Well when I here Inn or motel, I feel disgusted. But this is pretty last minute in finding a place to stay. I was surprise the place is very clean. New carpet. When u walk in through the hallway there is a smoky smell other than that everything has been good. Very friendly service. $ 94 a day is not bad for last minute. It came with free continental breakfast. That was ok. I don’t care about the free breakfast. The location is mostly inn or hotel. Might come back but depends if I am In the hood. Salem is a small town.

The managers Gayle and Loyd were friendly, funny and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well stocked. I would absolutely stay here again and am going to recommend this place to anyone.

Simple. Clean. Friendly staff. there was no expectation of anything more so it was difficult to be disappointed. Two issues: a car parked on the hash marks of an accessible parking spot, not only rendering the spot unusable, but also blockibg access to the Night window that would have to have been used to check in(the violator was allowed to remain there all night) AND the hide-a-bed was so broken as to not only be unusable as a bed but also as a couch. The continental breakfast aligns with the price point. Nothing more needs to be said about that

We have stayed here twice to visit Pacific University, it was close and very nice to have all the fast food places close by. The hotel was clean and staff was very nice. The price was right, very satisfied with the location.

Awful. TL;DR version: I stay in hotels around 6 – 8 times a year for business(usually) and pleasure(occasionally). Out of the hundreds of hotels I’ve stayed at over the years, this one is the absolute worst. It is dirty and the room they tried to stick me with smelled like a sewer, masked with some cheap chemical floral scent. When we asked to change rooms they let us, but their way of dealing with the horrific odor was to spray some air freshener. They should never have sold that room to anyone. The entire place reeked of cigarette smoke. Carpets were ancient and badly stained. Crappy beds with dirty bedspreads. The whole place is dingy and disgusting. I would have been worried about bedbugs but I dont think any could survive long in the place. Worst Ive ever had by far, and I’ve stayed in some dives. My story: my wife, a friend, and I arrived in the afternoon on an overnight stay midway through our vacation. The hotel staff was friendly. The carpets were filthy to the point of being nearly black with grime, paint was chipped off the walls, and it had that chemical smell hotels get when they really badly need to be refurbished. Anyway, I was given our room key and went into my room and was assaulted with the most awful stench I’ve ever encountered in a room. It smelled like meat or garbage was rotting, or perhaps a more sewage-like aroma. Either way, it was absolutely intolerable. It also smelled like they had tried to mask it with some sort of cheap floral air freshener, which turned out to be Febreeze when I caught them coming in and spraying an enormous amount in the room. I immediately went down to the desk and asked for another room, which they gave me, but were not surprised about my complaint! I am appalled and angered that they would sell this room to anyone, knowing the entire time that it is unfit for human habitation. The new room, while not smelling of death, still smelled of that headache-inducing floral masking substance that they use. The new room was grimy as well: stained carpets, chips in the walls, and a horrific bathroom floor that looked to have seen about twenty thousand toilet overflows bathe its linoleum floors. The hallway carpets were blackened with dirt and filth and countless vile stains, and the whole place stank of cigarette smoke and unnamed filth. The two room keys that we were given kept loosing their memory, resulting in us getting locked out of our room over and over. The worst thing for me is that the smell of the place invaded my suitcase and all of my clothes stank like that awful hotel. Avoid this place at all cost, it truly is horrible.

Only 5 minutes away from Pacific University and all the little stores(and Starbucks) you’ll need for a brief stay in Forest Grove. After staying here in Nov. 2010, I had to jump onto Unilocal and look for this place to write a review. I was surprised to see that there was no listing for this place, so I’m making one now and I’m glad to be the first to write a Unilocal review for this place. My sister-in-law, young niece and I traveled to Oregon for Thanksgiving weekend to visit a college niece for the holiday. We’re from Hawaii where hospitality is #1 so I really wanted to find a place that was affordable and comfortable. The website isn’t the fanciest, but for the price and the distance it was from the college, we couldn’t beat it. I made the reservations by phone and was greeted by the general manager, Sean. He was very pleasant and friendly. Finally we get to Forest Grove. Our flight came in late so it was well past midnight when we got to the hotel. After ringing the doorbell, Sean was the one to open the door and welcome us in from the cold. He was just so friendly and hospitable that it instantly took the stress of the day’s travel down to a low. The place was cozy and warm and check-in was fast and easy. Sean and his staff made us feel more like guests at someone’s home rather than a hotel. As we started to head down the hall to our room, he called out to us to invite us to a Thanksgiving Ham dinner that he was going to put on that Saturday night in the lounge for his guests. That was so sweet! Our room was HUGE! It was the first room on the second floor closest to the card-operated side exit so getting in and out was a breeze. It was spacious and clean and had all that we needed. Sean reminded us time and time again that if we needed anything at all, to just let one of them know. The bathroom was clean, shower water pressure was nice. The room had 2 big beds and a sofa sleeper which fit all 5 of us perfectly. There was no enclosed closet, but a rack with hangers to hang our coats and jackets. The dresser was huge. There was a little desk with a lamp, microwave, tv, internet connection, alarm clock, 2 more nightstands with lamps, hair dryer, and mini fridge. Um, did I mention that the room was huge? The heater/ac was powerful and comfortable. Anyway, we did a lot of sightseeing during our stay. We were always greeted warmly and was offered help with our shopping bags every time we’d come back to the hotel for something and always were engaged in chit-chat and laughs with the friendly staff. They really made the place homey, warm and friendly and they were all very attentive to our needs and requests. The room was cleaned everyday and they left extras for us for us everyday(towels, washcloths, toilet paper, etc.). Overall, it was one of the best stays we ever had. The location was perfect, the hospitality and ambience of the place was SOOOO comfortable and pleasant and the staff was outstanding. If you’re looking for a fancy place, then this isn’t for you, but if you’re not about glitz and glamour and just want a nice, clean and cozy place to stay, you’ll love it here. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It could use an elevator, but I say that only because we overpacked and our luggage was HEAVY! We were offered help with our luggage, but we refused it. We’ll be coming back here time and time again when in Oregon.
