Had clam chowder appetizer. It was very good and thick. Not a lot of clams though then had blackened salmon salad. It was also very good. Service was very good as well as the atmosphere.

I have to say my wife and I Love stake restaurants. We were in town shopping and figured we would give it a try she ordered the Filet mignon asked for med rare it came out basically raw. The waiter was nice enough and took it back. When it came back it was just slapped on the grill and still raw. Now the manager came out and took it back. When he brought it back it looked like chopped up cat food and now well done. Yuk ! As for me I ordered the stuffed pork chop. The presentation was good. But flavorless and with in a ½ hour I was rushing to the restroom the best part of the dinner was the bottle of wine and the Ahi pokie $ 36 for a Failed Filet and $ 30+ for a stuffed pork dish that shot out of me faster then I ate it was not worth it. The manager was nice enough to credit our bill for the Filet but we will never return.

Disgusting food, good happy hour prices on drinks. Ordered the calamari, stuffed mushrooms and avocado egg rolls on happy hour. Flavorless. How do you mess up fried deliciousness? I wanted to not believe the hype and like this place, but I can’t even.

I visited Chops a couple of nights ago, it was a Monday night. Worried we wouldn’t get there in time to have dinner, we hurried in as soon as possible. Upon arrival we found out the kitchen had closed 10 minutes prior but due to the recency they opened it back up for us. Given their location, the manager explained that their close was more of a soft close that depended on how busy they were. We were more than grateful for their flexibility and enjoyed a great evening chatting it up and drinking some beers. I’m not a big steak fan so I opted for the burger. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in Sacramento. I ordered the garlic fries which were the perfect addition to the meal. Bar tender was very knowledgeable on the quality of alcohol behind the bar, making suggestions, and the beer list was more than decent. We will definitely be coming back!

Took mothers out for mothers day, the waiter was amazing he did a great job, they had no steak we asked for left, towards the end we asked for tea and coffee after my waiter left home the bar tender was a chunky man he replied back saying you know what we have been closed for the past hour and the kitchen is closed we cant serve anything anymore, its just hot water and tea color what does the kitchen have to do with that, i didnt order any other food, very upseting because i spent 200 $ that night and left a nice tip as well. Ive been here 2 times and 3rd time with mothers, im not sure if its worth going anymore.

This is a favorite spot for my dad and me, especially when we’re going to see a movie next door. Never a crowd, we liked to sit at a booth across from the fireplace on a winter’s day. I can’t tell you much about the rest of the food, because I always get the Blackened Salmon Salad. I LOVEIT. Once he tasted it, that’s my dad’s favorite now, too. The service has always been impeccable. The price is right because Dad always picks up the tab. Hopefully someday I will branch out and try one of the other yummy-sounding dishes on their menu. I see they have a new spring menu and I am very tempted indeed.

The avocado roll appetizer was very good; but the grilled chicken sandwich was very amateur-ish. Service was good, good atmosphere, clean restaurant. Overall: not bad, but wouldn’t necessarily go back.

1.5 stars. Came here for Mothers Day, the restaurant was half empty and we had to wait over an hour for our dinner to arrive. Our appetizer order didn’t come as requested, we wanted one of the ingredients on the side. We had to ask for a water refill and bread since the kids were hungry. The manager was helpful; however does not make up for the substandard service. The restroom was out of towels, and I had to grab a napkin from the bars staff(who ignored me anyway). They charge too much for the quality of food and service. We want to give local establishments a chance but with service like this don’t bother. What a disappointment.

Seems that an awful lot of people have had some pretty bad luck here, but today the Salmon BLT was really good, and the service was terrific. Of course that could be partly because we were the first ones in when it opened, but there was nothing to complain about at lunchtime today, except maybe that the music was a little loud. They cheerfully turned it down when we asked. I’d like to try some of the small plates, at one of their Happy Hours sometime maybe. We’ll be back. Not sure why they’re being judged so harshly here.

It took them 20 minutes to get our flash fried calamari appetizer. My water glass was empty for 15 minutes before We were able to track down the waiter to remind him to fill it. My husband had asked for a glass of wine with his entrée. He was done eating before it arrived. Poor poor service. Oh, and we were one of four tables there. It’s not like it was crowded and they couldn’t keep up with the rush.

My husband and I love this restaurant, and we are pretty picky when it comes to restaurant food. He loves the sandwiches and orders a dinner salad with, which are fresh and crisp, with amazing homemade blu cheese dressing. I order the foccocia garden flat bread, it is filling and delicious. Last night I also had a cup of their black bean soup — fabulous! I would stay away from the fish and chips… they are just the frozen, deep fried look and taste.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my wife. It was our first time here and the menu looked like it had more then a few items we would want so we decided to try it for the first time. We sat in a booth and there wasn’t anyone else around us. The booth was facing a table straight on, which would’ve been awkward if anyone was sitting there. I ended up getting a mushroom and Swiss burger with bacon on it with a side in onion rings. It was really nice that you could substitute any of the sides for free instead of having to pay the up charge for onion rings or garlic fries(instead of just French fries) that most places do. My burger was pretty good, felt a tad dry but overall wasn’t bad. The onion rings were very delicious and they brought me a lot. So much I couldn’t finish them all. The wait staff was average, our waitress disappeared on us for a long while. I asked for a refill and she said she put in an order for it which I found strange. She did come back with a refill for me and a minute later the one she put in for came as well. So I had two drinks, which was fine by me and I drank them both. Overall I am not super surprised this place is around 2.5 stars. I think they try to come off as fancy or upscale and that hurts them somewhat because the price they charge might be a tad too much for what you get. I would come back to try again one day.

Went to Chops for a Friday diner with the girls. The décor and ambience is great and very pleasant environment. Our waitress was amazing, she was pleasant, fun, and attentive. The drinks were okay, I has their version of a Cosmo which was good but a tad bit too much alcohol. The RAD bloody with bacon was amazing! The $ 36 ribeye came with mashed potatoes and carrots. The portion was really small. The meat was not impressive. It had no flavor, no grill taste or anything that would make your mouth water. My friends ordered the filet minion and were extremely disappointed. It was very bland and unflavored. The most impressive food was the crab cakes and calamari. That’s why the 2 stars. For a $ 80 per person meal I would not go back. The local Applebee’s has better steaks.

This place is gross. My husband and I have been to this location twice now. The atmosphere is strange. I say that because both times we went to the restaurant, we were one of maybe two tables in the whole place and we were there at times you’d expect to see other people. I think that should’ve been our first sign that it wasn’t the best place. The décor is slim to none, aside from the double view fireplaces, which I do like. Just booths, tables, and a bar area. The food is below average and expensive for the quality. The first time I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich. It was nasty, and that’s not a word I would use lightly. It was bland and the cheese was slimy. I couldn’t taste the pesto that was supposedly on it. It came with a salad that was extremely wilted, or possibly had just been sitting with dressing on it for too long. I didn’t want to return after this first experience, but my husband talked me into trying it again because of our Living Social coupons. The second experience, I ordered the steak salad. The serving size was huge! It was about enough salad for four hungry adults. This was another turn off for me because it is wasteful. You can’t take home a leftover salad covered in dressing… So more than half of it that I couldn’t finish, was thrown away. The steak on the salad was tender, but flavorless – like not even salted. I admit, that I am kind of picky with food and I really don’t like paying for food if I feel like I could make it better myself. This is definitely how I feel about this place. I could overlook flavorless food and this place would’ve got 2 stars, except for the fact that, that night I got really sick from the food I ate with this second experience. I’m telling you, I spent an hour straight, next to the toilet. This tells me that this restaurant does not commit to safe food practices or possibly sanitation practices. There’s just no excuse for that. I will definitely not be returning.

Had a living social so decided to dine here tonight. The waiter was attentive and polite. Ordered Mac n cheese as a starter which was great tasting but came out blazing hot. My wife had the brussels sprouts as a starter which she enjoyed. She had the sausage stuffed meat loaf which she didn’t enjoy. The meat loaf wasn’t great but the sides were good. My main course was the Folsom cowboy burger which tasted good. I ordered medium but received a well done burger but wasn’t dry at all. The garlic scented fries were way too salty for me and I love salt. They still tasted good despite the extra salt. The focaccia bread and butter is nice and light. The price isn’t as much as a typical steak house but there are more menu items that aren’t steak which is probably the reason. Overall I say this visit deserves a 3.4 star rating. What could have been better: less salt on fries, burger actually cooked to medium. Great location.

First time at this Chops, been to the one downtown. The stuffed mushrooms are amazing, the lemon drop martini was done perfectly. The steak salad was good, but could have used a bit more stake. The sirloin steak was delishes and tender with awesome garlic bacon mash potatoes. We also had their berry cream brule which was outstanding. We also had the BEST service, our waiter Aaron was super attentive…5 stars because of him. We will return for sure.

So hubs and I came here for a second time in less than a month. We came here for the first time after a Unilocal event. First visit: *Southern fried chicken-it was pretty good. 3⁄5 *Tomato Cucumber salad-not enough cucumbers for the price, very small portion 2⁄5 *Chops burger-this was decent, onion rings were DeeLish. 3⁄5 Second visit: *Filet Mignon dinner special-ordered my steak medium, came out bloody, sent it back, came back charred on the outside, red on the inside. 1⁄5 *French Dip-BLAH! Menu says it comes with a creamy horseradish. It came out with plain sour cream, brought it to the manager’s attention, he confirms it’s sour cream, explains to us that the horseradish blend comes from the Chops Sacramento. He also notified us that they don’t have horseradish in store but he mixed wasabi with the sour cream. It was ok, but it wasn’t the same. What kind of steak house doesn’t have horseradish but has wasabi? WTH? 1⁄5 *Spinach stuffed mushrooms-we ordered this as appetizer. This was delicious, probably the best thing we ordered. 3⁄5 On this last visit, we spent more time waiting for our food being corrected than we did actually eating. It was so disappointing that the rest of our food was cold, we lost interest and I wasn’t about to send my steak back a second time. I mean, this is a steakhouse, right? $ 38 is rather pricey for a disappointing steak dinner. I could’ve paid a little more and gone to Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris, and had a steak done Right! Conclusion: I’ve tried Chops at both Sacramento and Folsom. Both locations were disappointing! Never again! Thanks but no thanks! I may have given them three stars based on my first visit but two stars is quite generous for a pricey meal that wasn’t edible. Ugh!

Disclaimer: I did not eat at this restaurant so my review has nothing to do with the food. We arrived following a Unilocal event in the Palladio which Chops was one of the vendors. I really enjoyed the ribs they had at the event so we thought we’d head here for dinner and drinks with another Unilocal Elite friend and her sister. We arrived to see that the bar area was completely packed so we decided to ask for a table. The hostess was very rude! She had an attitude and seemed bothered that she had to do her job. We were told there was a 30 – 35 minute wait which would have been ok if there were people in the restaurant itself. I looked around the inside restaurant itself and almost half of the tables were empty. And the outside patio only had a few tables filled. Do they not have enough servers? Its a Saturday night, there should be plenty of servers. Poor planning on managements part. And poor attitude on the part of the hostess which is usually your first interaction at a restaurant. I have no desire to even go back for food despite how good the ribs were.
