I admit that I come from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn where there are a ton of sushi places. On sheepshead Bay Road itself, a short strip, there are 7 Japanese Restaurants. But the prices are nothing like this place and the food is superior. $ 6 for a spicy tuna roll with more avocado than Tuna. Definitely nothing special and way over priced. They get the prices they do because there is no competition in the area. This place is rated really well on Unilocal and I think Unilocalers should really rate with a more well rounded criteria like price. You can’t say it’s great because it’s the only decent place in the area.

Best sushi spot to get sushi and/or sashimi on Austin Street, dare I say Forest Hills. The restaurant is very cozy(i.e. not very good for big groups as they only have a few tables for seating). They are efficient and get your food to you right away but never rush you out the door. The prices are reasonable compared to the other sushi restaurants nearby.

On the outside, Sushi Time is your run-of-the-mill sushi restaurant: nothing fancy, something you could easily overlook. Even on the inside, the restaurant is small – even congested– with only a few tables and seating by the sushi bar, and little to no decoration. However, what Sushi Time lacks in seating and aesthetics, it makes up for in the quality of its Japanese food. Luckily we just beat the dinner rush and Sushi Time was able to seat our party of 4 on a Saturday night. Although the restaurant seems to thrive on its takeout service more than its in-house dining, the waitress was very attentive and we were able to order relatively quickly. I personally had a difficult time deciding what to get because everything sounded so delicious, but I settled on the Lana Roll and the Benny Roll, both of which are wrapped in soy instead of seaweed. My brother and father split one of the sushi for two plates, and my boyfriend got the sushi box B. Before our food was ready, the restaurant brought out miso soups for everyone on the house, which was incredibly kind. The soups were good and soothed my throat on a cold winter day. The food arrived quickly after, and I never once felt like there was a lull in the service. For the prices we paid, the food was way more than enough – I ordered two rolls and ended up with about 20 pieces! The sushi for two was also more than enough sushi for two people, even if you’re considerably hungry. By the end of our meal, everyone was sufficiently filled to the brim with raw fish. My recommendation would be not to judge this restaurant by its looks. The food is fresh and the service is fast, and you won’t regret eating at Sushi Time.

It’s been a while since I came here but I will never be coming back. That said, I think it’s my own personal tastes that will stop me from returning. I love the fact that they offer huge bowls of miso soup here, but I really don’t love anything else about this place. Their rolls are okay, really nothing amazing. But the reason I will never return again is because I LOVE crunchy rolls and this place uses the strangest crunch in their rolls. It looks exactly like Rice Krispies and tastes like it too! Definitely not what I want in my sushi.

I just can’t stop coming back here. A takeout oriented sushi joint that actually has really fresh, delicious, high quality sushi for all the convenience. I usually grab something from the pre-made section, which has their most popular rolls and some of the specialty ones — my favorites are the Lobster Roll, Volcano Roll, and the tried & true spicy salmon. Taking off a star because it’s a tad pricey for a takeout spot, but you get what you pay for, I suppose :)

Sushi grade is okay for the price. Ordered the sashimi platter for two and a gentleman’s roll.

This is my favorite sushi spot since moving to Forest Hills. Staff is extremely friendly and polite. Most people usually get takeout but I always eat in the restaurant and the service has always been great. The sushi itself is really good. Much better than a lot of other sushi places in the area. I’ve only gotten a few rolls but they were all super fresh and excellent. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable! Much cheaper compared to Sushi Yasu down the street! I really like the little candies they give with your check. I don’t like the cherry ones and i was going to give them back to the cashier but she ended up giving me a big handful of the other flavors of candy. Made my day!

We stopped here one night about 8:35 and they were about to be closed at 9 but allowed us to sit down anyway. We just got california roll and a spicy tuna crunch roll. The rolls are good and a pretty good sized although one star off for not having my husband’s favorite spider roll. They tasted pretty fresh and was not cheap on their ingredients. What sushi place does not have spider roll? It is really small and probably only had 5 tables. So next time I go, I’ll probably only get take out. This is a good place if I am ever craving sushi and it is close to me.

Came here a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious their sushi is. I have had their take out sushi, usually spicy tuna rolls, and never found it good enough to want to dine in. Their take out rolls tasted fresh but had scallions in them that after sitting out for a while, make the spice tuna have an oniony taste. But I decided to give them a try and dine in Their sushi is amazing, fresh, melt in your mouth good. My boyfriend and I ordered six rolls. 2 spicy tuna, 1 spicy tuna with mango, 1 eel avocado… and the rest I can’t remember. Freshly made Spicy Tuna is knock your socks off good. The rolls also came out in lightening speed, I was so surprised how fast they made them. I also wanted to point out that their version of «crunchy» being added to their rolls, is something with a crunch like consistency being added to the rice on the outside of the roll. The food was SO good that I am sad it took me so long to eat it… If the owner is reading this, I suggest that maybe you take the scallions out of the rolls that are being placed for take out so they don’t get an oniony taste!

I pass SUSHITIME often and wonder if it’s going to be another restaurant with mediocre food and overpriced for what it is. My boyfriend and I ordered the salmon avocado rolls and crunchy tuna rolls with avocado. I must say that this is the best crunchy tuna roll I have ever tasted in my life. The crunchy part was around the roll covering the rice. Most places, will put the crunch in the center. The fish was unbelievably fresh. A small place to sit down, so not a place to come with larger groups. Nonetheless, sitting in here can be surprisingly relaxing. The only reason I did not leave five stars is because my water was not filled up once. It’s important to have water at some point during/after my meal when it’s 94 degrees outside.

I love this place for the convienance, friendly staff, and satisfying sushi. I always feel it’s good quality and fantastic price for value. Of course speciality rolls are like $ 10+ but are huge! You get what you pay for. It’s a fast food sushi spot but the best I’ve come across in the queens area. I love their salad, although generic. I love everything spicy tuna and salmon and avocados, and they do a fantastic job! Love the convienance of the to go boxes. Even those aren’t «stale». Everything is packed so neat, and feels very clean for such a casual spot.

Don’t look for hot entrees or anything of that nature here. The only hot dish you’ll get are probably gyoza and chicken dumplings. The name of the restaurant says it all. The sushi is fresh and the prices are fair. We ordered the sashimi set to share, a salmon avocado roll and uni sushi. Uni was fresh and creamy. The place is very small. I think I only counter 4 tables and a sushi bar counter that can sit 4. Not bad. Not bad at all.

By far the best sushi in the area. I work in Kew Gardens and the Sushi places around there are *awful*. This restaurant is a nice walk or quick subway stop away. The food is great for the price and they have magazines like US Weekly(guilty pleasure that I refuse to buy). So, you can have your sushi and read trashy magazines for lunch! Amazing roll and TNT roll are yummy.

Wow! Who would have thought that this little hole in the wall sushi joint would be rollin out some super fresh and tasty sushi?! My husband and I finally gave Sushi Time a try and were so glad that we did, this will def be our go to spot. We started with an avocado salad, miso soup, and shu mai. I was expecting the standard small mixed greens salad with ginger dressing and boy was I surprised with they put down this very large salad bowl with what looked like an entire avocado sliced on top. It was delicious! Miso was very good, and shu mai was average. We then had the Dragon Ball special(tuna tartare ball wrapped in avocado) and OMG rolls both were great, they had a lot going on but all the flavors worked really well together and fish was fresh. Overall great quick and delicious dinner. Probability of return: Absolutely

This place was rely fresh, we mentioned that it was our sons birthday and they have him two gifts. Candy and you with candy inside. One negative is that this place can only sit like for table it’s to tight. We will continue looking for our perfect placed .We just moved here so or favorite place is in Virginia. And some in Brooklyn but that to far.

This might be some of the best sushi that I have had in months. It’s a very small place with a little sushi bar and about 7 tables that seat 2 a piece, place the bar which can seat about 3 or 4. It seems like most people just order to go from here, or pick up some sushi from the little deli fridge on the right hand side. The sushi in the deli fridge is about $ 1 – 2 less than the fresher made sushi that you get when eating there. My preference would be to eat here, even though the to go sushi is just as good. They have great service and they will randomly give you free stuff compliments of the sushi chef, but I think it might depend on how much you spend. My recommendation would be to get the sashimi, one of the combos which are a great deal. For under $ 15 you can get some great sashimi with soup and a salad. You’ll definitely be able to taste the awesome quality of their fish.

Sushi rolls made right when you order or just grab and go! Sushi Time is my go-to place for sushi during lunch hour. My favorite rolls here are the Scallion Yellowtail, Salmon Avocado, and other various simple rolls.(I like them simple as you can tell!) I choose to sit in to enjoy the freshness of the ingredients but take-out is okay, too! Each piece is cut evenly, mouth-sized, and with generous amount of ingredients. It’s quite tasty! This spot is very tiny and probably seats around only 10 people. You pretty much can see the entire restaurant with just one glance. I was here a few times when they just opened for lunch and there are people sitting there waiting to order already. The ladies there are always friendly and always alert when you need them. While I truly believe Sushi Time is a great choice for sushi rolls or quick grab-n-go lunch, I disagree with it being compared to Sushi Yasu located a few blocks away. Sushi Time is great for regular sushi rolls. Sushi Yasu is great for omakase experience. Seriously, there is a difference, get it right!
