Not impressed. I came here with my sister on Friday and we ordered two coffees to stay. One French Vanilla and one Hazelnut. Paid $ 6.00, which isn’t bad, however, the coffee was. It was cold and we didn’t taste any French Vanilla or Hazelnut flavor. It was a cute place, but I really wasn’t a fan of the coffee.

What’s up with the coffee!!! It has to be the person doesn’t know how to make it! I tried giving this place 3 times a shot but all 3 times the coffee is horrible. The person doesn’t know how to make coffee. Disgusting. I went here yesterday with 2 of my friends and the cappuccino was horrible. They were disappointed as well. Step up your game !!! Your a coffee café. Teach the person how to make drinks.

My favorite coffee shop on Austin St. Their food is divine and their coffee is great. I’ve been coming to this gem ever since they opened. Their staff are very welcoming and super kind. They make sure their customers are happy and getting the service they deserve. Great ambience. Live music. Perfect study spot.

A great little place you just want to sit at to do nothing and enjoy life. These places are going by the wayside. So refreshing NOT to be another coffee chain.

Walked in to take some lunch to go and after reading the reviews boasting the Mediterranean sandwich i decided to opt for it. Small cozy little place, was immediately greeted and welcomed by a smile by the host. Asked him if he had any iced teas and after confirming they did i asked what was their most popular drink — he said the passion fruit tea so i took that as well. Now im not no vegan and this is my 2nd or 3rd time trying a vegan meal so bare with me : The sandwich was warm and looked filling. It was basically made of diced carrots, other vegetables and what tasted like hummus thinly spread. The bread was annoyingly tough/hard on the edges, soft centrally hence required much chewing — couldn’t really enjoy it. The iced tea was bitter/unsweetened but ive had worse. I was kindly given a choice of honey and/or liquid amounted to my desire. For someone that doesn’t like passion fruit i approve. All in all i spent about 12 bux for a sandwich and drink… too pricey for the taste, nor did i felt filled. Other than that, processing time was quick and staff were supper friendly. Recommend to try!

The three stars is for the décor and the location. If I was rating the coffee, I would give them 1 star. Sorry guys but that coffee is undrinkable. I had to throw it out. The people who eat and drink here seemed very nice and the staff seem eager to please the customer. But that coffee has got to change if you ask me.

My new favorite place, the barista was so welcoming upon walking in, I ordered a matcha green tea latte, so yummy! They had a girl in the front playing her guitar with a nice acoustic sound, adding to the ambiance.

I’ve been coming to this place for over a year now. There has been a lot of changes with staff and décor, but it still remains a great place to grab all natural coffee, tea, sandwiches or salads. Happy Hour Monday — Thursday 5 – 7 is pretty great too.

Cramped, disorganized set up and surprisingly dirty(tables, seats and restroom). The ambiance was on the noisy side, more hippie than hipster. The staff was more intent on chatting with each other than on tending to the clients. The coffee was nothing special; I didn’t finish mine. It was too dirty and slow to order food there. Had I not promised to meet people there I would have left the place without ordering even the coffee. The friend who recommended the place to me arrived and equally surprised. She wouldn’t even sit down, let alone order anything. We ended up leaving moments after she arrived. A first and last visit.

It’s a cute little space and probably one of the best in forest hills. Coffee based drinks are tasty and service is always friendly. I really enjoy the cappuccinos and ground coffee. Downside include the spot feeling really cramped inside and products being a bit over priced. Not a bad place to stop by once in a while though. =)

I live around the block and come here regularly. Great coffee and they have amazing breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The place is usually pretty quite for those needing a place to work remotely or study. Free wifi with a purchase.

Tried this spot for the first time on a late Sunday afternoon. I ordered a cappuccino, and then later ordered their tea to stay. The Capp was warm however the taste was strong. Just how I like it. I must say that the tea was delicious ! Couldn’t help it and I ordered a pot of their strictly strawberry tea right after. My seven year old daughter loved their oatmeal raisin cookie as well. Liked to hear the soothing music in the background. My daughter kept telling me that we were having a tea gettogether! Will definitely be going back to try out their salads next time. Service was also good.

Beautiful exposed brick walls and art of local artists adorn the walls in this cosy café. This is the most charming place to come and relax. Great teas, coffees salads and baked goods. Almond milk is available. Vegan friendly. Good for the mind, soul and body! I have conducted Alumnae interviews here because of the warm and cosy ambiance. I love it here more every time I visit!

Ok maybe I’m being stingy. Just a bit. But I was charged $ 3.80 for a stinkin cookie. A c00kie. And it wasn’t even good. The coffee was good. I guess. I don’t know. I’m still upset about my $ 3.80 cookie.

This café is awesome. I had very high expectations of this place and they were all met. I walked in and the ambiance was cool, calm and hip. From the art on the walls to the acoustic music playing in the background, this is the perfect place to get work done or to take your friends for some catching up. I ordered the Matcha Green Tea Latte. It was yummy! Perfect combination of milk and matcha. I did not regret ordering this because I know all of their products are organic. I am most definitely coming back!

An organic vegetarian vegan friendly café on Austin Street that serves multiple variations of coffees and mediocre sandwiches. I didn’t get any coffee– but I got three sandwiches and a juice and was disappointed. Its a bit pricey for Queens to get a $ 8 juice. Although their carrot/ginger/pineapple juice was delicious and fresh-made. Sandwiches were hit or miss with prices ranging from $ 7.5 to 8.75 each. The Ascan Reuben was a definite miss– lacking in flavor and overwhelming amounts of sauerkraut. I loved my Greenway Guacamole. It was simple and fresh with lots of Guac and a winning combo of cucumbers with sprouts. Just not very filling. And the Austin Portabella sandwich was ok. Portabella slices were cooked, lacked salt and seasoning. It wasn’t exciting or amazing. I would like to come back and try their lattes. Maybe that would be a better choice…

I love small neighbourhood cafes where locals can come to chill out over a cup of coffee. When I walked into Red Pipe Café, I did not expect much. The deco though cozy but was dark and little run down. But don’t judge a book by its cover, the cappuccino I had was really really good. Well balanced espresso shot with perfectly microfoam milk. The latte art was just glorious. I wish I can do something like that… It did take a while for my cappuccino to be ready, but well worth the wait!

Is it the red piper? No, it’s organic in Forest Hills! Classic sandwich on Rye with Swiss, tomato, basil and egg $ 7.52 One hot Green Tea $ 3.25 A quaint organic rustic local café that sits in Forest Hills’ commercial street– Austin Street. A charming welcome to the Forest Hills, Queens community refreshing to the appetite than the standard eyesores of franchise and chain businesses. I initially requested my sandwich on white bread but ended up with Rye. I despise Rye. The hard boiled egg was nicely sliced in flat pieces. My sandwich was a decent lunch to eat my fill. Payment is expected to be rendered first before food is served to the table. Limited sandwiches and other entrées are available. Customer service is efficient, attentive and courteous with a smile. As a non-coffee, non-caffeine drinker Red Pipe Café does have good latte and coffee. They have a good selection of hot teas as both coffee– holics and tea drinks can certainly have their cake and eat it too! One uni-sex facility is available that is clean and has a rustic charming look. Electrical outlets are available to the tech gear clientele who need juice to power their iPhones or other handheld devices. No menus and no business cards are currently available as it is probably under design or being printed.
