With hero sandwiches from a good quality local deli becoming a lunch experience of the past, if not there already, I do wander into a Subway with minimal frequency. When I look up to read the signage its just neck exercise as I’m there for the tuna fish, loaded with every vegetable, extra jalapenos and top it off with a dousing of spicey mustard all atop their special trampoline/yoga mat bread. It’s a personal favorite.(There was an article a few months back that spoke of Subways bread and yoga mats have similar ingredients.) This location seems to never be crowded, clean and tidy inside and the staff all are quite friendly.

Pretty empty, no lines and easy place to park. There’s plenty of open meter spots along Metropolitan Ave or you could park in the neighborhood streets. The closest train station here is probably the Union Turnpike/Kew Gardens E and F station. It’s a few long blocks away. Another option is walk down 71st ave for the Continental Ave station. The LIRR is also down that direction.
