The yogurt here is always good. The ambiance here is always nice and laid back. And the cashiers Briana and Nicole are always very nice and delightful to talk to.

Unfortunately, I did not have a marvelous experience at this place, where I ordered a small hot chocolate. While I get that it should be sweet, I feel as though this one was too sweet almost. I will also say that marshmallows were the same ones that go in ice cream(ie too large to fit through cup lid). Temperature for a night as frigid as the one in question was spot on. Service was indifferent, the two young ladies working behind the seemed like they did not want to be there, and were more engrossed in their personal conversations than they were taking care of the customer. I work in retail, so I know a little about how things look from behind the counter. I am not against people in the service industry talking amongst themselves, or to their friend(s) who are in the store/restaurant. But when a customer is ordering at the counter, it is best to suspend the conversation for a minute.

The frozen yogurt is fine, toppings pretty blah. The one thing that stands out is the tip jar. Really? What am I tipping for at a self-serve place. Please– to the owners– pay your employees a livable wage. You are not running a restaurant.

$ 3.41 for a good assortment of the more appealing-sounding flavors(skipped the 2 flavors of Chloe’s soft serve fruit). The bathroom faucet is dumb but I guess on theme. Two handles per area means NOSWIRL. Belly app stickers everywhere but nowhere to check in.

Fun place for something cold, sweet & fast. European style design of pouring yourself the yogurt from a variety of flavors. Will definitely return =0)

We had a very bad experience. 1. The price is very expensive, while their yogurt is just bland. And no sampling. 2. The music is loud. 3. Sunshine is too strong in the afternoon. They should have curtains. 4. The server is very rude.

Further to my check-in about the loudness of the music: apparently the owner requires the music to be played at roughly 85 decibels.(According to an iPhone app) This is very bad business. The friend I’m with and I can’t hear ourselves. It’s too loud to concentrate on the subjects we wish to discuss. I don’t blame the staff or even the manager who apparently has to enforce this rule. I strongly suggest to the ownership that they allow the staff to adjust the volume at the customers’ request. To keep the environment this hostile and uncomfortable is uncalled for.

Really not a fan of the froyo here… I think ill be sticking to the chains such as red mango, 16 handles & pink berry. The flavors were way off. I settled with the coconut flavor because it was the only flavor that came some what close to how coconut should taste. The selection of toppings offered were not great either.

Stopped in on this warm and humid day for a little frozen yogurt. Had the Dutch Chocolate with a few toppings. All good, can’t really mess up something you basically create. The place is clean and has some seating. I took mine to go. They do have other selections like shakes and fruit smoothies I think, but I’ve only had the fro-yo. Bring your wallet, not cheap. I think by making it yourself you tend to put too much in the cup. I think I did, and mine was close to 7 bucks. A nice, if not expensive, treat on a summers day.

OK let me first start off by saying I want to kick myself for not coming in here sooner. I came here last night for after dinner dessert. Was literally timing it to get in the door on time since according to Unilocal I only had 10 minutes to get there before the door close at 11PM and I was on a mission for frozen yogurt. Frozen soft serve yogurt that is. As as I entered my eyes went straight for the frozen yogurt machines as my eyes moved up and down and left and right trying to make a decision like oh crap what should I get my mind quickly made a decision pick a few options so I started to pile three flavors on the bottom and hey why not pile three more different flavors on top of those? As it was piling my three top flavors I decided I’d put cookies and cream on top as well even though I had it on bottom you can’t have enough cookies and cream anyway. yummy! I made my way to the topping station oh my oh my oh my so many decisions chocolate go lore I had to add some chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkles, marshmallows and top it off with some gummy bears I was so thrilled with my creation I couldn’t wait to dig in. It was like a party in my mouth all the sweet flavors of the cookies and cream with gummy bears and then the vanilla sky mixed with some chocolate chips marshmallows I was in frozen yogurt heaven, Ohhhhhhh I can’t wait to go back to stuff my face with some softserve frozen yogurt with toppings of course oh PS it’s a little pricey but so worth it.

No sampling spoons. I managed to try almost all of the flavors but they all tasted very artificial, especially pistachio. I ended up with vanilla because it had the least flavoring and didn’t taste so manufactured. $ 0.59 per ounce. Only upside for me was that the cookie dough topping was the actual thing, not those typical little flour-dusted balls. Décor was nice too, but don’t let it fool you.

No sample tasting and they brush the crumbs in a way that falls into the other containers. So when I mentioned this I got duel blank teenage stares.

Very nice, clean, and fast service. I tried the pistachio ice cream and it was so good. Soft and not too sweet. This is a great place to have ice cream.

Cute interior and exterior. I loved the outdoor seating area, it was absolutely adorable. They have many delicious flavors to choose from and even more topping choices. They take credit/debit cards and one worker even offered to throw our cups away for us. Had a great time with my bestie. I will definitely go back to this location.

My go-to froyo place! Red mango and yogo monster(or something like that?) are nothing compared to Vanilla Sky, the location of this place is also perfect. Close to the subway but also close to the other shops I usually hit when in Forest Hills(Sephora, Aldo, and B&N) My absolute favorite combo here is their pistachio froyo with pistachio nuts on top. Vanilla Sky froyo is not as heavy as other places like 16 Handles, which is good for me since I am not a fan of froyo that leans towards ice cream-froyo scale. The only thing about Vanilla Sky that I dislike is that they don’t have my favorite flavor of froyo, pomegranate. :(Their flavors do change pretty often though, so that’s a plus! One night last summer around 10:30PM, I was on an impromptu date and ending up walking by here and found that it was still open and pretty busy. Didn’t know it was open that late but I’ve been here a few times that late again and service is still just as good as it is during the day. p. s. Their bathroom is also really clean :))

Next to Mexican food, I miss froyo from Arizona the most. I decided to give this place a try, despite the reviews because… well… I was desperate for froyo! I asked for sample cups and the worker politely replied that they didn’t do samples. *screeching halt* Seriously?! Oh well. I tried the pumpkin and caramel, both were pretty good. It was a little pricey for what we got but it satisfied my craving.

Vanilla bean Vanilla sky Ahh, the fragrant scent of vanilla I’m riding on cloud nine or a vanilla cloud Frozen yogurt’s popularity appears to be cropping almost everywhere and Forest Hills is no exception. Roaming around my former hood of Forest Hills I wanted to try some frozen yogurt after brunch. Self-serve yogurt stations to select your base yogurt in a assembly line order then to collect one’s toppings followed by checkout with payment by weighing your cup(s). Party of two with fellow Unilocaler, Angel R. and fellow poet/writer our two respective cups 15.3 oz for $.54 per oz. totaling $ 8.26 plus tax. A good selection of toppings, as always my favorite classic, fresh strawberries is my preferred choice of toppings. Seating is limited and there is also a good selection of tea and coffee available. Note: I do not know if facilities are available on premise.

No sampling? That’s just ridiculous. Not like people aren’t going to get creative to steal a lick. Anyway, this is a self serve yogurt shop where you choose your frozen yogurt flavor and go to a toppings station to pile on whatever your little heart desires. All for $ 0.54/ounce. I tried three flavors: euro tart, plum, and pistachio. The pistachio yogurt combined with crumbled pistachio nuts is pretty darn awesome and my favorite of the three. The euro tart is well… very tarty and only subtly sweet which is just the way I like it. Both the pistachio and euro tart yogurts are quite creamy in consistency. The plum one was too icy, like an Italian ice. Plum is definitely a unique flavor for a froyo but I probably would not get that again. Overall, this place has ample lighting, good amount of seats, and some fairly tasty frozen yogurts. However, I still prefer my Pinkberry or Red Mango any day.

It’s the same concept for most of these frozen yogurt places now(me thinks). Vanilla Sky is comparable to any red mango, pinkberry, name-your-favorite-frozen-yogurt place. They charge by weight, and have the same pick your own toppings set up. It’s a nice pit stop on a beautiful day to people watch if you can squeeze yourself into their outdoor seating area. Austin Street does get a little crazy on the weekends, but it’s close and when the weather is nice, there’s no rule as to what specific awesome neighborhood you need to be in right? I’m just happy it’s frozen yogurt season finally!

Sorry Red Mango but Vanilla Sky has actually got you beat in a few things… many things… 1) Flavors: The flavors at vanilla sky are surprisingly great! Everything I tried was on point. The pumpkin tasted just like pumpkin pie and the pistachio was so creamy and smooth. Even the strawberry kiwi which I don’t usually go for was perfect. 2) Toppings: They have popping boba, mochi. Need I say more? 3) Space: this location is much larger and has lots of seating compared to red mango where you have to balance yourself on the one stool they have. Yea.Its basically better in every way. I really didn’t expect to like this place at all and have been avoiding it. Lets face it, this corner location on Austin is cursed. Nobody lasts but hopefully Vanilla Sky is a keeper.
