The drop in on folly is by far one of the best pubs in the US. Not only is there food fresh and delicious but the bartenders and owner are courteous and attentive. But again. Their food is awesome and fresh!

I have been to the Drop In at least a dozen times. It is good for after the beach, the St. Patty’s Pub crawl, or just a random casual night out. The food is stellar. I love the potato salad and pimento cheese dip. The quesadilla rocks and the pimento cheese bacon sandwich is one of my favorite snacks of all time. I’ve never tried Sushi by Lisa — it’s on my agenda this summer though. The service is great even when they get busy. I look forward to keeping this one in my regular rotation.

Since moving to Charleston, I quickly realized that I had been drinking in the majority of Folly Beach bars long before living here, but that I had never eaten at any of them. Drop In definitely falls into the«OMG they serve food and I had no idea» category. Apparently I’d never noticed the«Bar & Deli» part of the name. It was Halloween afternoon and one of my friends and I left the Barrel in search of food. Woody’s was closed, I’m the only one who loves Taco Boy, so Drop In it was. We grabbed two seats at the bar and ordered drinks while perusing the menu. Never mind the fact that it was 1:00 in the afternoon — I witnessed one woman too drunk to find her wallet(it was in the chair beside her) and another lady come in to pay her tab from the night before(someone else had already paid it). That right there tells you that Drop In is a fun place to hangout. As for the food, it was okay. I had the fish tacos and far prefer them from across the street at Taco Boy. My friend had the burger and enjoyed it. We also got the pimento cheese and hummus appetizer. That wasn’t exactly what comes to mind for pimento cheese. It was more like nacho cheese or possibly even Easy Cheese. The word«deli» is a little misleading because more than anything«basic bar food» comes to mind. All and all, the food was fine and I’d definitely eat here again if in Folly and someone suggested it. However, I think I’m going to stick with my years of ignorance is bliss and keep frequenting Drop In Bar(& Deli) as just a bar.

Wanted some eats after a late night on Folly. Decided to drop by the Drop In, and yes, it is kind of a dump at 1 in the morning, BUT the bartender was cool. She had high spirits, beautifully loud laugh, she was smiling and bouncing all over the place. lol. her energy was totally infectious. Two cheap but wicked strong G&T’s later, we finally got some food. Ordered a couple of chicken salad sandwich’s, turkey Reuben and a few other things, and the chicken salad was actually pretty good, but everything else was terrible. I cant even really go into why or what was bad about it, but all I can say, is I was not drunk enough to enjoy it. Props to the bartender though, cause she was a gem, but if you wanna eat here, make sure you go in buzzed at least. Now I know next time I visit.

After walking past the place a hundred times, I finally stopped by to kill some time one day. I really just need a shot and a beer to fix a hangover, but it felt like destiny when I opened the menu and saw«voted best hangover food in the city.» The Redneck is a chicken cheese steak with bacon, jalepenos, and ranch dressing. Holy hangover cure. This sandwich was the bomb. I would eat it without a hangover any day, but on this particular morning, it was like mana from heaven. I’m having a difficult time writing right now because I want to go back and get one now… I’m out!

What a slightly perfect dining experience to compliment a relaxing Sunday at the beach. The pairing, the service, the company and the lasting linger of the food made this a five star experience. First off. This is very critical that I begin with this. Drop In has the second best potato salad I have ever had in my life on this Earth. Holy crap yummy. I would recommend just getting a pint to go and savoring it. Next, the Pimento BLT is not only filled with lasting flavor, but it is big enough to share. It is quite a delight whether you have it for brunch, lunch or dinner. Son of a Peach was a nice beverage to compliment this meal. The service was chill, friendly and overall excellent. Great spot to relax after a walk or some bocci on the beach.

Great food so many options! Plenty of vegetarian options compared to most things along center street. Very friendly staff! Always a favorite spot for days on folly!

I used to LOVE this place when they first opened, but over the years the service has gone way down. At least FIVE times they have forgotten something with my meal. Not to mention TWO of my friends got food poisoning from their food. Makes me wonder what goes on in the back. Damn shame.

Ok so first off know that this place is a dive bar and does not try to be more then that but after reading other posts I would like to point out a few things, for one the name«Drop In» refers to a surfing term and has no bearing on this being a place to drop in for quick service!!! Number two if I ran the place I would drop the word«Deli» from the name and just call it the Drop In as I do think some travelers have a different idea of delis especially if you are from up north, they do have good deli style sandwiches but it is not a typical«deli» in that sense. I have eaten here several times and never had a bad meal and it’s a super fun bar to drink at with good live music from time to time and wacky bartenders. The salads are great and huge, my go to lunch item. I have also ordered the special several times and always enjoyed it!!!

I had the fish tacos the other day. They were delicious((not too salty, seasoned just right) and the service was awesome. I’m from Atlanta and love to try new places. I got recommended this place after all the other restaurants in the area were too packed. I’m so glad I came here. Thanks Drop-In!

I was really looking forward to buying food from this place, especially since they deliver, but it never happened. I was quoted 25 – 30 minutes, but after an hour I received a call from the restaurant saying that the delivery driver knocked on every door at the«complex», which was all wrong to begin with, as it was a house, with every door being made of glass looking into the living room in which I was sitting. The girl on the phone said that he could bring it back out but only after he finished making the food for the guests that had just arrived. At that point I declined and she said she didn’t know what to say and that she was not the one that scheduled only 1 person to cook and deliver. If you order delivery make sure they know where you are on the very small island and suggest that the delivery driver bring a cell phone and that he is not the only other person that works there. P. S. I am a Charleston native that frequently visits and occasionally rents a house on Folly.

It’s a dive, so don’t expect the world here. The food was good, especially the soup and the potato salad. The BLT had lots of bacon and good lettuce so not much more you can expect for $ 6. Also $ 5 pint sized mimosas with your choice of juice? Yes, please, thanks, I’ll have two. Service and music were good too!

With limited options and little time to spare we «dropped in» to this joint for a quick dinner. What a mistake that was! No one in my group of 4 was satisfied with their dinner and the service was horrible. I ordered a fish sandwich that was completely raw when I bit into it. It took forever for the server to come back to the table and by that time I was fuming. Mind you, there are less than 10 tables in the entire place. The server made no attempt to get a manager or offer a replacement. I had to ask for a replacement. With the clock ticking, I opted for a grilled cheese sandwich. Who can ‘ef that up??? You guessed it! They can! It’s no wonder hardly anyone else was eating during peak dinner hours on a Saturday night. With only about 3 tables occupied, the server seemed so overwhelmed that you’d have thought she was a one man show on Sunday morning in an IHOP. Never again! This place isn’t even worth a review any longer than a paragraph. Save yourself. I promise, McDonald’s is a better choice.

I am a bit bias bc this is my «afterwork» favorite place to be, but the food is always good! Sushi nights, great lunch menu and the bartenders? Spectacular. A local favorite.

Again Unilocalers who have reviewed Folly Beach restaurants we are going to have to agree to disagree. I found this place to be average at best. I ‘dropped in’ to get a sandwich and an ice tea after I took a nice 2 mile walk around the beach. It is very beachy, no shirt, no shoes, have a dog, no problem, kind of place. The kind of beach side restaurant that you are happy they don’t have sufficient lighting and wonder when the last time a health inspector has reviewed restaurants in the local vicinity. But alas I digress… First think I noticed they have PBR on tap for $ 2, very interesting. Second, thing I noticed is they have an empty bottle of SoCo still on the shelf. Now me and SoCo haven’t been friends since I pledged a sorority many, many moons ago and learned the hard way(with an empty bottle of SoCo) one of our founding sisters names… but an empty bottle still on the bar is still kind of sad. They have one TV at the bar and the music is very good. After looking at the menu, I decided on a grilled chicken wrap, no bacon, dressing on the side(thankfully b/c it wasn’t that good) and the baked potato salad(which is NOT good for you but is quite heavenly in bacon, cheese, mayoness). I waited approximately 20 mins to get my wrap, I think you can call ahead and order what you want before you get there, b/c some fella sat down after me and had his sandwich in about 3 mins. He ate it in about 5 and was in and out in 20 mins tops. I took some pix, enjoy! Interestingly enough, there is also a 4 top sushi bar in the front of the restaurant that opens in the evening and the patron next to me said is quite good. So I don’t think i will drop in for their food, but maybe for Lisa’s sushi. My bill was $ 11.15 with tax not tip.

Good food and beer, how can you go wrong. Service was good, my only complaint was that people were smoking outside and the smoke was coming inside since the doors were open.

Nice little beach bar, with good sandwiches, cheap beer prices, and lax music. It’s what a place on Folly should be.

Came here with three other guys for sandwiches. The consensus was three to four stars. Everything is fresh and homemade. Simple and well done. Love the art on the walls and chill music.
