I stayed here a few months ago and never got around to writing a review until now. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in and the only thing it had going for it was it shared a parking lot with a Subway so food was close and the Wi-Fi worked. We asked for non-smoking rooms and 2 of the 3 rooms smelled heavily of smoke. The next problem was the lights above the mirrors; it was one of those fixtures with 5 lights in a row across the top of the mirror, but only 1 of the 5 lights worked and 2 sockets had no light in them at all. Then there was the bathroom door, it wouldn’t close as the door hardware was loose. The toilet seat almost fell off when I went to lift it. We had rented these rooms for a youth event nearby and had a group of teens with us and they were all wanting to sleep in the van rather than stay in the hotel. Luckily we only had to stay one night but we definitely won’t be staying here ever again.

I do not have any clue why anyone would give this place any stars at all. The staff may mean well, but you do NOT open someone’s room door then walk away to clean other rooms. The sink and tub fixtures leak and spray all over. The A/C does NOT work, neither does the heat. The shears do not fit on the bed and our room had dried blood on the side of the sheet. The pillows smell like curry, which makes me think they are never washed. The place is dirty and they couldn’t even make a key card. When we voiced our dislike about all these items, they had a guy come over who looked to be homeless try to talk to us. After getting frustrated with a huge language barrier, that did not exist until I was frustrated, I yelled that if they as much as looked at the door to the room I would call the police on them. I would never stay on this place, not on a bet. When it is 82 degrees outside, you need A/C. This Inn should not charge more than 19.99 a month to have anyone stay here. Not per night, but per month. What a joke.

I made a two night reservation to stay here. I made the reservation several weeks in advance. My reservation was secured by my credit card. On the day of our arrival, we arrived at the motel to check in at 2:45pm, check in was 3:00pm. I told the women at the front desk that I was there to check in. I gave her my last name. She went through her reservations and said I did not have a reservation and she was fairly short with me. I had a reservation number and a printed copy of my reservation. After a few minutes, she said she«believed» me, did not want to see my printed confirmation and said she could put me in their other motel up the street. She said I could come back the next day for my second night to stay at the original location. The motel she was trying to move me to was a definite down grade and one we were not comfortable staying in, we had looked at it on an earlier trip to Forest Grove. I asked her what happened and she said they did not pull our reservation and rented our room to a walk in. Considering we had a reservation that was no good, we would never book a room here again, what good does it do if you do not know what happens when you actually check in. We went to the Best Western in Forest Grove, just to see if they had an available room, we usually stay here but they were booked. They did not have a room available but said they would make a few phone calls and find us a comparable room, which they did.

Like other reviewers have said, this place isn’t pretty but it provides basic needs. You can tell the place is old, but I’m not going to let age lower my rating for this motel. It was clean, the desk staff was nice, and when we let them know our fire alarm was beeping due to low batteries, they replaced them promptly. It was the most affordable in the area and did the job.

In choosing a star rating above for this motel, I was torn between giving it 4 stars or 5 stars, because it was right on the cusp between the two, just about at 4.5. Ultimately, I gave it four stars because even though I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I were again visiting the area, and even though I would choose it over all the other locally-available hotel properties, it is essentially a very basic and simple hotel, almost Spartan, with absolutely no frills. In fact, let me repeat once again what I wrote above: This is a very basic and simple motel; it is not fancy, and it does not offer any frills or glamor. Far from it! In fact, it is rather Spartan! But, as a basic and simple hotel, it does its job very well. Rooms are very large and clean, as are the bathrooms. I requested, and received, a fridge in my room, and it was spacious and more than adequate. The front desk staff all seem to be friendly and helpful. I stayed for about 10 days while in the area on a consulting trip, and I found the hotel to be perfectly adequate. I was very satisfied with my stay. And yes, there is WiFi, and it is free. And it is by far the least expensive hotel in the area, and yet it is perfectly comfortable, clean and workable. What more could one ask?

I had to stay in forest grove for 5 days to attend a conference at Pacific University. I took and gamble at stayed here — and was very satisfied. Large room, CLEAN, free wi-fi, fridge and microwave in room, and less than 2 miles from the University — for about half of what surrounding hotels are charging, it really doesn’t get much better than this. I would definitely stay here again.
