We decided to give Manderes a try last night and we were pleasantly surprised to find that it exceeded our expectations. I had the lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly… rare. My wife had the blackened shrimp and grits. The shrimp were plump and tasty but the grits were freakin awesome. They should serve them with every dish. Anyway, good food, good beer and wine selection. For us the food was 5 stars but I gave it a 4 due to how crowded and noisy it was but that speaks to how good the food was. Definitely going back for more grits and to try the oysters Rockefeller. They looked really good.

Sports bar? Mini rock n roll restaurant? Local pub hang out? I had no idea when we walked in. We’d called ahead to find out if we needed reservations, and we were told just drop in, that there would be plenty of room. A few moments later, we walked in, we were told that there’d be a wait. Thankfully, the wait was short, and the service quick. The menu isn’t huge, but there is plenty to choose from. Don’t expect happy hour during the weekend(Friday — Sunday). They do offer happy hour drinks though(until 6 pm) They offer some yummy sounding sandwiches on the menu, but they don’t serve them after 5 pm. WHAT?! I’m sure it’s because this is a small restaurant, and kitchen prep for dinner service can be crazy. We ordered the Black and Tan onion rings. Meh. Flavorless and the dipping sauce isn’t anything that helps. The mushroom risotto and grilled chicken was plated beautifully. In fact, from where we were seated, everything that came out of the kitchen was eye catching, and had the visual yum factor. The risotto was warm, flavorful, and seriously scrumptious. We scraped the plate for every last bite. The grilled chicken was thinly sliced, juicy, and had the get in my belly factor. I’d eat chicken every single day, if it was made this way. The chicken wings appeared to be overdone. They are actually breaded and fried. Ask for the sauce on the side. There are three choices; Wimpy bbq(my fav) medium(burn your mouth heat) or the hot(omg pass the milk to put out the fire). The breading is peppery and has its own spice. A bit salty for my tastebuds. There are plenty to enjoy and share. It wouldn’t be my go to, especially after trying the grilled chicken. I really want more of that chicken! The staff is friendly, and they really work at trying to get customers served with drink refills and food. More chicken please! It’s a great place to hang after work with coworkers, or even for date night. There are four large screen tvs for the sports enthusiast too! I still don’t know what«look» they are going for, but the kitchen is serving up seriously good eats!

Absolutely love this place! If you plan on heading here for a dinner, I would plan earlier, as it gets busy. I totally see why it’s so popular. Superior service. I had shared the Steak Alfredo with my mom and initially I think she was planning on chicken until she noticed someone else’s plate. So we switched over to steak. It was the first time in ever I had ordered a steak medium(don’t hate) and we both vouched after the meal we will not be sharing this again. We’re ordering one each! It was soooo good. A birthday meal for me, and the staff we’re perfect and did beautiful on a Saturday night. We were kind of in a rush, with a movie coming up on our time. But our wonderful waitress did such a great job at getting our drinks and food in quickly — without even knowing our plans! I highly recommend this place. I’m coming back for more steak!

Been meaning to check this place out. All the reviews were right on. The steak salad is the best I have ever had! They even had Pliny on tap. I was in heaven… Much more upscale than the local tap rooms in the area. The food is absolutely top notch which matches the beer selection.

Very mellow, casual drinking and dining spot.(I confess that I did not eat the food. But the beer selection was amazing!). The staff was incredibly warm and friendly, and the customers were incredibly diverse, ranging from elderly people(some of whom were greeted with hugs by the hostess) to couples to families with infants. A very friendly, welcoming place(and a comfortable little outdoor area in front, with sofas to recline on). Next time I go, I will try the food. From all accounts, it is very good. But what I saw today impressed me quite a bit!

Great place to eat; the food hasn’t disappointed yet! The steak sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had, and the Bruschetta is absolutely the best I’ve ever had, hands down. My only negative is just that the place is so good and the more people that find out about it, the longer I have to wait for a table when we go there… side effect of success. My wife would also say she wishes they had Corona, as that’s her libation of choice… maybe someday… it would be nice to have a small selection of even a few bottled beers of more mainstream(not craft) selection. Service has always been good and the owner makes every effort to offer a friendly, local experience. You won’t be disappointed with a meal and a craft beer at Manderes.

Manderes is sooo amazing. I always get the Steak Risotto, and it’s always so mouth-watering, hot and flavorful.(Get something with beef, trust me) Try their Steak Alfredo or Korean Bulgogi(Korean BBQ). I love their alcohol selection as well. I love the laid back environment, and the fast service with a laugh and a smile. This is one of my favorite date night spots! It’s intimate and small, with upscale food and a trendy atmosphere. Well done. You didn’t just MEAT expectations, you exceeded them.

We had lunch after shopping at Lowe’s. I had the ahi tuna salad. Tuna was cooked perfectly. It was on a fresh bed of greens. Hubby had the beef sandwich and fries which was top notch. Service was great. Beer was really good. We have driven by this place before but didn’t realize it was a pub and restaurant. The sign doesn’t indicate what it is. It is worth the time to ferret this place out.

How this place got beyond 4 stars is very confusing. No spicy food in sight. No coors light. Prawns still had a bunch of ice on then, soup was good, main entrée, marginal.

Cute place. They only serve drinks on patio which is a bummer :( Service was very slow, but really liked our server/bartender. He was really busy in his defense, but i still waited 15 min. For him to notice i wanted to order and 15 min. To notice i wanted to pay. But he was really nice! I had a pilsner and a burger with crab corn chowder. Best soup i have ever had in my life! Burger was good, but not the best i ever had, lol. Great beer selection. Ordered xango. Its deep fried cheescake with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel. Yum!!! Will be back to try other food. Lots of regulars that speak highly of this place.

Expensive but pretty solid burgers here! Plus, the side salads are huge. Lunch burger with wedge cut fries for $ 10(no cheese). Probably most disappointing aspect of my food was the additional $ 1 for cheddar cheese(why so much more?). Burger was solid-juicy & flavorful. Patty also tasted crusty and good. Wedge cut fries-plentiful and delicious. Overall very good, just a bit pricey at $ 10 for their cheapest full lunch option($ 11 if you add cheese!). Side salad was also very generously portioned with a nice low fat vinaigrette option-a pretty good deal at only $ 4! Service was exceptional-fast and courteous. They checked on us and refilled our waters several times and made sure everything tasted great. Overall recommend this place as a more upscale lunch place with lovely staff, but wouldn’t visit regularly on account of their higher lunch prices.

Great vibe. Good food. Really nice beers and wine. The steak kabobs, ribs, pork chops, Korean bbq, lettuce wraps, crab cakes: All delicious, esp. With a Boont Amber. We enjoy it pre movie, and or with friends and family. Something for everyone.

I’m not sure how I have frequented this establishment for so many years without ever having written a review. This place is fantastic! Best for date nights and adult parties, but they have also been very welcoming of our party of 6(four adults, one infant and one toddler). This is a classy, cozy place with phenomenal food(might I recommend the bulgogi, burgers or the Italian meatballs?) and service to match. They have a large selection of beer on tap, and even more in bottles. They also have a great selection of wine, if that’s your thing. I highly recommend Manderes, just make sure to get there early to avoid the wait!

And then I ordered ravioli mushroom instead so she said four cheese but I want white sauce I got red sauce and they using Togo Container Foam. Its messy! I hope they separate the sauce and using Plastic Containers Togo. I’m so disappointed.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time, and we finally did. It is definitely not worth visiting. We stood at the entry for about 10 minutes while various employees glanced over at us, and immediately went on with what they are doing. There were several empty tables, but the sign clearly said«Wait to be seated», so we waited. It was very uncomfortable standing there, being glanced at, and just ignored. The restaurant is one huge and VERY noisy room, so we contemplated leaving at already having to wait and realizing we were in for one VERYLOUD meal. We finally got seated. The tables are very close together, so you can hear innumerable loud conversations all around you. We waited for our server, who finally appeared. She had no smile on her face, and was clearly not thrilled to be there that night. We ordered drinks, and we also tried to order an appetizer, but she turned around and left. She returned with our drinks. I was given a glass of Chardonnay that clearly came out of a bottle that had been open for some time. It was awful. She returned to take our dinner order, and never asked us about our drinks. I didn’t even bother telling her about the horrid wine, as it was loud, and she was grumpy. We were hungry, so we just wanted to get through this, and get out of there. Our dinners came and we ate them. The server came over, and she did NOT inquire if we liked our meals; she just asked my husband if he wanted another beer. She noticed my wine glass was still full, so she turned around and left. I had the pasta Alfredo with shrimp, which was good, but there are plenty of places to find a good pasta Alfredo without the miserably loud atmosphere, lousy service, and where you don’t have to be ignored at the door for so long. My husband said his burger tasted like a burger, it was fine but nothing special. We paid and left. The server didn’t thank us or even say goodbye. There are plenty of good restaurants in Folsom, this one was very disappointing.

I decided to take my mother out for lunch somewhere else besides our usual favorite local eateries. Happily enough(with the help of Unilocal) we found ourselves at Manderes, ready & eager to see what they have to offer for lunch! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but layed out nicely so that it doesn’t really feel its size. The staff is very friendly, was in great spirits, smiling & laughing the entire time, which lightened up the mood of the entire place(a plus to any establishment in my opinion)! To begin, we started with beers(they only carry beer & wine) & the asparagus spears which came with a wasabi ranch & a cucumber dill ranch. AMAZEBALLS& soooo much :) The wasabi ranch gave it a nice spice & the cucumber dill ranch gave it a deliciously cool freshness! My mother ordered the broccoli cheese soup, the most decadent broccoli cheese soup I’ve had in a long time(almost like a cheese fondue… That damn good) & the BLT w/onion rings. My mom said the BLT was a deliciously perfect bacon sandwich of YUMMINESS… The onion rings(unfortunately) were strangely sweet to both of us. They were sooo sweet that they tasted like they were soaked in pineapple juice prior to being fried which made it hard(for us) to eat. I had the steak salad(rare steak, green salad, bleu cheese crumbles, red onions, red wine vinaigrette & sliced avocados) which was the most AMAZING steak salad I’ve EVERHAD!!! The steak was sooo tender & perfectly seasoned, the vinaigrette rounded out the whole salad perfectly(the perfect balance of tang & sweetness), the red onions weren’t too overbearing & the avocados put the whole salad over the top! I’m seriously in love with this salad… It was OMG sooooooo damn good! I was happy I FINALLY made it to Manderes & even more happy that it was as terrific I was told! If your in the area stop by & have their steak salad! You won’t be disappointed!

I ordered the surf and turf and the food was perfectly seasoned. The steak was cooked to perfection(I prefer med) the only reason I gave 4 stars was because there was a little wait for me to receive my food and get my bill but trust me it’s well worth the wait.

FOOD — Crab Cakes: 3 large crab cakes over a bed of cabbage. Perfectly fried and great sauce. The crab was too minced for me. I like my cakes a little meatier. The cabbage dressing was amazing. 3.5÷5 — Calamari Strips: large, tender, strips of calamari. The batter lacked flavor and the I didn’t care for the sauce it came with. 3⁄5 — Race 5 Hot Wings: crispy wings, saucy wings with a side of carrots and celery. 4⁄5 — Bulgogi Hoagie: steak marinated in bulgogi sauce grilled sandwich. The meat was tender and had good flavor but lacked sauce. The sandwich was dry. The sweet potato fries were delicious. 3.5÷5 — Angus Burger: angus beef burger, added cheddar, jalapeño, bacon, and mushrooms. The beef could have been more seasoned, it lacked flavor. The burger was also dry. Onion rings were delicious. 3.5÷5 SERVICE Fast and friendly. 4⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS Huge portions, mediocre to good food. I wasn’t wowed by anything but I was stuffed!

This place is great for drinks and food. Easy to miss with the other restaurants surrounding. Wait times can vary but worth it none the less. Staff is usually ontop of everything. Tried various proteins including some chicken wings, steak, and risotto. The chicken wings are some of the best. Various level of spice. Got to get the spicy wings here. Sweet and spicy. A side of blue cheese or ranch. A little celery or carrot garnish. To wash down some. Extra messy but so good. Steak was tender, seasoned and appropriately priced. Risotto was great not overly creamy savory. Portioned appropriately and looked as good it tasted. Service and food were good. I have been a return customer that hasn’t been around in while.
