Check it. Mad deals! This is by far the best bar on the 7600 block of Madison. I got straight faded one night off Hypnotic(ALLDAYBABY!) and my boy pizza scored some Marlboro 27’s in the bathroom. We smoked squares and freestyle rapped for hours. Out of nowhere Orlando Cabrera showed up(MYBOYOC!). I legit bought him a jäger bomb! Five stars*****WILL B BACK!

This is the diviest of dives to experience. Two stars because the staff is friendly and the drinks were ok– but don’t expect anything craft here. They had as many varieties of smirnoff vodka’s as any college kid could want(even rootbeer?!?), which brought back many terrible flashbacks of poor college days… People were clearly smoking in the dingy, rundown bathroom, and outside in a back area, while keeping the door propped open on their foot. Love that smoky smell you instantly pick up! I wore it like perfume the rest of the night. Ok, the joy in those sentences is not legit, but the smell definitely was! Credit cards have a $ 15 limit. I don’t think I’ll go back unless I want to get mugged-sied.

I don’t get all the negative reviews for this place. Out of all the forest park bars this is my favorite spot. They have awesome drink specials, an outdoor seating area, and the people are fucking friendly. Mugsy’s draws a diverse crowd of people and I have never encountered a «crackhead». Each time I have come I have an amazing experience. They also have days in which they serve bbq which is pretty awesome.

Um… Well, I think the nicest way for me to say this is that it wouldn’t be my first choice. The strangest varieties of people have been in when I’ve been there. A six year old boy, a very loud woman talking to me about marital aids, metal heads, and a really large group of 20 somethings who look like they fell out of a rap video. Just a weird mix. There’s nothing there that especially wows me. It’s not like they have a great selection or cheap drinks it’s just sort of… ya know… there. I’d find somewhere else to go if you’re in the neighborhood. There are plenty of places around.

I live pretty far from this place and instead of going to my new regular spot Omalleys, I’ve been coming here for the last few months why becuz I finally found my regulars and a bartender that wasn’t rude. What I wrote 8 months ago!!! I stand by what I said. Cuz whatever assholes were there were dicks. If I wanted that treatment I would of went to teaser. I’ve brought friends and had my other close friends bday here recently. I always tip good so idk why ppl are giving me shit for what I wrote 8MONTHSAGO! !

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I’m not a fan of cocaine, roofies, or bar fights. Sorry. Wait no, not sorry.

This place attracts mostly locals. The atmosphere is pleasant, but it’s somewhat of a dive. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this is the place for you. It’s a nice stop on a bar crawl, I suppose.

If in Forest Park, Il and looking for a good little bar to drink in Mugsy’s is not a bad place. This bar is located on the Westside of Forest Park on the border of River Forest. The bar been there for years and back in the day was the prime hang-out for the Forest Park Police. Over the years owners have changed and the place has been remodeled. The interior of the establishment has a wood floor, wood bar, wood walls and wood trimmings. In the rear is an outside beer garden. The establishment has seating at the bar and tables along the walls. They have a pool table, a dart machine, TVs and a digital Magic Tunes juke box. They have several beers on tap. I prefer a pint of Leinekugels. They also have a Jagermeister Machine. The crowd is a mixure of young and more mature people from the Forest Park /River Forest area. They have several younger progressive female bartenders during the week. On Saturdays the establishment sets out free food for the customers. Last Saturday was Wisconsin Bratts with all the trimmings. Dennis the bartender, is a good Irish /American guy who served his country in Vietnam. Just a nice guy and good bartender. The patrons are very nice and after I played some good tunes on the juke box, the crowd started to sing along. Just people drinking, dancing and having fun. The prices are very cheap for a Cook County bar. It is just a nice friendly bar where one can have fun with no problems. Taxi cabs are also easily available in that area. Forest Park has numerous bars, I enjoy this place. Always drink safety, and if not stayed parked. Madisn Street on Friday nights is also very fun.(:

I don’t know what every other review is about. I’ve been to mugsy’s a few times and its been fantastic. The people are always in good spirits and having fun listen to great music. If your looking for good music, cheap drinks, and a great night stop into mugsy’s!

well, we walked into the place to find there was no music, just stale smoke. I also did smell smoke in the john! and it wasn’t from tobacco! the f bombs were flying by an old geezer that was chatting with my friend in regards to the health care reform. I thought he was a nice old guy until he opened his mouth. No personality here! but… there are $ 1.50 pitchers on Wednesday’s, that is enough reason to go back.

I think there’s extra testosterone in the beer because there are a lot of fights here, a lot. But if you’re into heavy metal, or just kind of like that risky feeling of walking into a dive bar where everyone turns around and stares at the new arrival, then you might enjoy stopping in for a drink. They actually have a great jukebox, and a small beer garden in the back with one of those popular bean bag toss games. The bartenders are friendly, and once you get to know the regulars they’re not so bad. Cash only, and be careful where you park because you will get a ticket if you park on one of the side streets on the north side of Madison.

This place is pretty shady — I’m a fan of dives but this one rubs me the wrong way. However, they are scofflaws and let patrons sit outside on their back deck past midnight even though local law says it must be closed by then. One extra star for this.

Oh Mugsy’s, you my friend, are a dive among many dives and NOT in a good way. There’s a pool table and three dart boards, it’s crowded, but not because they are busy… you’re crowded because this place is just that small. The electronic jukebox has old stuff and random new mainstream songs, but really not much good at all. It’s always hot, even in the middle of winter. Now that IL has the no smoking ban I can actually breath in here, but it still smells like an ashtray =( I used to shoot darts in a league here and I can’t figure out why. The clientele are generally shady and scuzzy. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few really nice people, but overall not so much. Two stars, one for strong drink and nice bartenders and the other for your outdoor patio.

I agree with Pat on this one. I haven’t been there in while but it’s always filled with seedy looking characters and it’s name is synonymous with drug use.

The piece of poo of the madison ave bars. Consists of a weird mix of crackheads, cops, and crackhead cops(I’m serious). Also contains generally scummy people. Seriously sit this one out.
