I honestly didn’t even know Mimi’s Café was still in business. I recently moved back to El Dorado Hills in July 2015, and previously lived in Visalia, where the Mimi’s Café shut down. I’ve been back in the area since July, and finally went here for the first time with my grandma since she invited me. Every time I go to a Mimi’s Café, the menu is different. I’m assuming so much money is wasted on the menu changes that they had to reduce the size of their meal portions. What used to be a plentiful basket of bread slices that they give you when you first sit down is now a couple miniature rolls and a few petite raisin bread things. The crepes were great, but the side salad that came along with my meal wasn’t too great. It wasn’t tossed well, as some greens were way too soggy, and some did not have a single drop of dressing on it. The service & the prices were both pretty good. We were the only people in the restaurant, as we went there during an odd time. However, even though we were the only two people in the entire restaurant, I still had to get up and go ask for more hot water for our tea. I’d come here again, but I definitely see why they are shutting down some of their restaurants & why their ratings have gone down so much. Carson C. El Dorado Hills, CA

Ordered take out which consisted of baked chicken and fries. The chicken was dry and looked and tasted as if it had been reheated or kept heated for days. Same with the fries… dry, old, heated up or kept heated until there was very little potato inside. Such a shame this restaurant could be so good with the proper management and staff.

Haven’t been to Mimi’s in a while but stopped in today and loved it! Great staff and food! Our waitress was Taryn and she was very friendly and knowledgeable and she had some great suggestions for what I was looking for. Ended up getting the chicken and guacamole sandwich and it was amazing! Read some of the other Unilocal reviews and 100% disagree with the negatives. My experience was nothing but positive and enjoyed both the male and female managers walking around greeting and checking in with the guests. My server suggested the new Apple Cider muffin so I got one to go for breakfast tomorrow but tried a piece tonight and it was delicious! Will be returning soon!

Place looks nice from outside. Service is ok. The only thing I liked was the fries. The chicken was plain and I did not enjoy it at all. I don’t think I’ll come here again.

We stopped in for lunch. As diners go it was ok. The food came rather quickly and the service was good. I’m not big on diners but it did fill us up and the price wasn’t bad.

Filthy dirty bathrooms, booths, walls, hostess station littered with spilled over garbage right at the Managers feet. Thick coat of gooey dust on rail at our booth and some sort of old goo or soda all over the wall and picture. Plain old nasty. Tartar sauce looked like old jar of rancid mayo, yellow and gel like. Wilted green salad. Quiche«Lorraine» made with lunch meat ham, hot real ham nor bacon as indicated on menu, it was sour, inedible.(Not the good tart Swiss kind of sour; old, not properly refrigerated kind of sour. It’s been several hours and I have not become sick to my surprise. Both me and my husband were expecting to feel the results of food poisoning when we left. So happy it did not happen. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive and understanding; too bad she is serving in what has become a pig sty. This used to be on our go-to breakfast spot for the last decade. Speaking of spots, this is a BIGBLACKSPOT on the good name and reputation of Mimi’s. A shame. The manager should be totally ashamed walking around in all his restaurant filth and disgust. I am so bummed, loved Mimi’s before. Far too much choice in the Sacto region to ever be back~

Took family here from out of town for dinner tonight. Great waitress… But immediately noticed portions had changed on both the pot roast and famous turkey dinner. The pot roast looked like a very small piece of meat little savory gravy and small serving of the augratin potatoes. The turkey dinner was also lacking portion size. There was a huge amount of potatoes very little Turkey and hardly any gravy. The chicken pot pie was good. I had the mushroom brie hamburger that is new to their menu. Actually very good, cooked as desired at medium rare.

WARNING: DONOTPATRONIZEMIMI’S CAFEINFOLSOM. The food portions have dramatically been reduced in direct proportion to the super-sized big fat waitresses serving, what use to be fairly decent corporate food, but now can only be best described as rodent sized fare. Recently, I was victimized at Mimi’s Café in Folsom when I ordered and consumed the well known pot roast entrée. The pot roast portion was sadly minimal as previous stated, but so were everyone’s else’s portions at my table. The turkey, the chicken pot pie and the mushroom burger were all so small Mickey Mouse and friends would have cried and demanded a refund. I could go on about the food and personnel, but Mimi’s corporate people will believe me once their business model and jobs are gone. Hope it happens soon. BEWARE, IFOFFEREDWINE with Mimi’s Café label on it, run as fast as you can out the door because it tastes like ZOMBIEVOMIT, and only fit for cleaning concrete stains. I don’t know why people are dogging this place. Every time I’ve eaten here the food was great and the service was right on. I usually get the Roast Beef sandwich au jus with the extra fixings, which is my favorite. However, this year I didn’t feel the Thanksgiving thing so I took my mother, wife, and her son to Thanksgiving lunch. They had prepared for it by adding extra staff and we got there at noon and were seated immediately. The roasted turkey dinner was excellent(but I could have done without the sweet mashed jams). Everything else was spot on. The turkey was delicious. They even had homemade cranberry sauce. Not the jellied stuff out of a can. I was impressed. This will probably be where I’m having Turkey day next year. I highly recommend this Mimi’s Café. It is always clean as a whistle and the service and food are great. I guess you can’t please everyone and there’s a lot of whiners out there.

Wow! By far the worst Mimi’s Café ever! I love Mimi’s and I’ve been to Mimi’s all over the Sacramento area. This one by far had the slowest service from the beginning to end and they were not even busy & the blonde«hostess»… Well, I wouldn’t even consider her a hostess.

The food was about the same as any other Mimi’s. Solid. The roasted breakfast potatoes weren’t seasoned like they usually are but they were still good. The service was terrible. Our server Cherry was all over the place. She kept dropping stuff and was weird. She couldn’t even remember whose food was whose.

Ordered the sides package for thanksgiving. It was the most awful food I’ve ever tasted. Everything tasted like it was just slapped together. It was all so bland and chef did half ass job. I had to throw away OVER half of it at the end of the night. All 6 sides!!! My guests tried and and never went back for seconds. The most unappetizing sides ever! Not only that they forgot to package the cranberry sauce when I picked it up so I called to let them know and they weren’t even apologetic or anything. I went back to get it but it was awful too! Should’ve just saved myself the trip. Less food to throw away. One other thing when they packaged it up, the food was too hot. So when they stacked it, the plastic smushed together and was ready to spill all over the place. When I got home the paper bag was soaked and the food ripped through the soaked area. Already a bad indication of awful service, packaging and product! Never again! Stay away! Waste of money. I should’ve read the recent reviews. Haven’t been to this restaurant for awhile. I guess I’m not the only one who noticed the awful service and the lack of care. This place used to be good. But it’s changed a lot and the consistent review of how bland and yucky the food has been recently… Hello? Do yourself a favor and don’t set foot on the door. I won’t be coming back ever!

Use to be a good place to eat but it has really changed. The salad wilted and oily. They change their menu too many times, and just keeps getting worse. Too bad they do not do there own chopped lettuce instead of getting it in the bag.

Service was good except for the fact that the food was absolutely terrible. My friend ordered a Cobb salad but somehow bits and pieces of cashews ended up in it. Also, the meatloaf and mash potatoes was overly salty and the gravy seemed so packaged. The food was overly seasoned and besides the bread, this place sucked. It’s sad because when I was younger this was my favorite place to eat.

The host(a blonde male) needs more training on how to be a host. Because when we entered the restaurant there was a couple already waiting to be seated. And the four of us waited and stood there waiting for someone(the host). We waited 2 minutes. The host finally came and he took the first couple to a booth. After seating the first couple the blonde male host instead decided to answer the phone instead of seating us first. Our waitress Amanda is fabulous. She smiled a lot and is nice and friendly. The food was delicious but quantity of food was not comparable to the price. The price was too much and not enough food.

Use to be a good spot for soup & bread and bread pudding. Menu changes and the change of the bread & bread pudding, the unfriendly server make this restaurant a no return for us. To much microwave cooking. By by.

When having lunch at Mimi’s in Folsom a group came in with a DOG in a stroller, the DOG was taken out the stroller and was held in the arms of one of the people, can you say DOG hair flying in the food of other customers. If that was not bad enough the DOG licked and smelled the table. These are not service DOGS, service DOGS are trained to seat on the floor. I immediately told the manager and because the DOG had a vest, which can be purchased online by anyone she was unable to ask them to leave but ask them to move because the stroller was blocking the walk way. After the group was moved the manager came and apologized and explained that because the DOG had a vest she could not ask the group to leave. I told her that the waitress did not clean the table after the group left and the DOG had be allowed to lick and smell the table top. The manager ask the waitress to please clean the table. The waitress was very angry and because she knew I had said something to the manager the waitress positioned her REAREND in my face over my food to assist the table next to us. The waitress is a heavy set women, squeezed herself in this small area between the tables as to say KISSMY A__. I was in SHOCK I did not finish eating, this waitress should not be a person working with food and the public I ask her name and was told Terry R. I LOVE the other people at Mimi’s but the DOGS and this particular waitress have made me say NOMORE… Because this is not the first experience with these so called SERVICEDOGS at the tables and now a waitress putting her A__in my face

Old dingy dirty restaurant with foul smell. I stayed because i was hungry with little lunchtime to spare. Finally a tiny piece of fish arrived with plate of fries — totally bland. I will not be returning.

Came here because I was craving breakfast.FAIL. Cold, waaaay undercooked food, French toast and eggs isn’t rocket science. The cooks need to take more time making sure that the food they make is edible before leaving the kitchen. Next time we’ll go to Karen’s bakery in folsom. Chain restaurants are a joke.
