over. Have a great day!

I agree with everybody about prices, but you are at an airport. I had the Sweet and Spicy burger and it was not bad. Our server, Krystal, was very personable and efficient. Yeah, I had a $ 40 lunch(including three beers), but if your hungry or you have to kill time when your flight is cancelled, enjoy a decent burger.

Agree with the very first to review! This place sucked! Go have a donut or a greasy slice of pizza. The mister and I grabbed breakfast here because we wanted to get away from the chaos of LGA. We were in the midst of the stranded travelers crisis when the first winter snowstorm came to NYC right after Christmas. The famous snowstorm that dumped over 2 feet of snow, the sanitation department plow trucks were no where to be seen, and when Mayor Bloomberg went on tv saying that the city is ready to be back in business and come see a Broadway show! Yes — that snowstorm! The mister and I seated ourselves at a table. The waitress saw us and didn’t even came by to give menus, ignore us. The last straw was when another customer came in and asked where to be seated. She said, anywhere and gave him a menu. The mister’s blood boiled and saw two open seats at the bar. We quickly moved there and were promptly served by the bartender. He was so cool and quickly took our order. I ordered the veggie omelet and the mister got steak and eggs. Food came and it is totally mediocre. Omelet is just okay but the worst of it was the hubby’s steak and this is suppose to be a those upscale steak places. So tasteless, OMG it made me want to grab a salt shaker! Prime Tavern is one of new restaurant initiative for upscale dining in airports. I want to tell mgmt for Prime that you failed big time. Not only your steak stinks so does this upscale dining plan. This place was packed but that does not mean that service can go downhill especially when there prices at $ 15 for hamburger and $ 42 for steaks. Skip this place and head to a fast food stand.

Prime Tavern is located in Laguardia Airport’s Delta Terminal. As a friend said, starvation takes several days to set in. Unless you arrived from the desert you can avoid this place and be just fine. Burgers are $ 14 – 16. NY Strip is $ 42. The burger was a major disappointment. I’ve had food in the United Kingdom that has more flavor and costs less. Even with guacamole, tomatoes, and spicy jalapeño jack cheese it was very boring. The $ 7 side of various sauteed mushrooms added flavor to the burger, but now you have $ 23 burger that is only mildly satisfying. A dry rub on the meat would help out a lot here. If you’re in the Delta Terminal going to the pizza joint, getting a slice of pizza and a bottle of water for around $ 10 is a much better deal.
