A few weeks ago, we came in for this year’s school physical (we had previously had another doctor who we loved, but we had to switch for insurance reasons). We waited in the waiting room for a good 30 minutes past our appointment time, and then after a quick weight and blood pressure check, we were put into another waiting room for another 90 minutes. I was afraid the office was going to close without my daughter being seen.
I’ve never gone to a pediatric doctor and NOT waited for a long time, but I’ve also never waited anywhere near as long as I did here.
While waiting, I noticed that the office was dirty. I mean, very dirty. I have worked in many restaurants and hospitals– and by my standards– this office was just filthy. It looked like the floors and walls hadn’t been cleaned in at least two months. And for a place where injections are done (although only every three hours, apparently) and who knows what bodily fluids may be caking every single surface, that’s not acceptable.
Finally, at some point, the doctor (not Dr. Biyo herself, but another doctor, or possibly physician’s assistant) comes in, and asks how the hearing and vision tests went. Um… what hearing and vision tests? She then proceeds through a series of statements like, «Oh, they didn’t do the hearing?» (shakes head) «Oh, they didn’t do the vision?» (shakes head) «Wow, I can’t believe they didn’t do that either…» So at this point I’m like, this is clearly not a tightly run ship.
The physician we saw that day was very kind to my daughter, and took one look at her rash and knew exactly what it was, gave us several options for treating it, and respected the option we chose. She did make sure that she eventually got those vision and hearing screenings, and also gave her a talk about strangers and body boundaries that I found to be very appropriate and useful.
So that’s all really cool, but given how the business was run, how filthy things were, and how bad communication was between staff members, I can’t possibly justify more than two stars.

Medical assigned me to this doctor. I took my two month old daughter in because she had red spots and dry patches all over her body (eczema) which I knew but I just wanted advice as to what to put on it. After and hour wait we were put into an exam room and had to wait another 15 minutes. I don’t remember her name but it wasn’t Dr. Biyo, finally came in to examine my daughter. She did a full physical exam and was asking me about her vaccines which she had just gotten a week prior at her old doctor. I told her she already had her two month shots. A couple minutes later apparently she didn’t understand and was going to give her vaccines again! What the hell?! After that she seemed like she was finished. I said are you going to check what I came in here for? And she said «oh why are you here for?» At the point I packed up my stuff and walked out. Ridiculous. Stay away!

Went in for a physical. First time at this practice. Place is conveniently located, office is clean, staff is friendly and general communication is clear and to the point. Actual physical was and professional. Thanks!

It’s not letting my update. This was a horrifying physically violent situation. Steer clear and protect your baby.

I took my son here for a procedure after he was born and my insurance was a HMO. This office insisted on collecting cash up front then only reimbursed me what my plan paid. According to my insurance this is in violation of her HMO network agreement. I was told that provider reimbursement is capitated or «capped» meaning by being in the HMO network she has agreed to accept the reimbursement rate. I was also told by my insurance that in an HMO, providers cannot collect full payment up front in cash and they cannot balance bill. After pursuing this with the medical group and finally getting my money back, I was then billed for an appointment that I was originally told I wasn’t being billed for because it was still follow up to the procedure.

Greg Flahive writes: Horrible experience. Brought my daughter in for a simple vaccine and she them wisked my daughter off to do a full exam without my permission! I then had to walk through the office to find my daughter to stop the exam. Borderline malpractice!!! Just another way to over charge the insurance companies!!! I took my son in to see this DR. Within 3 minutes of seeing my son she explained that she believes he has ADHD. That may be the case, or he may be 5. Let’s not jump to conclusions within the first three minutes.
We came in for a regular check up and to get a referral for a cardiologist or have his heart checked in the office due to him complaining of chest pains.
It has been a week and the office staff has not even submit a referral yet. This is an important issue and was not addressed as such. I would never advise someone to take their child to this office.

Awesome doctor that genuinely cares about the well being of our children. Honest as well as quick and to the point. Thumbs way way up.
