This store has been my go-to since I moved here. The staff are always welcoming and happy to assist in finding something. It’s rare to go to a grocery store where staff are actually smile as they help you walk your groceries to your car. The seafood is always fresh and the rotisserie chicken price has yet to be beat. The produce is better than what I find at Raley’s or Walmart down the street. The manager is always on the floor interacting with customers and it’s rare I don’t get a warm greeting when I walk into the store. The pharmacist has also been wonderful, getting prescriptions ready in 10 minutes while I shop, unlike other pharmacies where you have to come back hours later and find the prescriptions still haven’t been filled. I’m sad to hear the store is closing by the end of the month. Thank you to all the staff who have made these years of grocery shopping so pleasant.

I don’t shop here often but do when I’m close by and usually picking up a prescription next door at CVS. I swear some of the people that work here use to work at the Lucky’s store at the same location. I really miss that store. Anyway, I’ve found salad dressing here at WinCo prices but also like Winco, I’m a bit disappointed in the produce section. Seriously, what does it take to get healthy looking fresh raspberries? Not sure what it is about me with raspberries and jerky… and bacon. Nice people work here… jury is still out on the pharmacy people next door at CVS. Hey, at least it’s not as bad as the pharmacy reviews I’ve been reading about Target in El Dorado Hills. Those are stellar bad. Bike parking and next door to Chipotle. I miss Lucky’s too.

I’ve got to say, I had something very, um, interesting happen here. My boyfriend and I were buying ice, he said something that was not very funny, but for some reason I laughed anyways. He then turned to the head-clerk(presumably, because he was watching self-check), and said, «She just faked a laugh on me! Can you believe that?» Now, first of all, I totally respect the fact that he had the response coming to him, I just didn’t expect it from a grocery store employee, who said, «Well, it’s not the worst thing she could fake. As long as she doesn’t fake the important things.» I’m not offended. I thought it was pretty funny. It’s just that I’m a grocery checker at a different company, and I would never personally say that to a patron of my business, so we both just kind of stood there with dropped jaws for a second before I said, «Um, what was that?» And then he repeated it word for word! Thanks for listening to my story. I really felt that I needed to share that with someone. Anyways, Save-Mart is just as fantastic as every other evil corporation grocery store out there, and maybe even a little better! Here is what keeps me coming back occasionally even though I no longer work in their parking lot: They are pretty clean. The customer service has always been decent. I have never waited in any super long lines. Their enchiladas from their deli are amazing and addictive and blissful. They are the only place I know of who sells Bing energy drinks(two flavors, even). They’re the only place I’ve seen Bolthouse Farms Egg Nog. The prices seem decent enough.

Went to buy alcohol and the older cashier woman was extremely rude to me. She acted snotty to me when she saw my id since it doesn’t look too much like me since it was a picture of me from 5 years ago so I showed her my expired license also to prove that I am actually 21. But she just continued to act rude to me and I thanked her and said have a good night and all she did was roll her eyes. Never coming back.

For groceries, this place is okay. They have decent prices and a modest variety of products. Their store brand items, however, are a hit or miss. For example, I’ve tried their Sunnyside cream cheese and Sunnyside«wheat thins» and the former tasted like a watery paste while the latter had ZERO of the flavor magic Wheat Thins had(I really love Wheat Thins). One Sunnyside item that was actually pretty tasty was their potato chips. While this is an okay place for groceries and very convenient since I live about two minutes away, I will not come back here unless forced to. I would rather go to Target or go out of my way to drive to Safeway on Prairie City. The reason is the cashiers! Some are way too nosey or just downright rude. One particular unsavory experience I had was when I came in to buy just one 24oz. Sierra Nevada as part of an anniversary gift for my boyfriend(it’s his favorite beer). Every lane was pretty busy that day and there were quite a few people behind me once I reached the cashier lady. After she checked my ID and rang me up, I handed her my Savemart rewards card, which gives customers points toward gas at Shell, and she gave me this snappy response: «You know you don’t get discounts with this card right? It’s just for gas.» DUHLADY. FIRST of all when customers sign up for the card, they are told what the card can be used for. SECOND, your items that are on sale are labeled in the aisles. She gave me such a judging look and attitude as if she thought I was getting drunk on a Wednesday afternoon at 11. I couldn’t believe how rude she was, and in front of all those customers behind me! I just told her yes, I knew, and just please give me my gas rewards points so I can pay. After that embarrassing situation I have tried not to give Savemart anymore of my business. I’m sure there are plenty of nice cashiers who work there but she thoroughly ruined it for me. Sorry.

This store is okay. Save Mart is the only store that sells a specific drink I like. This forces me to go there 1 – 2 times a week. The store was formally an Albertsons(which was really gross) — when Save Mart opened, they splashed some paint on the walls– but the store is the same. The men’s bathroom is very dirty, the walls are disintegrating around the toilet and they always smell.

Fantastic Store! Produce is great 100% of the time. Joyce in the deli is the friendliest person ever!!! She truly goes above and beyond. Staff in general is very nice and genuine. Very helpful :-) Store is clean and very well organized, with excellent parking right in front almost always open!
