I just visited the store, today on a rainy day after checking at a chain drug store for evening primrose oil. Even though the chain drugstore had many different brands of herbs and vitamins, there was only one brand of evening primrose oil, but it was all sold out. I walked to the GNC one block away, and the store was pristine and well organized. The clerk helped me to locate it quickly. Not only was the evening primrose oil in stock, but there were three different sizes. He did not try to upsell me on anything, even the GNC card, but I did contribute to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at his request. I was«in and out» of the store in a few minutes and caught the Q60 Jamaica bound bus right in front of the store.

Do your research before going in to this store because the staff WILL upsell you on products that are much more expensive than whatever you intent to buy. The staff work on a commission basis so they’ll want to sell you more expensive items. They do this by making up stories, with no basis, about how good a certain product is compared to others. If anything, remember to keep your receipt. I returned one of the product I got a few days ago today and was told I need to give them my email address and phone number for the refunds. Give them your phone number but don’t give them your email lest you want them to spam you.

Yeah… I agree with Sheridan C’s review of this particular GNC. The staff here really don’t know their stuff. I came in here to get some supplements and as I was looking at their vitamin area, the lady came and recommended some type of vitamin so I gave it a shot. I took the vitamins for about 2 days and I had to throw it in the trash because the color of my piss was Incredibly Hulk green during that short time. The vitamin was like the size of a Nyquil LiquiCap if not bigger and as green as Captain Planet’s hair. As for GNC, I do purchase things I usually use for my workouts but keep away from their vitamins. You don’t what you’re gettin. And like what Sheridan C. said, goto the GNC or Vitamin Shoppe on Austin St and 71st Continental Ave. They know more about their products over there. This GNC on Queens Blvd is by far the worse one I’ve ever been to. It’s a organized and clean store but they just need to hire a new staff at this location.

The staff does is not knowledgeable about their products. They may or may not understand English. To be fair to myself, I am not knocking on immigrants. I don’t believe in the«This is America, speak english or get out» mentality of some(like Geno’s Steak in Philadelphia)…but the woman I spoke to, didn’t seem to understand what I was asking. I asked her if Muscle Milk could be used as a meal supplement, and she said«this is it.» And then I said again, «No, I would like to know if Muscle Milk could be used as a meal supplement, yes/no?» And she said again, «this is it.» And then she walked away. I was lost. On another occasion, I stood at the cashier for about five(5) minutes while the cashier and the manager, I assume, were speaking in their native tongue, completely ignoring me. That was kind of rude. They did not even acknowledge my presence or ask me to please wait. I’d go out of my way to try out the GNC on Austin Street or the Vitamin Shoppe on 71st/Continental.
