The staff(manager, Tessa our server, the chefs, and EVERYONE) are bar none the best. Born in SF, I can honestly say Sutter Street Steakhouse has THEBEST calamari on the planet. Our dinner and service were incredible. Can’t recommend this place enough

Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my son’s 24th birthday and my daughter’s 21st. We ordered a bottle of the Stags Leap cabernet called Artemis. It was very good. My daughter had a ceasar salad, my son the spinach salad, & my husband & I shared he wedge. I ordered the Filet special which came with polenta, arugula, and a creamed corn sauce. It was amazing! My Husband had the new york with fries, my son the ribeye, and my daughter had the regular filet mignon. We all ended up taking home half our dinners. Our server, Melani, was the best. She was so helpful explaining the specials & was very sweet. She gave us 2 chocolate lava cakes to celebrate both my kids birthdays. She was awesome! The young people who cleared the table and filled our water glasses were also very attentive. This was truly a wonderful dining experience! We will definitely be returning.

Want to be a woohoo as good as it gets or a yay I’m a fan but it just didn’t happen for us. The food was good, the timing/service was off. We are in the area monthly so hope to make a future visit. Beautiful restaurant with a great view. We were seated, asked for water, nothing came. Ordered a Bombay Tini(fab) and a glass of red wine. Asked for water again. Ordered calamari, that came, then the water(finally) and drinks several minutes after calamari came(in the time we ordered, it was prepared, then served). Timing issue. We ordered a loaded wedge salad, this was good $ 11.00. We split a rib eye medium rare $ 37.00, baked potato, and mushrooms $ 8.00. And waited… waited. Another server dropped off our split meal and we had a well done rib eye, mashed potatoes and no mushrooms. We were hungry so we ate the steak, they said they were out of baked potatoes so they just substituted the mashed(and charged us $ 5 to split something we didn’t order), the mushrooms didn’t show up. As we were finishing our steak and potatoes the mushrooms finally came. I think if our steak was cooked properly and the meal we ordered arrived(at the same time), we would’ve had a 5 star experience.

The hostesses were knowledgeable and quick to seat us. Our waiter was fun and answered all of my annoying questions, because I’m «that customer» hahaha. Our food was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly! I also loved that I could see the kitchen and watch the food being prepped. I will definitely be coming back to this spot! If you love a good steak and don’t necessarily love chain Steak Houses, this is the place for you.

The last two years we have gone here for my girlfriend’s mother’s birthday. We typically go during happy hour which I must say is a step up from the norm. They have a very reasonably priced menu, although I generally order the lobster off of the full menu. It has to be the best lobster tail in town. I have recently adopted it as my birthday location as well. And we had a small group of friends and family there to celebrate my 40th. It was just as good as always. I had the tails again, and one of my best friends ordered the mole rib eye, which I think I will be having next time I go. It was basically a blacked ribeye with a mole dry rub, seared to perfection! The service was exceptional as usual! If you are in Folsom, make the trip to Sutter Street. We will be back at every opportunity.

All steak is preferred medium rare, but the choice is up to you. Has indoor/outdoor seating. It’s a bit chilly inside; the AC is cranked up just a notch too high. Chose outdoor seating since the weather was just right. Ordered a skirt steak cooked upon preference and it was delicious! Comes with a side of mashed potatoes and salad. What I absolutely enjoyed was the service I received. Alyssa was amazing! Definitely tended to my every need, was kind and professional. Overall a great experience at Sutter Street and will be back again soon! *Could benefit from having a valet service. Parking is a bit tedious

Great location in old Folsom, and even better food. A lot of great memories at Sutter Street Steakhouse with my family and friends here. I order the same thing every time… twin lobster tails and a med rare filet mignon… never disappoints!

Classy, great atmosphere, polite staff, easy location and most of all great food! My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. I was blown away! We sat inside at a lovely white linen and(faux) candlelit table. We found a «Happy Anniversary» card signed by the staff sitting on our table. This place was filled with a good amount of patrons for a Monday evening. We both ordered the special which was a ‘surf and turf’. The lobster tail was amazing and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly! The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned well. They brought bread and butter to the table which was also addicting. We enjoyed Moscow Mules with our meal and much to our surprise they brought out a salted caramel molten cake to help us celebrate! Really great dining experience and will likely be returning again!

I liked the location of this restaurant. The service was good. The steak was AMAZING. I had the filet mignon and it was just so good! Tender and everything a filter mignon ought to be. It came with garlic mash which was also every bit of delicious. I would rather come here than go to Ruth Chris’s because you get a much better steak. I also liked that they have an open kitchen, nice touch.

Went here for an early Mother’s Day with a large family group. My husband, daughter 14, son 4, aunt, uncle, cousin and her son also four. waiter was amazing and on point. The assistants that brought out the food mixed a few plates up but no big deal. Everyone’s food was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Our bill was over 300 but well worth being able to see the chefs cooking and having a wonderful view. Would highly recommend this place for large family get togethers!

My wife and I had been waiting a long time to try this place. We had been hearing nothing but amazing things from our friends who had already tried it out. Let me tell you, this place is amazing on our friends were right on! The location, at the end of Sutter Street, in one of the new brick buildings was amazing. The entire feel you get when you walk in was awesome. They had a bar, indoor seating, and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating had sweeping views of Folsom and Lake Natoma. We were seated near the middle of the restaurant, right next to the huge wine display/case. Ok– now for the food. I can honest say that this was one of the best meals I have ever had. We had the house bread and butter, which was amazing. We also tried the onion rings appetizer, which was BBQ spiced with chipotle ketchup. I was a bit weary at first ordering onion rings at a nice steakhouse, but I was proved wrong immediately. These things were amazing! My wife ordered the surf and turf. I got the rib-eye. Both came with garlic mashed potatoes. As I stated, above this was one of the best meals we have ever had. The steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. We will be coming back soon. I can’t wait!

Been here a couple times before. First review of the place however. First time: amazing. Second time: not worth the money, kind of a let down. Third time: apparently the saying is correct-it was the charm! Had the same waiter as the second time: he was on point tonight. In fact the whole staff was. Water was never even at the halfway point before it was topped off. Food service was prompt-pretty good for a really good steakhouse. Definitely recommend the jumbo prawns-like they were caught fresh this morning. Everything about my plate was awesome. My NY-my fave-was one of the best i had, cooked to perfection and very simple. No fancy sauces or drizzles here. I even ate the fat! Baked tater-spudtastic! Asparagus was finger lickin good. Drink was perfect mix of vodka and tonic. 10⁄10 of my tastebuds would recommend to a friend! If this place was this good every time, id leave my wife for it.

Came back a week ago. Food was good and really no complaints. I travel a lot and so i guess am spoiled. One of my favorite restaurants is in the wonderful city of Cleveland called Greenhouse Tavern. I guess I’m hoping for something like that. Maybe I’m being unreasonable on what would be acceptable in little old Folsom. Not suggesting you copy their menu. I am an adventurous eater(have had that pigs head on their menu) so i suppose what i would like is not necessarily what would fly here. Anyway I’m waffling. had the seared ahi during my follow up visit was cooked very nicely .My guests had a various array of the steaks offered and thoroughly enjoyed them. Service great no complaints. The convenience to my house and the Lake Natoma Inn makes this place a great spot for my business meals. I will just have to make the trek to Sac to get MY culinary freak on. :)

I have no complaint except I’m sorry I had no room for dessert. My petite filet was melt in the mouth perfection. The spinach over Dijon sauce was so delicious as were the garlic mashed potatoes. I paired this with the Malbec. One of, if not the, best meals I’ve ever enjoyed. The service staff was wonderful. The ambiance was quietly elegant. My friend had the lobster tail. It was sweet and tender. She loved all of her dinner too. I will be back! Perhaps get a room and enjoy more of Folsom.

I’m giving this place a higher rating that I would have if this rating was based solely on my OWN opinion, just because of the fact that my husband has been raving about this place since we last went. He said it was the best steak he has EVER eaten. Since I’m not much of meat eater, and instead opted for chicken, I didn’t see what all the craze about this place was. All-in-all, I left feeling disappointed that we paid almost 25 dollars for a basic plate of chicken. Wish they had some kind of vegetarian option that is not seafood(like a cheese/veggie lasagna). I guess I’m not much of a fancy bread eater either, because I wasn’t too impressed with the bread brought to the table. My husband happily munched away at it, but I found it to be a bit dry and hard to chew through. Guess I just don’t have much of a pallet for fine dining. I’d have been happier and much more satisfied to go to a place that offers a wider selection of foods, like Chilis. Oh well– husband said he would go back another time with a friend!

I have been to many Steakhouses and this is one of my favorite local steakhouse. I like my steak medium and its always cooked to perfection. The petite filet was tender and juicy served with ground mustard sauce and crumbled blue cheese. The prime rib-eye with mole wet rub was very flavorful. I liked it cooked medium-well for cuts that are fatty because I like the outside fat a little crispy. I liked how they cooked their calamari as well. It was lightly battered like a tempura batter. The fresh oysters were a good size and you can taste the freshness. I had fresh oysters at LO(Land Ocean) and it was a joke for a steak and seafood restaurant, it was a dime size and gritty! So if you are craving fresh oysters and good steak, get it at Sutter Street Steakhouse and pair it with their abundant selection of wine collection.
