Cool River

Service was good– but we were one of two tables in the place so I should hope it would be fast service. But the food, not good! I ordered the Fuji chicken salad and just seeing it when she set it on the table I was extremely underwhelmed. I noticed it had a strange stench to it and when the waitress left I tried a piece of the chicken and it tasted very, very wrong. In hopes of being wrong I made my boyfriend try it and I am now officially the worst girlfriend in the world for feeding my guy bad chicken. It honestly made my whole experience go down the drain. I picked the chicken off my salad and choked some of it down but it made me never want to come back again. My boyfriend said his burger was decent and we had the cheese curds which were also just okay. We both decided we will stick to our favorite local spot, Schmittys Oar house

On a business trip to Wisconsin, my coworkers and I stopped at Cool River. Not great service, unexceptional food. BUT… such a Wisconsin place — Christmas decorations, games, TVs playing football, and CHEESE CURDS.

Cool River would be a really great place to start a bar & rest. The atmosphere is nice with plenty of TVs. It would be a good place to watch football or the races, but we won’t go back because of the lousy service mediocre food.
We walked in the door and being unsure whether we should seat ourselves or not… we waited. The bartender had a clear view of us and made no effort to greet us or tell us we could just find a seat. We eventually got the hint that no one was going to help us and wandered over to a table.
The waitress was barely ok and I did have to go to the bar to order drinks. Again the bartender acted like he couldn’t see me.
Since it’s possible for any place to have an off night we went back again and were not anymore satisfied. Both times the place was almost empty and it seemed no one had the time to serve us.

Reasonably priced and nice clean atmosphere. It’s casual and out of the way with good sandwiches and a friendly staff.
I stop every couple months for a Cuban, Reuben, or burger and a beer.

We received a menu flyer in the mail the other day, so we decided to give Cool River a chance. We went on a Friday afternoon around 2 pm. There was 1 gentleman sitting at the bar but other than him we had the place to ourselves. The music was so loud we had a hard time talking across the table from each other. This is supposed to be a sports bar so I guess the music is expected. I ordered the cowboy burger with sweet potato fries. My wife ordered a chicken wrap also with the sweet potato fries. My burger was actually pretty good. It was a little dry but I don’t like a greasy burger so I didn’t mind it. The sweet potato fries were just ok. I thought Culver’s sweet potato fries are better. The wife’s chicken wrap she said was nothing special. She said the chicken wraps from Festival Foods are of a higher quality. The side sauce that came with both orders tasted like watered-​down mayonnaise. Not sure what the point of that was but it wasn’t good. She ended up using A-​1 steak sauce to help with the taste. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff was polite. Cool River is in a good location with high vehicle traffic going by. The place has potential but at the moment it’s geared towards the Sports Bar and Beer crowd.

Mediocre at best. Food is OK. Service is friendly but slow. Good place to grab a drink and watch a game, but there’s better options if you’re looking for a quality meal.

Good sandwiches, salads and wraps at this restaurant. The buffalo fries are excellent. Thin and crispy with a great coating. Not too spicy — just flavorful. Eat local!

I come here almost every wednesday. Not only do they have some of the BEST cheese curds, they also have some pretty fun karoke every wednesday. Crowd is pretty eclectic, and with the exception of a few motley fellows every once in awhile, things are pretty easy going and fun.
Can’t speak much to the other nights.

Stopped in on a Sunday after a long trip looking for a decent burger and a cold drink… and that’s exactly what I got. The place was pretty empty, especially considering it was Sunday and there was football on.
The black and bleu burger is solid, although a bit greasy. Fries were nothing special, although they had sweet potato fries (which I realized a touch too late).
Service was good and they have LOADS of TVs to including two huge projectors on opposite walls.

Not everything needs to be fried but they do not agree. I had the sliders which could have been great except that they were soaking in grease. Oh yeh, THEY TOOK FOREVER FOR EVERYTHING!!!
