Oh my. Breathtakingly BLAND and bad. I approached the food court with such high hopes. It looked all modern, hip, touch screen self-service ordering, lots of options. Noodle soup. Here in La Guardia in Flushing New York, where you get arse-kicking Chinese food. I was hoping that the great vibrant spirit of mighty fine Chinese food had seeped into the effort here at the airport. Surely. New Yorkers don’t put up with much crap food, even in their airports – that’s what I always hope – that New Yorkers sensibilities and demanding standards affect everything and separate the wheat from the chaff for me. But, while that is true for a lot of food outlets, that formidable New Yorker discrimination and the great spirit of might fine Chinese food have abandoned LaGuardia like yesterday’s undies. The broth smelled like they had soaked an unplucked chicken carcass in it for a bit before deciding it had steeped enough to support a huge wad of possibly the worst noodles I’ve ever eaten and about four chunks of boingy carrots and three enormous, tasteless snow pea pods. How did they get those veggies to look fresh and bright and taste so bland and bad? Maybe they just 3-D printed the food? I just can’t go on. It is too painful. Just don’t do it. Go forage around the cashier stand for a packet of Jason’s single serve maple butter. Take that over to world bean and get a delicious, not too sweet bread pudding and a cup of earl grey.

The dumplings are still okay, but I agree the soup was extremely disappointing. The broth is just hot water, and the noodles are certainly frozen. Bring back McDonald’s. It would be a big improvement. Artichoke pizza is much better!

Wish I could give no stars. I had the soup and dumplings in the pictures and although the dumplings were ok, I think the broth for the soup actually stripped flavor from the veggies. I think the broth is just colored water, it and the rice noodles had no taste at all. Guess that is better than no taste but I would have a slice of pizza to the left if I were you.
