Not bad pizza and good garlic knots i think the pizza would have been even better if it came from a fresh pie. Will try again and update review

Had the worst experience. Paid for full pie with jalapeños. Took it home, my only fault was not checking the pie when I picked it up. I got it home and it was overloaded with jalapeños. I have three kids, including a 3 year old. The pizza was inedible. I asked the older kids to remove the jalapeños but it was still inedible. I still asked that they please eat as we had not other dinner option but when I took a bite, I realized it was not a good option. I took the remaining pizza back, hoping the owners would understand my situation but in the contrary, they asked why only half the pizza was returned. I explained how I had asked the kids to eat some despite it being so spicy but there was no understanding on part of the owner. I’m not sure why they would feel any families with small children would come back to them and con them out of a pizza, especially since we’re regular customers. I would have hoped they would try to retain us as customers over the cost of a cheese pizza, but alas that was lacking on their part. I’ll just stick to Nick’s and Portofinos.

I flew into JFK this past weekend and stopped over to Forrest Hills since it looked interesting on my way into the City. I was craving a nice slice so I was happy To stumble upon this place. The slices looked great, so I picked the sliced tomato and in the oven, it went. As I sit there waiting for my slice to come out, a 5 foot tall Amazonian Fly starts swarming about, and decided he wanted to have a little sample. So in it dove, hopping from one expensive pie to another, digging right in with its filthy feet. Practically walking on all the pies and claiming them his, as the guy behind the counter looked at his phone. The Fly just sat there eating away rubbing it in my face… Problem was, I already paid. I was so disgusted by this sobering moment of what happens to your food as it sits out at pizza shops, I didn’t even bother to mention it since I know by the time I got the guy’s attention the fly would have been gone. Last time I checked, flies eat by throwing up on their food then sucking it back into their mouth. I think they also like standing on feces in the street and laying larvae on food for maggots to grow. I was curious how hot my slice would be when it came out, so I waited and took it with me. Then figured if my slice suffered the same fate the only part that gets hot on the slice is the bottom… Thinking if this giant fly Dropped a few of its offspring on this slice… There is no way they or any germs would be killed, since the heat only cooks the bottom. No more pizza for me.

Manager nor staff are customer friendly. They made a mistake on my order but the manager treated me like it was my fault and grudgingly returned my money.

2 stars cos the pizza was hot. not much else but greasy cardboard variety here. overpriced for a slice of cardboard pizza. better slices are to be had on Queens Blvd. Or Dani’s in Kew Gardens!

Best tasting pizza in the neighborhood. I think it’s in the sauce that they use. Can be a bit pricy but I think it’s worth it when you look at the other options nearby. The TV will usually have baseball or basketball on but it’s not in HD.

Pizza can be very good at times, even though it is Chinese owned & operated. I ordered a chicken parm hero once & it was awful and the table service was poor. I stick to pizza here.

So my daughter were hungry, since we were across the street from a pizzeria, we decided to walk in. I love the fish tank, the place is clean, great customer service. I order the garlic knots, trying to stay away from cheese! My daughter a regular slice and my husband ordered the buffalo wing slice. The pizza tasted Ok, it was not a WoOw taste! The garlic knots were too greasy. The reason why im giving 5 stars its bcuz of the customer service and the way the packed everything so delicated. keep it up guyss!

This is about the service. I frequent this place because the food is pretty good. BUT everytime I use waiter service its horrible. The waiter is slow, uninterested, and lacks any enthusiasm. Last time I was here I recieved the wrong order. The Asian girl that used to waitress was great but I never see her there anymore. Oh the spanish music in the dining room is annoying anf the bathroom is usually filthy.

I frequented this place in 2000, 16 years later, I have to say it’s one of the worst pizzerias I know. The food went in the wrong direction. I don’t even think I’m willing to finish a slice let alone rate it. What was once Austin street’s pride and joy is now an exclamation-point at the end of a block that has nothing to offer.

We ordered take out from A&J today for lunch. I was very impressed with the pizza: a nice dough with just enough cheese and a delicious sweet sauce. The crust was light but crispy and it had an authentic homemade flavor and texture. The problem was with the eggplant parmesan. They burnt it. The cheese was black and all the sauce had dried up due to the extended time in the oven. I’m not sure which is worse: overcooking the entrée or having the balls to serve it to us. I still can’t figure out how you could burn eggplant parm? The portion size of the eggplant was also very small, but that was probably because it was burnt to a crisp. The large Greek salad was also disappointing. Very small portion size with a tiny cup of bland dressing, no olives and just mostly lettuce with a few slices of red onion. This was definitely not worth the price. I’ll be back for the pizza, but that is it.

I love this place’s atmosphere and variety. I come here whenever I’m craving a slice. Chicken Caesar slice and strawberry fanta is the go-to!

Really good pizza. Down to the crust. Its not the dry powdery kind. No matter what time of day or what day I come its always good. Definitely worth a try if you never been.

It’s not a bad New York slice. I prefer Gloria a few blocks away(I grew up them when located on Main Street in Flushing), but this place is not bad. Sauce, cheese and crust are good. The crust could be a tad more crispy. It’s also a bit doughy but that said, not too heavy.

And boy I was not disappointed, I don’t live in the area but cant wait to go back around to order from this place! Also delivery was timed perfectly and the gentleman making the delivery was very polite!

A&J Pizza definitely has that good greasy NYC pizza. It is the perfect neighborhood pizzeria with a friendly staff! I used to stop in for a slice at least once a week when I was to lazy to cook and to impatient to wait for anything longer than 2 minutes. Normally two slices would fill me up but sometimes I went a little overboard and ordered three. Their crust is just the way I like it, the pizza is cheese but not to cheese, they have tons of different slices to chose from and I always leave with a smile on my face and a happy stomach!

For a local place they have awesome service and food! I had their Greek salad which was really good– fresh and crunchy. I loved that they chopped up a lot of the ingredients. But living in Astoria in a somewhat Greek area I missed the dolmas. But, it did have kalamatas… mmmmm. Their pizza, kudos to the chef, had a smoky flavor to it. Unless you’ve had real brick oven stuff you may not get the point. If you eat-in, there’s waiter service! A very nice young man with real manners services you and even brings the bill. Tip nicely because he deserves it! Gotta visit again!

After receiving my order, I realized that they had given me the incorrect item. After I called to inform them as such, they first incorrectly claimed that they had given me the correct order. I reminded them that Seamless e-mails me a receipt of my order, and so I know that it was their error and not my own. At this point, the woman on the phone had the nerve to say that I should have reiterated my indicated preference in the comments portion, which is absurd. I normally wouldn’t write a review over an incorrect order, because things happen and the occasional mistake shouldn’t prevent someone from giving a place a try. But, when a mistake occurs, the right thing to do is apologize for the oversight and correct it: not to blame the customer. In any case, I asked for them to send over the sandwich that I had actually ordered and to add cheese to it. The delivery man came, delivered the sandwich and they proceeded to ask me for $ 2.17 for the cheese. Really? The very least they could have done was waived that fee. The sandwich I received was subpar and the customer service here is unacceptable. The pizza might be their saving grace, but with so many pizzerias in the area, there’s no reason to frequent this establishment only to be forced to deal with all their shortcomings.

So– this place. Wait for a fresh pie– hot, a bit salty and veryyyy cheessssssssy with little sauce. Did I mention it’s cheesy? Soft/pale crust, cod have been cooked more. May be good for those who don’t have teeth maybe– very chewy.
