Studio 24

This whole business is built upon quality and integrity — Studio 24 is the real deal. I attended the studio for years, working my way up through their classes and took them up on all of their services as well. With their help, building my talent and career, I was able to acquire an agent, and follow on to book multiple commercials, TV roles and short films in the San Francisco area. I have recently made the move to LA to further my career. I can say without a doubt that compared to all the classes I have audited or studios I have attended in LA, S24 is my favorite. They provide clear instructions on how to breakdown a scene, and a character; they provide a safe and compelling environment to take risks as an artist and try out new approaches to your work; they give sound advise and services that are bar none; they take a true interest in each individual and will work to grow you personally depending on your goals, strengths and weaknesses. It is with full confidence and joy that I recommend S24 to you — you will find no better place to learn and grow as an artist, and no better place to get your materials.

Studio 24 is legitimate and informative. If you plan on being a professional actor and you currently live not too far from Folsom, this studio helps you prepare for the business aspect of the industry and explains what you should know before moving forward to the LA or NY market. I currently live in LA as a working actress and I didn’t have any acting training prior to studio 24. I’ve lived here for a few months now and have been able to land auditions and meetings with management, etc. These classes are expensive, but it’s worth the investment if you want to get proper training and be more prepared for the big leagues. I highly recommend this place!

What is a Dream… Webster’s Dictionary defines a dream as «an idea or vision that is created in your imagination and that is not real», I dreamt of being an Actor my whole life performing at rundown improv theaters in Downtown Sacramento to classes in college but it wasn’t until I stumbled across Studio 24 that I actually felt like I was living my dream. As an Actor in LA now, I can truly say that Cody Dorkin was one of the best teachers I have ever had! His talent to teach people the art of acting is undeniably unique. If you put the time in to learn what he’s teaching, I promise you will see results. When I found Cody the first question I asked myself was «What have I been doing all these years?», I wish I would have found him sooner! Also, the gracious Mary McCusker holds workshops at studio 24 every couple months! If you don’t know who she is, look her up! Besides the Acting classes the production quality is beyond superb. I did my Demo Reel with Studio 24 as well and I can honestly say for the quality you get its a lot cheaper than what you will pay in LA, Cody captures all of the shots and the talented Kyler Spickler edits them. I have landed tons of auditions with the Demo Reel. The Talented Dorkin and Spickler may be the most talented team in the Northern California area! Thank you Studio 24 for helping me live out my Dreams and the incredible jumpstart of my Acting Career!

Getting started at Studio 24 has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. From the very first inquiry on classes, to getting headshots done, to pep talks over the phone, through email and in person, Cody, Jaime and Kyler have been so incredibly instrumental in this journey in entertainment. The level of kindness, professionalism, knowledge and integrity make Studio 24 one of the elite places to discover and/​or develop your craft. The culture and community of talent is wonderful and I can’t rant and rave enough about how thankful I am for this experience.

This place is a joke and a waste of money. Granted i can only speak for the headshot services. The classes may be a whole other story but i highly doubt it. If i hear one more person from that studio say «in the business» I will throw up. As an actual working professional «in the business» I can tell you the information they tried to pawn off on me was ridiculous. I know there is a place for this type of business. Hopeful families fork over hundreds of dollars in hopes of getting their big break, but i can promise you this is not the way.
The quality of work done on the headshots is fine, you will more than likely get a use-​able shot to take with you on auditions. But dont be fooled, they are no more industry professionals than John Robert Powers, ProScout or any those other scam studios.

«Show» and «Business». Two words that actually go together, but in an acting class rarely is the word «Business» incorporated. The «Show» portion is usually 99.9% of the class, but not at Studio 24.
I’ve been lucky enough to do stage shows locally, and was getting a head shot done, when the guy who was taking my head shots asked if it was for TV/​Film. I never thought of myself as being able to do that, but he said I should give it a shot. I looked at various classes, and came upon Studio 24. It’s main focus is on TV/​Film, so I figured what better place to get my feet wet and see what it’s all about.
Needless to say, this class, and the Studio 24 institution is in my opinion, the best acting class I’ve ever been able to attend. I took a class at an extremely reputable acting company in San Francisco, which was amazing, but coming across Studio 24, it blew that class out of the water. Cody Dorkin (owner and instructor) has the patience of Job, and made sure that ALL students got as much time as everybody else involving feed back, technique and pushing everyone to be their best. Being older than almost everybody in the class, I really wanted to scream out to everybody what they actually had here, and what they had is AMAZING. Cody has the ability to pinpoint a performance, tweak it, know his students, and direct them in a way that gives results that dropped my jaw more than a few times.
The «Business» aspect of the class is just as noteworthy as the acting portion. Cody gives very detailed information about getting an agent, how to approach an audition, local talent agencies, and how to best prepare as an actor to GET PARTS. He gives a blueprint as to going down to Los Angeles, and because of his film acting background (look him up on IMDB), he knows what he’s talking about. He coaches you to be at the top of your game during an audition, and what goes through a casting directors mind. It’s information that EVERY actor needs to hear and REALIZE that this is truly a BUSINESS.
If you are curious about acting for the camera, or just acting in general, you owe it to yourself to get enrolled in Studio 24.

Great Headshots. Great Instruction.
My son had a set of head shots done at Studio 24 for some acting resumes he needs to submit. Cody did an exceptional job. He was a great help in selecting the correct clothes for the «look» we were going for.
The new facility is great and it allows a great deal of natural light for lighting the images. We were reviewing the photos online within minutes of wrapping the shoot. The problem was that there were too many excellent shots to choose from.
There are a lot of good portrait photographers out there. Acting head shots are a speciality and it is important to have someone who knows how to do a good headshot. Not everyone can do them. Studio 24 has this down to a science.
Got some excellent coaching from Jackie on developing the acting career. Studio 24 is an excellent part of developing the skills to succeed in the film/​TV acting world. This place would be exceptional if it were based in LA. The fact that it is here in Folsom makes it even better.
