This is one of my favorite bars in the area. The alcohol selection is excellent and extensive. The décor gives the feel of a good Chicago Irish bar; long wooden bar, high ceilings with exposed HVAC(tasteful, not tacky), and several old-school Guinness signs. It’s also arranged very well with dart machines located in the back and out of the way, tall tables in the middle closest to the bar, and standard tables and chairs toward the front by large windows that are open during nice weather. There are TVs but the volume is rarely at a level where it interferes with your conversation. The floor, tables, and chairs have been dirty at times as this place does serve food, but I’ve yet to encounter a mess that can’t be easily brushed to the floor with your hand. All in all, highly recommended for a good drink without the hassle of going to the North Side.

Easily my favorite bar on Madison. Good beer selection, reasonable prices and solid bar food. Is the food fine dining? No. It’s a bar. I do however really like their reuben sandwich. I’ve always had great service here from the attentive wait staff. Nice cold beer! Good crowd! Great bartenders who know how to pour beer from their nice assortment of draft beer!

We were looking for a place to watch Cubs/sox game and get some food when we came across Healys having parked not too far. Loved it! They had a shrimp and oyster special so we tried some shrimp that was very good. This place is way bigger than it looks from the outside and clean. They have a lot of comfort foods on the menu — pot roast was one. In any case — all was good and can’t wait to check it out again!

The burger was ok, standard pre made frozen patty cooked to an unrecognized color. However the sweet potato fries were excellent. The service left a lot to be desired. Still it’s a sports bar, and has a ton of room. I’d give it another go.

They got good eats. Nice big sizes for dat Midwestern belly youse gotta fill. Nice by da kids too. Nice portions rather large, makes a nice sack lunch for the next days. Youse can put it by da sack and go by the office. They don’t skip on the condiments neiders. It’s got a nice ambiance, nice cold beers, friendly staff, and tasty tid bits.

Great place for sports and hamburgers, a little hard to find parking but it’s worth it. I always have their New Mexico burger which comes with avocado and pico De gallo, yummy!

Surprisingly solid food, some of the Irish fare is excellent. Beer is affordable. The place is spacious but usually desolate. The dart machines are in a great setup, the only problem is they never work.

My husband and I used to frequent this bar back when we would drink loads of cheap beer and smoke inside but hadn’t been back in years. Seeing that they were appealing to the ‘craft beer’ crowd we gave it another shot. The bar is spacious and has so much potential, however, under utilized and pretty empty on week nights. The bar still smells faintly of stale smoke. The specials written in chalk haven’t changed in 10 years. It’s like a relic frozen in time. The printed tap list hadn’t been updated in months. My husband felt that the beer tasted a little off from dirty tap lines and the hoppy beer was not as fresh as could be. For old time sake we tried to play the electronic game machine. It was broken.

Love how spacious this bar is! They have a large-windowed store front with panels that open for fresh air when it’s warm. Good beer prices/specials going on as well. We went here during the St. Pats parade and were still able to get a drink quickly. I want to come back when I can actually get a spot to sit and stay a while! I will be back soon.

DEGRADEDANDINSULTEDMEINFRONTOFOTHERGUESTS. HORRIBLEESTABLISHMENT. This is the worst place on Madison. Almost always completely dead. Creepy men and fat bartenders. I’ve never in my life been so disrespected. Even the owner said rude comments to me and a friend. I was so embarrassed and upset, I genuinely couldn’t believe what was being said to me. There were horrible people and all around bad customer service. They were rude and obnoxious. Treated my friend and I like degenerates. I have no idea how or why that happened but wanted to share my story with others. Be prepared to deal with barbaric and insensitive jerks who will make you feel belittled. Treated women poorly and had no decency. I have NEVER been so poorly treated. I don’t normally leave reviews about a place but thought it was important to share.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of beers to choose from, best wings in town. Bartenders on Friday night were friendly, fast and funny. Best bar on Madison st.

Love Healy’s Westside! Fantastic after work spot. Never over crowded. Bartenders are always friendly… And I’ve never had a bad mystery shot!

I love Healy’s for what it is, and what it can be… a family-friendly neighborhood bar/restaurant where you can always catch your favorite games, and get a good meal for a great price. For some reason, our toddler is the best behaved at Healy’s compared to other restaurants. Maybe it’s the friendly servers who make our son smile, or the open and well-lit space with a lot of visual distractions for an antsy toddler. But we’ve come here often during the day on weekends for Michigan games or March Madness. With all the tv screens, they’ll always have your favorite game on. We usually get a huge mound of hot or bbq wings(really reasonably priced), and their sampler platter is awesome when we’re in the mood for greasy goodness. Their kids’ menu is basically adult-sized portions for about $ 3 or $ 4 bucks, can’t beat it. If only they had a baby changing station in the bathroom, it would be perfect. Alas…

*Warning: This review is primarily based off of having a few drinks and maybe an appetizer. I do not eat their food here regularly. I only go to Healys for drinks and finger foods* Okay-I have this weird thing about small bars. I feel like everyone is way too close to me and it gets really super loud in tight places. The amazing thing about Healys is that I never feel as if I’m suffocating. It’s a HUGE place. Plenty of tables and bar space. On slow days, you can be completely secluded and have a great conversation over drinks with someone and you won’t have to raise your voice. I really enjoy Healys for a quick drink with some friends or a more mellow night with the boyfriend. The service is pretty good! The servers and bartenders are always friendly. They’re usually pretty fast and efficient. I haven’t been to Healys when it’s super crowded, so I’m not sure how they function under pressure. Oh, the best part is, they aren’t stingy on alcohol with mixed drinks. Love that. Overall, great experiences at Healys.

This is really one of the top bars in downtown Forest Park. I have been here several times and I am always happy with my experience. Its never too crowded, the staff is always really cool, and the location is great. Free Wifi

I don’t really think that you come to Healy’s for the food. This is a pub for sure! The main attraction is the alcohol. They have a huge selection and it’s hard to make a choice. We loved all the Irish beers to choose from that were on tap — Guinness, Smithwick’s and Harp to name a few. Went early one weekend evening, definitely an off hour so it’s hard to talk about the noise level or what the service would be like during a peak time. Early on a Saturday it was pretty quiet and the service was attentive.

My whole family came here for a drink to kill some time before dinner. My dad and brother appreciated all the tvs, especially those with hockey on, as well as the selection of Irish beers on tap(my parents just came back from a trip to Ireland). Love that they also had cider on tap, although I ended up with the biggest gin and tonic in history. Friendly waitstaff and a cool place to relax and catch up with friends. Or play a board game! They have a strangely large library of games available in the bar.

Open late. A great variety of beer. Spacious, plenty of tables as well as bar space. I enjoy the convertible windows on a warm nice. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. TVs, darts and a jukebox… Perfect for a night cap, after dinner drink, or if you just want to have a drink and watch the game.

I have become a fan of Healy’s Westside. It’s bright, full of pretty wood, not usually so overcrowded that you want to punch people in the face, and the bathrooms are well maintained(hey, I want a nice clean toilet seat). The beer selection is far better than another big bar on he strip I shall not name here. The atmosphere is welcoming, there’s a decent amount of places to sit, and during the St. Patrick parade on Madison is has nice big windows for people watching. I would recommend checking this place out. Oh, and tip your bartenders. They are pretty rad.
