I went in today to shop for mid century modern furniture and the owner was distasteful. He had a horrible attitude and personally I would not give business to someone who isn’t welcoming to their customers. Save yourself unnecessary disrespect.

11ish is a very relative term. Despite their posted hours, it’s now 12:09pm in the afternoon and the store is empty. After calling twice in hopes of coaxing a staff member to let me hope to find what I was looking for today, I have up and headed home. Looks like a cute place I could have bought a few things at today. 11ish. Ish.

Nice place. Missed seeing Tom, but had a nice conversation with Frankie Y’s son.(sorry.don’t remember his name but he was quite delightful) This old Slovak gal enjoyed seeing the the many beautiful pieces to select from. Reasonably priced. Displayed nicely as well as neat and clean. Will return to see what new selections of treasures they have brought in

This is hands-down, my fave in the area! Tom Krenek has impeccable taste and it really shows in the selection here. The prices are very reasonable and I have purchased a few furniture items here for my home and work. There is not much in the way of «filler» stuff here. Mostly all of it is great-looking and high-quality. This is my «come-to» place if I’m actually looking for something or just want to kill a half hour and enjoy myself…

Krenek’s is a small antique shop in downtown Forest Park with a very nice selection. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome. I went on a weekday afternoon, and I was the only person in the store. Since I am young, sometimes the owners will follow me around or watch me like a hawk to make sure I don’t steal. I didn’t feel uncomfortable here. I browsed at my own pace. Although I didn’t purchase anything, there was a nice varied selection of items from glassware and pottery to beautiful costume jewelry. Krenek’s resists the problem of overcrowding that many antique shops fall victim to– only very good or excellent condition items that were thoughtfully and tastefully displayed. I thought that the prices were reasonable, and pretty standard for an antique shop. There were several sale tables with 30% discount. Krenek’s increased their space by filling up a small shed behind the store as well with more household and furniture items. I enjoyed browsing, and will stop back in periodically to see what is new.
