Francis took my grandfathers 1940’s desk and turned it into a Bona Fide family heirloom. Very pleased with the quality craftsmanship and price of the work.

Francis Carr took my old table that looked like it had no life left in it, got it completely functional including all of the leaves, opening and shutting, and he rebuilt the stand/reglued the stand and it looks brand new. An inherited table just went from an old table to an heirloom in a few weeks. Tips for the consumer: Give him time, he’s a perfectionist and you’ll be extremely satisfied He is an early bird and things get going early, so contact him then Be prepared to pay good money, but to get your money’s worth

We had an old walnut bureau which had been in the family for some time. It had no back, the sides had separated from the top, the top had a split in it, the drawers didn’t set correctly when closed and it had a bottom molding that had fallen off. The finish was ruined and had worn off in places. Francis Carr refinished it, fixed everything and showed me how beautiful it would be without stain. It is now a shining beautiful antique. He takes pride in his work and does an outstanding job.

Francis is very good & does a nice job. Faster than expected. The reason one star less was the pressure to get my piece out ASAP. Considering he’s closed on the weekends and not open on a Monday? Cash/Check only does not take credit cards and see if possible if he can give you and idea before you leave your stuff with him how much it will be, you don’t need sticker shock like I did.

Great work done quickly. We’ve had several pieces of furniture stripped of old paint and varnish over the years and have always been pleased with the results.

We had nice end table with a shattered leg. We weren’t sure it was worth repairing, but we really liked it and so decided to give the Furniture Recylcer a try. A week later he had it ready for us, with the fix completely invisible, and charged us $ 20! We were delighted. He’s also a really nice guy and it’s fun to watch him in the shop. If you’re bringing furniture in, it’s a lot easier to go in the back(off the alley) and that seems to be the entrance most people use instead of the step-up entrance on Madison.

The owner of this shop is a perfectionist. He refinishes everything by hand and does absolutely amazing work! My friends and family take all of our antiques and furniture to him and have for over 20 years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
