This place is okay. My coworkers and I came here because we knew we were having a rough week — mostly just the beginning of the rough week. It’s unfortunate that some of my coworkers don’t eat red meat or like red meat cooked to a very well-done(both of which I think is a bit strange). I’m all for not eating red meat all the time, but special occasions and I’ll eat a lot of meat. All the time. I ended up getting the filet(6oz) it it wasn’t too bad, but I probably should have gotten more meat since I was still slightly hungry afterwards. We also ended up getting the chocolate cake and cookie with ice cream as desserts to share amongst the four of us. Overall, the service was pretty good — they are super happy and nice people! Protip: good steak. good service, everything is a-ok.

I was in Sacramento on business and When I travel I eat out and prime rib is my thing. I chose Cattleman’s and had a very nice prime rib and was able to eat in front of the fire place. Sunni was my server and it was good food in a rustic place and I waiting nor wanted for anything the service was great.

This is the first time I have come to this restaurant on a Tuesday and it was not a good experience. They were severely understaffed. There were lots of empty tables, yet we waited 20+ minutes to be sat. When we were finally sat we waited who knows how long to even get offered water. By that time we were ready to order so we proceeded to order. An hour after initially arriving we got our food which was tough and over cooked. I ended up having my tri tip taken back and switched out for a steak. An hour and a half later we are headed home. I am very disappointed and feel cheated with my experience considering this restaurant is not cheap. I gave it two stars because although our waiter was extremely slow, he was very nice. I know this restaurant is not as horrible as my experience was tonight so I will return eventually, just not on a slow weekday.

Great California steakhouse that knows how to cook a steak. They always have a great selection of fresh hand cut steaks. If steak is not your thing then they have a wide selection of seafood and menu items to choose from. Each meal comes with unlimited bread and they bring a small portion of beans to share with your entrees. My wife and I usually get the prime rib and it’s never disappointed us yet. If you’re coming later in the evening ask your sever if they still have the prime rib. We’ve ordered before and had them come back 15 minutes later and tells us they are out. I hate it when that happens so ask before you order. Décor is fitting and the waitstaff has always been excellent on our visits. If you’re going during normal dinner hours you might want to call and ask for a reservation. We’ve never had to wait long but there are times when this location can be busy. Plenty of parking but it might be a confusing getting to the parking lot. The restaurant is highly visible off of Highway 50 but you need to enter the parking lot off of Folsom Blvd. near How Ave by turning into the Nimbus Winery parking lot. Follow the signs for Cattleman’s parking lot which is located in the back.

Amazing food & amazing service! We are always being treated like family every time we come in. Went for my Dad’s birthday last night and was pleased with the excellent food. Our waitress, Lisa, who brought everything we needed without having to ask was outstanding with her service. I ordered the bottomless salad with filet mignon steak that came with fries, beans, and bread. Everything was cooked perfectly and I am always a returning customer!

Again after been gone for months we were greeted like family, probably because I spend and tip handsomely lol, either way waitress recognized me and greeted us and actually sat us down immediately. Food was top notch and had absolutely no problem with anything, had to update review because they’re so awesome, everyone was super friendly, management came by to see if all was in order, great job to all, will keep coming back for sure.

Went on a busy Friday night. Make reservations if you’re going on a Thurs, Fri or Sat. Food was outstanding. Shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp, delicious steak, twice-baked potatoes are super. The dinner for two special is a great deal. Cheesecake was the best. Shelly was an amazing server and Corey and Jacob were very attentive. Highly recommend Cattlemen’s Folsom. Prices were very reasonable too!!!

Cattlemens rocks! Came here this past Saturday for a meetup with some high school buddies. I know Cattlemens has been there a long time, but it was my first time. –In terms of layout and furniture, it has an old western feel to it, but has lots of space and multiple rooms, plus a nice open bar area. –The food was REALLY good and the portions were large. I had a filet and potato which was perfectly cooked and the right size, plus the price was reasonable at $ 32. –The service was AWESOME, our waitress was super cool, quick, friendly, kept my diet soda topped off, and rolled with the punches from our big group. Plus, sang happy birthday to one of the guys in the group. Overall, I was really impressed and now planning to try a nearby location with my girlfriend.

It’s more like a 2.5. Loved everything about this place except for the steak. Great service, friendly employees, yummy sourdough bread, loved the unlimited salad and the way it was presented, enjoyed my alcoholic drinks. Steaks was a ribeye, medium rare and cooked to my liking but, under seasoned, not a hard sear, so it was like this grey meat with grill marks, and pretty gristly. I had a hard time cutting through the meat at certain points. Kind of an underwhelming steak for a steak place. The BD agreed. Kid meal chicken nugget was good for the kiddo. Might try Cattlemens again in another year or so. Fresh Off the Boat bought us here :)

Whenever my husband & I are in the mood for a big piece of meat, but don’t want to get all fancy… We go to Cattlemens!!! Its a big western themed restaurant w/a huge parking lot & is conveniently located right off the freeway(7 mins from my home). We’re always greeted as soon as we enter the restaurant & have never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table! This particular evening we started w/the wings… They were good(tangy & saucy little chicken wings), but I prefer the shrimp cocktail(jumbo shrimp in a nice cocktail sauce)… I just wish they’d give you more than 5 shrimp cause they’re really yummy! I always order they’re prime rib… It literally melts in your mouth! I like it w/a side of rice usually, but I also like the mashed potatoes & I add a little horseradish to it(BOMBDIGGITY)! My husband swears by their filet mignon… He’s never complained about it & loves the beans, sautéed mushrooms, salad & potato sides that they offer! You have to go hungry because you get a lot of food! The prices aren’t outrageous either, so for a nice steak dinner I’d definitely recommend Cattlemens!!!

I feel super guilty for never reviewing our go to steak house! We always arrive quite close to opening on a Tuesday or Thursday :) never have to wait more than 5 minutes if ever to be seated in a nice comfy booth! Tuesday has the added bonus of 5.00 long island ice tea yum turns my frown upside down any day! Service has always been great from everyone from start to finish. The porterhouse is always what my boyfriend gets and it is huge a definite carnivore dream! In fact it is usually enough for a few meals ha ha. I always get the 20.00 special on Tuesday Tbone or Thursday NY and shrimp. We are always happy with the cook and quality of our steaks, in fact once a mistake was made before I was even aware and I received two steaks score! I love that we can both get our steak on perfectly suited for our appetite size and at an affordable price. The salad, beans and bread are all unlimited and one can easily fill up on those delicious sides but try and save room for that delicious steak.

I love going to cattle and for the steak. Not so much for the service. And whenever I go in there with my family, we get looks from everyone in there, customers and staff alike. I guess it’s cuz we look like an unconventional family? Anyways, that not under their control, at least the other customers aren’t. Anyways! Onto the food! Food: Great flavored steak. House made ranch. Twice baked potato. Garlic fries. All of which are yummy. The steak is always cooked perfectly. Service: Service has been on and off for us. At first, it was amaze balls. Water/drinks always filled. Bread basket never empty. And checked on often. Next time, we have to hunt for a server, to ask for water, or ask where the salad dressing is, or for a fork and knife, or for the bill to be given or picked up. Location: Totes visible from the freeway, a bit more difficult to get to the front door. You have to enter the parking lot for old spaghetti factory, find your way to the end, then go right and the front is somewhere there under the over hang. Overall: Would come back again, the value for that 2lb steak is not something you can pass up on.

We came here from Southern California and decided to try a different steakhouse. So glad we crossed paths with this amazing place. we made reservations before hand and the wait was about 5 – 10 min when we arrived. Busy place. The service was amazing. Not only friendly, but pleasant. Our food came out with good timing. They start off with WARM bread and house salads. Try thier house made thousand island dressing. GETSIARAASYOURSERVER. SHE’S VERYSWEET. 1) Started off with stuffed mushrooms. 2)He had the RUSTLER’S RIBYE… DELICOUS I had PETE’S FAVORITE, 10oz SIRLOIN 3) no room for dessert. :-) probably a good thing

I’ve eaten here three times in the past year. My food has always been a-ok(to steal from the Unilocal rating system). Steak is definitely their specialty — the appetizers are nothing to write home about, and the beans they bring for the table aren’t very good(explains why they bring such small portions of them). I’m sort of obsessed with good shrimp, and the one time I ordered a shrimp skewer add-on, I left most of it uneaten because it just wasn’t very good. Service is typically friendly, but not very prompt or attentive — I attribute this more to the management than the actual servers, as it seems like their sections may be too large and/or spread out. You often see your server racing around frantically and have to wave wildly to try to get their attention. Here’s the real kicker — of the three times I’ve been there, twice I’ve been with someone who very adamantly emphasized that they wanted their steak VERYWELLDONE with absolutely NOPINK. Both times, the steak was brought to them very pink the first time; after sending it back, they were brought a nearly bloody steak the second time!(Remember, these are two separate instances — and nearly a year apart!) In the first instance, the person switched to requesting a plain chicken breast, as she was grossed out by that time, and then the chicken was brought to her WITHPINKINTHEMIDDLE. Whaaaaaat?! In the second instance, the person requested ribs to go, as the rest of the party had already finished our meals.(She said the ribs were fine, although they didn’t include any sides at all so it was sort of a lonely entrée.) They really brag on their fried apple pie, but please skip it — the apples are clearly canned and it’s nothing special. If you’re hungry for dessert, try the hot brownie with ice cream, or just pick something else up on your way home. Overall, the ambiance is fine — sort of what you would expect based on the name Cattlemen’s, the food is pretty good, and the service is friendly if not speedy. I just can’t get past a steakhouse not knowing how to cook a well done steak.

630pm reservation for 2. At 625pm, hostess tells us we can’t be seated until 645pm with a 630pm reservation for 2 — restaurant policy. Lots of open tables. We left, haven’t returned, and won’t.

My boyfriend and I go to Cattlemens at least once in 2 months. I ordered the Filet Mignon from my last visit, Medium Rare. They delivered! My steak was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes are good, and I also got it smothered with mushrooms and onions. The first time I tried this place, we went here for a group/business/fraternity dinner. It was a Pass-the-Torch event. The service is excellent. The room is pretty nice, although a bit dim, but I prefer it than super bright. We will definitely come back to this location.

My desire for a huge steak was real the other night so I had to finally stop at this location I’ve been passing for years. Great decision on my behalf. The wait was short for a Friday night. As for my food it didn’t disappoint. My steak was a perfect medium rare just how I ordered it. I ordered the sherif which was a humungous 2 lbs and I was devastated I wasn’t able to finish it in one sitting.

From the last time we had bad experience however we gave it another try because I loved how courtesy the cattlemen’s management were. They were sincerely apologetic while reaching out. That goes to show they care about their customers . We made a reservation for Saturday at 7:30 pm. We were seated within 15 mins of arrival. We noticed they were fully staff this time around. Our waitress was really attentive and kept checking in on us. The food came out within reasonable time. It was nice and hot this time around and it was 100% better than the last time. Food was amazing! Definitely glad we got to experience a great experience from the beginning to end, we will definitely be back!

For my partner’s 34th birthday, I wanted his dinner to be just as classy as the $ 600 watch I bought him. I made reservations for Ruth’s Chris, but when I notified him of of this, he insisted we try Cattleman’s. I was, in a word, shocked but open-minded(and relieved of an easy $ 200 bill). Cattleman’s turned out to be a great idea! The parking lot was totally filled up for a Thursday night, hinting at popularity. I fell in love as soon as I walked in to see my honey’s name written on their birthday board. Adorable! That alone put a beaming smile on his face. Before I go into food I’d like to mention how friendly and upbeat the waitresses are. Actually, even the host was incredibly professional and gave off really good vibes. I wish I had gotten her name, but our waitress was Natasha. She was very helpful and HONEST about questions we had for my partner’s meal. He is the red meat eater, so we wanted to give him a good first impression. After some debate he decided on the Cowboy. I ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli with pesto. I was relieved that I wasn’t restricted to a steak-only menu. Also, I have a thing or two for delicious pesto. The birthday boy’s plate came out beautifully. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a juicier, more attractive steak than this. I knew I had struck gold when he said the Cowboy didn’t even require any A1 sauce… that it was delicious on it’s own. As for my ravioli, my first thought was, «This has been sitting under a heat lamp for a while». Don’t you hate that? The noodles looked dry, and instead of freh, oily pesto, it was kind of stuck there on the ravioli. I thought about sending it back until I took my first bite. Oh.My.Goodness. The inner goodies packed so much creamy flavor, melting in my mouth. I threw my diet restrictions out the window. Eureka! The portion was quite generous as well. At the end of dinner, I snuck around the corner with Natasha to put a dessert order in. She sold me on the deep-fried apple pie with ice cream. About 10 minutes later, about 6 – 7 girls came out the with Natasha, candle-lit dessert in hand, to sing their very enthusiastic rendition of Happy Birthday. What a great end to our meal. I doubt we will hesitate to come back soon, on a date night or when we are in search of a cheerful dining experience. Yes, I am still obsessing over the pesto ravioli as I write this. It was that good.
