Visited Folly Beach for the first time and started restaurant hopping. After enjoying our first small meal and beers and wanting to move on, the bartender at Chico Feo recommended Jack of Cups. He clearly knows his food AND drink. We enjoyed our next set of drinks and the Peanut Soup at JoC, both of which were refreshing and delicious. Our server was super sweet and thoughtful, refusing to charge for the extra cup of soup she gave us after forgetting to omit cilantro for my mom, a hater of the beloved green garnish. The music and ambiance was amazing too, just an overall pleasant experience. Would love to go back.

This is a tiny, sweet place with absolutely surprising food. The food is a mix of tasty curries, beautiful salads and delicious beer. Any patron wishing for fabulous food, beer, and service will appreciate this place. Megan was an amazing server. She is so very thoughtful and kind. Although I would hate to leave out her kind kitchen staff, who often ran our food. It is obvious that they hire very thoughtful employees. All in all, we felt very sad that we hadn’t found this place on prior trips to Folly.

Hands down my favorite place in Charleston. I find myself craving their Steamed Dumplings! The Black Bean Curry Bowl is so well balanced and incredibly flavorful! The owners and staff Are always friendly, enjoyable, and enthusiastic about their food & drink selections. This is where I take anyone visiting or just hungry. I tend to order nearly the whole menu when I come here… The best part… Everything is just as flavorful when I get home to indulge again. I would give 10 stars if Unilocal would allow it.

Little tiny place. Service was excellent. We sat out front and has ginger peanut soup, ramen noodle salad and korma special. All were very flavorful and satisfying.

I never expected to stumble upon such a great place in a tourist area. If you’re into divey style bars you’ll immediately feel at home here. Megan is a rockstar bartender. She knows her beer more than any bartender I’ve ever had. The food is knockout good here also. Small plates, but great! Make sure you head out back to hang in the yard. If you’re lucky, catch some great tunes.

Got done with work a little early down in Folly so I stopped in for a beer. This place used to be Folly Beach Brewing company years ago, but now it’s just a kick ass craft brewpub. Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout on draft. That’s all I gotta say!

The food is better than the food I’ve had at many upscale restaurants in Charleston. It’s a must try.

Totally unique and inexpensive. The Lentil Curry is AMAZING. The pork sliders are sandwiches, not sliders and full of flavor. I want to come back and try everything else.

Delicious, affordable, fresh and creative food. Vegetarian friendly, which can be hard to find in these parts! Friendly service with a smile. Great beer list. Steps from the beach.

It’s a tucked away small bar on the main drag that has the most unique food menu. Granted, it might not be your thing, but it’s a different style, that is all its own. I had the steamed dumplings and thought they were good. My friend had the red curry mac & cheese, which was even better than mine when I tried it, and I had order’s envy – when a fellow dinner spotted a cooler item on the menu than you did. It’s a small menu place, which I like. You know it’s what the restaurant feels it can nail. It can also force you out of a comfort zone and try new interesting things. The drink selection was pretty cool too. A mix special cocktails and nice craft beer selection. There was also a fair amount of Folly Beach locals, which at first made me feel like picked a great lunch spot, and after some drinks and food it was confirmed.

Everything we have had at our visits to JOC has been delish. Love the pumpkin soup but I hate pumpkin-how can this be? My only complaint-having to wait on a table. Its very small-quaint –but if you’re starving quaint doesn’t matter. Go early! Its worth it.

I died and went to heaven here. What a find! Killer beer selection. The curried pumpkin soup is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and the other 3 dishes we tried were equally well done. Go for the Lentil Curry loaded with extra sriracha. You won’t be disappointed(or leave hungry). The ladies behind the bar were warm and friendly, and I cannot wait to go back!

Don’t be fooled by the appearance of this little place. Excellent food and very friendly service. I highly recommend trying one of their soups and Curry Mac n Cheese is a great choice as well. My husband had the beef curry and was very pleased. If you are in the mood for food with flavor this is the place for you.

Best food we had on our Charleston trip, including the best soup i’ve probably ever had. The peanut ginger soup was amazing. Wife and i split both the vegan curries(Green Thai and Indian Lentil) and both were delicious. The menu was mostly vegetarian with some specials that looked meaty, but the menu definitely had a few vegan items clearly marked. As if great food wasn’t enough reason to go here, they have a great selection of craft beer. Had a One Claw and a Ballast Point pumpkin on draft. I look forward to returning during our next trip to Charleston.

Jack of Cups?!? I’m pretty sure they should change their name to «King of Cups Saloon»! Honestly, my expectations were low. Very similar to walking into any Tyler Perry movie. But boy was this place awesome! They have a very impressive beer list and the food is phenomenal. The menu is predominantly vegetarian and vegan(I don’t know the difference) but don’t let that sway you! Every dish had so much flavor and wonderfully priced. I think I found my new favorite spot on Folly Beach.

I completely fell in love with this place after a casual Thursday night dinner. The space is small, but the food is incredible and they have an impressive beer list. There is a strong Indian influence on the menu, and a lot of vegetarian options. I felt like the black bean nachos was quite possibly one of the best vegetarian dishes I have ever eaten. We were also blown away by the crab wontons and the pineapple & habanero wantons(though you might want to save those for desert, as its on the sweet side). Lastly, we had the special Pork Vindaloo which was also great and brought a good amount of heat. All this said, the staff/ownership combo of Leslie and Nick is really great and they take extra care to make you feel welcomed and at home. I can’t wait to come back and try more food from their ever-changing menu!
