Met Nazzy yesterday and was very kind to offer the VIP area for my buddies bday along with a couple of free admission.

I enjoy going in Sunday’s for the Blues Jam, not as crowded, however going out to get air on the patio is next to impossible because there is so much pot smoking, I can’t even breathe!

Located in historic sutter street, this place is pretty bad. Every time I’ve gone here with friends we get hit on by old women. You can’t move around or order anything yet barely breathe, they also charge cover past 7pm so you’re forced to get there early. I’ve only gone on weekends and it’s just terrible. There’s no food at all unless you want pizza from Chicago fire. The music is always old stuff like from the 70s and never anything hip or new. If you go next door they have modern music in a little tiny space but that’s it. Seems like they cater to old adults more than anything. I’d rather go to folsom Lake bowl where it’s equally as crowded with people in their early 20s to late 30s. If you like getting hit on by old people, not getting a drink and not being able to move at all and pay for it, go here. If you’re an older person, this is probably the greatest place on earth.

I try to avoid this place when there is an event or on a Friday or Saturday night. It gets way too crowded and you can barely order a drink or move around. Not to mention you usually pay a cover to endure it. Lol I’ve been on a weekday before though to just have a drink or two with friends when it’s not as busy and the customer service is good, music is good. Beer selection is a little weak though.

I have been to Powerhouse many times over the past 10 or so years. It’s always been a fun place to go to hang out with friends and listen to live music. Well recently we planned the after party to our reception here and it was awesome! The owner helped us out to get an awesome booth to seat like 25 people!(Thank you!) And then Lauren was great too and helped us plan the whole thing and was on it getting everyone drinks and making sure we were taken care of, etc. She is definitely an asset to this place — always smiling and very friendly. Overall, all our wedding guests had a great time and loved the drinks! I know I did too! I definitely recommend Powerhouse, especially if you want a change from the typical DJ.

I absolutely love this place! It’s always a fun, casual, lively time with a great crowd out to enjoy themselves without taking themselves too seriously. We just celebrated my husbands 50 th birthday by reserving the Vip area for 24 of us to dance and enjoy Tainted Love. From my first interaction with Nazzy(she books the reserve areas) to our fabulous dedicated service that night from Sunny, the customer service and very welcoming attitude was fabulous and so appreciated! They made us feel they were excited to celebrate with us, allowing us to come decorate our area with whatever we wanted the day of our party, bringing the birthday boy a special giant frozen drink and constant check ins with us for drinks, asking how everything was and if we needed anything. You all made the night truly memorable and I’m already planning my next party!

Love this place. Just recently started going to the local bars and this place by far is one of my most favorite. Lets start with the building. It’s super cute. It is older which gives it the hometown touch. It is connected to another establishment, so it is easy to move back and forth from one end to the other. The bar tenders are amazing. The girls there are so stinking cute. They are attentive to everyone, and they move quickly. They make amazing drinks. Their bar tricks are pretty cool. Lots of seating and free water. Oh and you can rent hookahs there. I’ve gotten one every time i’ve gone. This place is fun, young and entertaining. If you are into the bar scene, check this place out. If you have been there before, go back. It’s pretty awesome.

I like going here to dance on Saturday nights when they have a good band playing. The crowd is diverse and fun, they also have a good beer selection. If you don’t like the music just go outside to Scarlet’s and have fun dancing there. There’s usually pretty good music playing. I love the outside areas you can relax in and if you like cigars they sell them also.

Love this place! I always have so much fun when I go here. There is live music at powerhouse, even an upstairs where you can watch from above, and a patio. Go outside and it’s a cigar bar/hookah lounge, and then next door there is a dj and dancing. I like wandering between all three, there is a different feel to each one and the people who work there are always hecka nice and look like they are having fun. You can go in jeans, or in a dress and heels, and feel comfortable in either… Which is a bigggg plus for me.

10 years ago it would have been 5. I was there last Saturday night with some girlfriends. We are all married and have no expectations of meeting any guys. First off the staff was actually very nice and accommodating. But that’s all that I can say that was good at this place. The guys that come here are obnoxious and we did not put out the please talk to me vibe at all. Secondly I’m about 99% sure I was Roofied from some dark haired weirdo at the bar. It was my second drink and about 20 – 30 minutes after I drank it I could barely walk to my friends car an became violently ill on the way home. I cannot patronize bars where dudes lurk to roofie unsuspecting women.

Didn’t think much about the place standing from the outside. But once inside. My mind was blown! What an awesome event area where the beer flows.

1.) Could the Saturday bar man be anymore rude? Nope! He was THE rudest most condescending jerk, it is no wonder only 3 people were in the place. We doubled the head count and didn’t bother anyone yet we were treated as an inconvenience. But clearly doing business with grace and kindness are not his thing. 2.) Does he even know how to make a nice drink? One would think if you don’t have people skills and you are working as a «bartender» that you would at least know how to make a nice drink or serve a proper back. Hands down the nastiest, saltiest, unbalanced margarita ever tasted. A monkey could make it better. I also ordered a coke back and it was served in a warm glass with no ice, which yielded zero carbonation. He looks like he would be an affable guy but not one ounce of kindness for my mother, her boyfriend and definitely not for me. Thanks for adding such pleasure to our 1 reunion after living so far apart for a year. Thanks man for making us feel so welcome! SCARLETT next door is much nicer. You have been warned.

My husband enjoys coming here for live band karaōke and I came along tonight. I think I’ll skip these karaōke nights in the future. I couldn’t hear most of the singers over the band, which I heard several reasons for and it did get a little better towards the end. I’m not a germaphobe and usually kind of laugh it off when people are, but the chairs are pretty gross and the bathroom had layers of dust in places I’d expect to be cleaned. I like the idea of the bar but it needs a good cleaning and some reupholstered chairs! So if you don’t mind not hearing the singers, or hearing them screech into the mic to try to be heard over the music, come on out for live band karaōke. I don’t sing so I can’t say what it’s like from that perspective. I have heard a couple live bands(not karaōke) here and enjoyed the atmosphere, just bring along some hand sanitizer.

Absoutely filthy from top to bottom. Some of the stools are rotten, and the carpet? Don’t look. My wife and I enjoy dive bars, but this place would take a lot of work to bring it up to dive bar status. Hold your nose!

We always go when The SPAZMATICS are in town! :-) The staff waitstaff, bartenders and everyone is very nice and fun! Hard to rate a bar. They have beer pitchers by only certain ones by the pitcher. Their mixed drinks come out good, some places doesn’t taste like there is alcohol in it. Or it tastes to sweet or sour. We have been here when it was a different band. The place seemed to get to crowded. I wish they would limit the amount of people they allow in sometimes. This bar has a lot of history and fun decorations. I like looking around the room to see all the different art works. I miss that old bar feel.

This rating is my experience… not a normal person’s experience. They have a cover… which in my opinion is so stupid! $ 15 but… someone else paid for my cover which made me go… YAY! There are tons of people there… likely because its a decent joint… but its mainly people over the age of 35… soooooo if you like being hit on by drunk 40 year old women… this place is for YOU! I like the live music part of the place, which is a pretty big reason why i like this place. I also very much enjoy the outside seating that is heated(hey everyone else… heat the outside parts of your establishments!!! NOW!). They have a very friendly staff who try to be part of whatever is happening, very happy, always dancing and singing while working… like the seven dwarves… but not creeps. THEVERDICT: It costs $ 15 to enter so… you gotta pick your poison. I really like this place though, and I strongly suggest trying it out… especially if someone else is paying.(get someone very intoxicated and trick them into paying.

Love this place. Good beer on tap.(Guinness) and local options. The staff is very nice and helpful. The security aren’t dickheads like a lot of bars. The bartender is super chill. Come by on every Wednesday night for local music showcases. The douche factor can be high at times but it’s Folsom, it happens. Cougar town at times for sure. The upstairs balcony is awesome for the unfriendly, creepers, when the floor is packed or just a cool different vantage point.
