Wonderful customer service, a wide range of yarns organized by weight, a good sale. What more could one wish for?

The ladies here are great, helpful, and knowledgeable. They even helped me find a spinning wheel(a dream of mine for years)! I shop here whenever I’m in the area and it’s always a treat.

This is a friendly, knowledgeable yarn shop. Their prices are fair and I look forward to taking classes to advance my knitting skills. What a rare treasure. They have a nice assortment of quality fiber.

I reserve the right to up my rating as I go back. I’ve been an armature crocheter for years but this is my first venture into quality yarns. I was very excited to visit after reading reviews. The owner was a bit distracted by some resident knitters and the very cute resident dog so it took a few minutes for her to help us even though we were the only ones in the store. She knows less about crochet but was able to steer me to a very nice affordable yarn in colors my boyfriend will love for the blanket I’m making. So once she helped she was very helpful. Also in helping me figure out how much yarn I’ll actually need for the project, having not tackled a bed sized blanket before. They had some wonderful beautiful yarns. They are much hirer quality than at the box stores so that comes at a price. I was prepared for that(well not quite). But their prices are right on par with what the yarn costs anywhere you go. The owner was very nice and told us about classes and open knit night which I might go to soon. I had a really great experience and bought enough to start the project so I’ll be back for a lot more.

My wife needed some ‘nice’ yarn for a project that she was working on, so Knit Nirvana was on our errands list one afternoon. As Her Majesty was pawing through the balls of string, the light went on. hmmm… I can’t tell a knitting needle from an ice pick, but love tools. There are $ 2 screw drivers, & $ 10 screw drivers, so I whisper to Katherine… psst, I’d like to spend $___. Can you find out what she has, & what I could give her for ___(fill in the current birthday, anniversary, holiday). Katherine did a bit of knit chat, & slipped me a package that fit the $ I was willing to spend. I still don’t know beans about knitting, but sure like that kind of customer service ! ! !. I don’t understand why she needs dozens of knitting needles, but she doesn’t understand why I need 3 band saws. We leave with yarn, a pattern, & valentine’s day(still 3 weeks away) covered. Hey this is ok ! ! My wife considers herself an intermediate knitter, & had been using free patterns from the internet. She’s happy about this recent discovery. There are benefits to a $ 6.00 pattern & a real knit shop. They include… A — Tech support = if you don’t understand something, a real person will be glad to explain it(probably over the phone). B — They can help with yarn & pattern selection, & know who was or wasn’t happy with which yarns or colors C — they help match projects with your skill level, & can suggest a pattern that would help you to expand your talents. D — They provide a place to gather with others & have weekly knitting groups. E — They accept refunds so you can buy more than you’ll need, & will give you a refund if you have leftovers. Dye lots may not be interchangeable.(a ‘reasonable’ time period is probably required). F — they are willing to help a spouse with gift selection. I suppose a gift certificate would fit, but having a ‘tool’ is more personal as far as I’m concerned. If you need cheap yarn, there are other places. If you want helpful & knowledgable advice, & a place to get strung out with like minded knitters, this seems like the place to go. The help they offered this handyman/knit spouse was very welcome.

Best yarn store in the Chicagoland area that I was able to find in my weeklong trip there. The owners were both present and super super friendly and helpful, more so than at most yarn stores. I immediately felt very comfortable and welcomed, even though it was my first time there. There was a pretty big sale going on, which didn’t help my budget at all. The selection is pretty amazing here. Or perhaps it just happens to match my taste perfectly. I picked up a lot of things from my wishlist because they were on sale and found quite a few new things as well. Very dangerous place! I’m both happy and sad that I don’t live within driving distance of this store.

I was in search of the proper needle for a mobius cowl and stopped in here when I was in the area. The ladies were very friendly and were eager to help. They looked up the pattern on Ravelry and picked out the best needle. If you live in the area, this should be your LYS.

This yarn store is my idea of knitting heaven! The yarn is beautiful, the store is immaculate, the owner and the employees are incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is a table in the back where people can gather to knit together. I would love to trade that table in for a bed and just live there. Did I say the yarn is amazing? Yarn store of my dreams.

I would like to strongly recommend Knit Nirvana, and in particular the helpfulness of its owner, Susan. She loves yarn, loves to knit, is an amazing designer of knitwear, and her enthusiasm is contagious. Most important to me, she took me from a novice knitter who could knit only straight scarves(knit and purl only, no increases or decreases) through knitting my first two sweaters from patterns, patiently helping me when I came to her for help, advice, or even reminders of what certain terms meant. Knitting doesn’t come naturally to me, but she was always encouraging, helpful, and supportive. I cannot even imagine what a resource her shop and her expertise must be to advanced and creative knitters. I’m sure her love of yarn and knitting will extend to every customer who walks in her door.
