Pretty good place! I ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket. It comes with 2 hush puppies, popcorn shrimp, a corn fritter, and your choice of side. I got fries as my side. It was $ 9.99+ tax. It was extremely satisfying. I couldn’t finish my fries. You get a great amount of popcorn shrimp which were nicely seasoned. The fries were just fries, nothing special. The hushpuppies were the best ones I’ve had during my trip here. The corn fritter looked exactly like one of the popcorn shrimp, but luckily my boyfriend pointed it out. It was SO good! I wish they gave you more than one! I overheard my boyfriend’s father say that his burger was really good. He said that it was well seasoned. If I ever come back to Gulf Shores, I wouldn’t mind coming back to Shrimp Basket.

The food here was so good. I had no idea what to order as there was so many options. I finally decided on Red Beans & Rice w/Conecuh Sausage and it was delicious. We also got the coconut shrimp and fried oysters. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waitress was very attentive and had a lot of good stuff to say. I really wish I could remember her name as I would give her a really good commendation. We went here this past Sunday and it is really a nice place. You can sit inside or outside(we chose inside) and its decorated really nicely. The food came out really fast and was hot.

We waited 30+ minutes ask for a server. Finally server came out she was nice except for the distracting star tattoo on her face. She did as much as she was capable off. Smoked tuna dip = can of StarKist and bunch of Mayo. Raw oysters were warm, Miller light & coke were flat… List goes on & on. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money. Manager should be fired for not coming out to table to support waitstaff. If I owned this restaurant today would be managers last day. Horrible experience & we won’t be back!

Best fried pickles and corn fritters around! The fried chicken and fried fish baskets are both great, as well as their sweet tea. We have been to the Gulf Shores location and food is just as good, however we prefer Foley for less crowds. We order to go often and its always ready in about 10−15min, great food!

Now although the food was good, we sat outside where there was a failed attempt to clean up prior to seating us. There was so much trash, we had to ask to be moved inside. The table inside was better but our service went down hill from there. I frequently visit The Shrimp Basket in Evergreen, Alabama and the service there is always Good.

This is not my favorite place around, nor is it my least favorite. It’s simply mediocre seafood. We ate at this location again yesterday, and it pretty much was the same as I remember from the only other time I’ve been there. We started with the smoked tuna dip. It was real tuna and the dip had a good flavor. The presentation was lackluster. I had the mahi tacos and green beans on the side. Odd combination, I know. I was looking for something semi-healthy and green beans were pretty much the only choice for the side. The mahi tacos were blah. They were edible, but didn’t wow me. It’s hard to screw up mahi tacos. The hubs had shrimp étouffée and he said it was pretty good. My sister in law had shrimp and cheese grits, which didn’t look bad, but I’m super picky about my shrimp and grits. Their fried seafood was average on my previous visit. The prices are decent and the service is great. Honestly, there are much better seafood restaurants in the area. This is a good option if you’re in Foley and in a hurry.

Went there on a Saturday night and they were real busy. However; the 30 minute wait was well worth it. The shrimp étouffée was the best I had ever eaten. My wife had the fettuccine and declared it excellent. The portions were adequate and the entrée prices between $ 10-$ 15 with a casual feel to the restaurant. The staff was not overly friendly but I feel that was due to being so busy. I would highly recommend this as a destination if you are in the mood for gear seafood.

Delicious food for a fair price. I usually get the shrimp alfredo, and it always has a LOT of shrimp in it, which is unusual. The food has always been really good when I’ve gone. The only problem I’ve seen is that sometimes service is a little backed up and disfunctional, but that happens anywhere occasionally so it’s not a huge deal.

Our group of six adults ate dinner here and everyone was pleased. Grilled platters, shrimp, oyster and fish baskets with an assortment of sides. All hot, fresh and good. This is a casual diner, drinks come in hard plastic tumblers, dinner comes in a paper sleeve. Food served in plastic baskets. We will eat here again.

Lipstick on my glass– :(and I’m not wearing lipstick! Grew another year older waiting on lemons that I asked for; shrimp tacos had tomatoes even though I requested none because of an allergy; when they retuned with new tacos, they had forgotten to pick a few tomatoes out:/(not cool). Hush puppies were the size a marble and the worst that I’ve had! I m tired of texting– soooooo, DON’t Go — find a captain D’s instead(& im not a fan of fast food at all)

The grilled shrimp tacos are awesome and April is a delightful server. With the cool weather this Sunday the deck was fantastic. Definitely worth a try for lunch, just get there early on the weekend

Think this place is one of those tourist traps. I had the house salad, hush puppies and shrimp basket. Shrimp were so small I would have thought I ordered the popcorn shrimp instead. My wife had the house salad, fried okra and coconut shrimp and was up sick all night. Not sure if the oil they were frying in that evening was old or what but it was scary and we almost ended up in the ER. Very pricey for what we received.

We went during the dinner rush on a Saturday night. Didn’t wait more than 10 minutes for a table even though it was really busy. Fabulous service. Had our appetizer(cheese sticks — delicious) not long after our drinks arrived. Waited the typical length of time for our meals as you would expect to on a busy Saturday night. We originally intended on going to Lambert’s and experience some ‘throwed rolls’ but after finding out they had a quoted 2.5 hour wait time with literally 100+ people waiting out front… We opted for this place right down the road instead. Very pleased with our decision.

We stopped here after seeing the largest crowd ever at Lamberts down the street. And 2 failed attempts at getting seated at the gulf shores location. We were greeted by the hostess and quickly seated on the comfy outdoor patio. There were so many seafood choices that I couldn’t make up my mind so I decided to go with the mahi mahi taco and it was outstanding! The shrimp slaw was also out of this world. We didn’t see much of our waitress after we were served which is never good if your out of water lol. I found the prices to be reasonable and the atmosphere quite nice. I left full and happy and say it’s definitely worth a try if your in the area.

Casual. Local. Enjoyable meal Combo steamed platter with shrimp and whitefish— shrimp cooked perfectly, as was fish, potatoes and corn, alright EVERYTHING in the platter was just right! Mahi tacos with shrimp slaw, greens, hush puppies, one lonely corn fritter– complimented by a blue moon. My Mahi was over cooked, but it was a small detail as everything surrounding was spot on. Business was brisk, but the servers were hustling effectively. Overall Aces!! j

First off, previously, we had eaten here about 7 years prior and had been DYING for crab claws since then. You can dine inside or out on the patio. This place has simple and fun décor. They also sell Shrimp Basket T-Shirts in various colors and sizes. They have locations in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi! I want one in the Los Angeles area, please? When we knew we were coming to Foley, AL from Los Angeles, CA, I knew I would be indulging in these crab claws! I have to say that I had my fill while I was in town, and that is meant in a good and bad way. When were here during this visit in March of 2015, we dined in and did a carry out. When we ate in, everything was exceptional, and really delicious! It was a totally different story when I ordered crab claws to go. We started with an Iced Tea, a Sweet Tea, and a Lemonade. We also ordered the Crab Claws Appetizer and a Crab Cake Appetizer. Oh my word, I was in crab claw heaven! They came out hot and were perfectly fried! Just exactly the deliciousness I had remembered and drooled over countless times! The Crab Cake was tasty! For the meals, we ordered: Whitefish Tacos — they were messy, but good Shrimp Skewers — they were grilled and seasoned well Sauteed Scallops — fresh from the ocean, imperfect and delectable bites Crab Claw Appetizer — because the actual appetizer got devoured, I had to order one for my meal! As we were nearing the end of our meal, we ordered 18 Raw Oysters and 2 combo baskets to-go. On another visit, we called in an order of crab claws and a crab cake to pick up. The crab cake came out fine. However, I about cried when I saw the crab claws. It really looked like I got all the rejected claws, they were tiny and overcooked, almost burnt. Besides the fact that they were so horrible, I was despondent because I knew they’d be the last ones I’d eat in a long time because we were leaving and heading back to the West Coast. :(Dear Shrimp Basket, I am so disappointed! Why did you have to serve these mostly inedible ones and why give them to me as the last taste in my mouth for a long time? I just am in such disbelief! Poor offering! I would have taken 2 rating stars off just for this alone, but I didn’t. Next time I visit Foley, I sure hope to savor some excellent Crab Claws each & every time, not just when I dine in!

Thought I would give this place five stars just boosted up a bit. I was craving fried crab claws and I’m allergic to shrimp but Unilocal told me to go here so I did!!! I got a cold beer and even though they only have plastic cups it went down very good and started with the basket of fried crab claws. You just don’t find those in Georgia so I enjoyed every bite! So now that my bellies halfway full already I opted to just get the crab cake appetizer and a basket of hush puppies to finish off my high cholesterol cheat night. I had the crabcakes grilled so the center was actually saw but full of crab and some veggies. I personally actually love them!!! Hush puppies had flavor and we’re not bland like most other places and were handmade and the service was friendly and inviting and relaxing which gave me the perfect evening. This is a little place on the side of the road that doesn’t look like much but they get my boat and the next time I’m down in the boonies near Foley I’m hitting them up again!!!
