I came here based on recommendations for Maegy to do my hair. She was awesome! I booked 240 mins but it ended up taking a little longer than expected because my hair really needed some fixing, lol. She moved a couple of her appointments and finished mine anyways. So sweet of her. And I’m really impressed with my hair. It looks even better than I thought it was going to! I’d definitely recommend Maegy for anything hair related.

A girl can only take so much rain and grey clouds… yes I am an Oregonian born and raised here in Portland, webbed feet and all, but even I need some sunshine, gimme vitamin D please! So every year around the February mark, I get restless, and my skin looks like milk… and I need some of that«artificial sun»… I decided to give this place a try for their tanning beds. My usual place closed last year and I thought, hey I work close by, so why not take a little nap on the lunch hour and warm the bod with some fake sun?! Their prices are very reasonable, $ 45 for one month unlimited, compared to the«chain salons» that cost you almost a whole paycheck for a few months! The beds are clean, have extra fans, a stereo and they put a little piece of chocolate on your towel… mmm what a treat, chocolate and a nap on my lunch hour! The staff is very friendly, no attitudes or noses in the air either. They do have other salon services, hair, nails… I am very loyal to my hairdresser and love the job she does, so I probably won’t try Hot Spot for their hair services. But on Fridays, they currently have an express pedi for $ 15, I may have to do that sometime soon!

My best friend & I went the afternoon before her wedding. We had asked for mani-pedi’s at the same time. First off, Kelly was our technician and she kept us waiting for half an hour. Then she did us one at a time-VERY slowly. 3.5 hours later, I had to take my nail polish off and redo it myself and then do my OWN pedicure. Really? After 3 hrs she had not even started on my pedi. Then Kelly got huffy with us because her next appt came in and we were keeping her from it. Last, but least, Kelly charged us for all the services even though I did my own. My friend took her aside and objected but to no avail. Did I also mention that Kelly would also leave us during the services and disappear for 15 – 20 min. at a time? It was the worst quality and service I have ever gotten at a mani-pedi ever… ever. Disappointed and felt ripped off. Our time pre-wedding was very valuable and wasted by Kelly. Wedding was at McMenamins and we made sure to tell the sales director about our woeful experience.
