While delivering today my son and I had to grab a bite on the way this the most perfect bistro. Amazing eggs Benedict to the best crumb cake in the world. I’ll drive another hour 1.5 just for those.

Great food. Breakfast sandwich with ham is one of my favorites. My wife enjoys the Belgian waffle. Coffee is great although the weird coffee cups are a bit annoying. Lunch is also good, however the choices are rather limited. Don’t come here if you are really hungry or don’t want foo foo food. Bread place for a ladies brunch. Crappy place for a team of construction workers. The crumb cake is awesome. The wait time can be rather long sometimes, so don’t come if you’re in a hurry. That being said everyone is super nice. It’s a place to relax and visit.

This is one of my new regular breakfast spots. Healthy, good, international eatin… Small but nicely decorated atmosphere featuring various local rotating artist work for sale on the walls. The only negative is that once in a while they can get very busy(deservingly so). The cakes are awesome !!! Owner checks on you to make sure you’re happy. He’s happy to share how he built his menu. My favorite? Get the Taylor Ham with your breakfast !!!

Oh this is cool food, coffee latte place with dif crumb cakes a special make here. Having breakfast waffle, eggs and ham with Americano and honey. Very nice setting in old downtown small area. Great service. Crumb cake is real good tho I’m not a huge fan. Some new here is excellent and Chelsea doing great for me. Waffle is of Belgian nature and quite dif than anything similar I’ve had. Maybe more heavy and sweet. Maple butter new to me I think. This is a wonderful blend and no additional syrup really needed but would be ok. Ham is Taylor of NY/NJ area. Is a ground and lean roll cut. I would have liked a larger portion but this is ok and excellent quality. Better, much, than other previous. Beautiful everything about this experience. Vanilla cinnamon crumbler ice cream… wow good. You must

Not only is the food delicious but they were so welcoming to a group of us taking breastfeeding pictures there with a bunch of babies and kids.

I had brunch here today. The food was amazing. I had the gaufre liege waffles with cinnamon streusel butter, gruyère egg soufflé, and coffee. The owner/chef was very friendly. It was not crowded which was unbelievable for Sunday brunch. Prices are okay but portions are not that big. I like the coffee cups and that they actually have real half n half and bring it to your table in a cute carafe. I ordered a piece of there famous crumb cake, cinnamon streusel, but I took it to go. I havent tried it yet but it looks delish. I can’t wait to try the eggs benedict over crab cakes. This is a hidden gem in downtown Forney… too bad I dont live close by.

The food was exceptional! Service was fine. Not as good as the waffle and eggs Benedict. The chef came out for a chat.

Don’t waste your time or money. Over priced, slow service and apparently you need to tell the staff how to warm your cake. The chef came to the table to ask how the cake was and didn’t like that I said it tasted old. He blamed the server and said next time tell her to warm it more. There won’t be a next time. My husband had the eggs Benedict and was very disappointed. I also ordered the waffle and side of Taylor ham… The ham was a hockey puck and waffle was so tough couldn’t cut it with a knife. Our bill was $ 45… Really not worth it.

I had my baby shower here and it was perfect! We had sandwiches and coffee/tea. Their coffee is seriously amazing! It was very decently priced compared to what you would pay for the same type of place in Dallas.

I went to breakfast before work with my coworker & this place was awesome! Great breakfast food to choose from that you can’t get at regular breakfast places like Waffle House, or iHop. Another thing I noticed was they are a big supporter of the community, the art work on the walls is were all drawn by north Forney/Forney high school students. The food does take a little longer because they make everything from scratch, but it’s totally worth the wait. We were very pleased. Our server was also very sweet & helpful. I recommend going for breakfast if you get the opportunity.

Not knowing whether to seat myself or wait for the waitress right in front of me to acknowledge/guide me, I stood at the door for a few minutes. Then I finally asked her«Do I seat myself in here?» to which she replied«Sit over there, that table is empty» after hesitantly browsing around. I did. She brought the menu and before I could speak to order, she had disappeared. So now again I was confused whether to wait for her or go up to the empty counter to order. After looking around for a while and being stared back by other diners, i saw one of the diners go to the counter to pay, so i stood behind him. But before I went forward, she rushed to the back and disappeared. That’s when I decided to disappear myself and never go back.

It took 35 minutes to finally get our food for a party of 2, overall the service was fine waitress was cute and sweet… but come on, you had 5 people in the restaurant at the time, why would this take so long… the food was asboutley TERRIBLE! Such a shame I really wanted to like this place but I would never come back!

My husband, 2 sons, and I decided to try Crumbzz today. Despite the reviews, we were sorely disappointed. It all started with the lack of room for a high chair and the feeling that kids really aren’t welcome.(If you serve breakfast, expect kids so have tables that fit a high chair!) Then the waitress took her time(she was enjoying her phone) with our coffee, OJ, and waters. In fact, she served the table that came in after us first. Pretty disappointing. So the food… we ordered the Taylor ham sandwich, the crab cake eggs Benedict, the waffle, a fruit bowl and 2 different crumb cakes. After waiting 40 minutes(the chefs didn’t even start our order until the table that came in after us was served), we finally got our food. 40 minutes is a long time when you have a hungry 3 year old boy a 9 month old boy who were both waiting for their food… a waffle and a fruit bowl. My sandwich had over hard eggs(the waitress even made sure I knew the were supposed to be over easy eggs when I ordered) and my husband’s poached eggs were way over cooked which makes for a terrible eggs Benedict. After expressing my displeasure about the over cooked eggs, the chef came out and her excuse was that’s she training a new cook. What happened to quality control? Double checking your trainee? Hello??? That’s part of your job! She offered to make more eggs but by this point my boys were ready to go and so were we! The only redeeming quality of Crumbzz are their crumb cakes. We tried the lemon and the regular one and they both were divine. They at least have that part down. We wasted 54 $ here today and I know I will never come back to this establishment!

Pricey but worth it! We found this place on Unilocal as we were driving home from Lindale, and it’s the jewel of Forney. I had a cup of tomato basil soup and grilled cheese(which is gouda cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms… I had one of each in mine), while my boyfriend had the spinach and mushroom quiche. Both were very good, but my grilled cheese turned out to be only half a sandwich… for $ 7.50. Cup of soup was $ 5.50. We also shared a vanilla latte and took a cup of coffee to go. Total bill was $ 30. The chef that day was super-friendly, as was our waitress. We will stop in again soon!

Hidden jewel in Forney, but I don’t believe I can go back until basic service etiquette and proper staff procedures are put into place. As a business owner, why spend 100k on slate floors, beautiful décor, eclectic art, and creative food only to hire employees to drive customers away? The first time we visited, I thought the lone server was just having a bad day; complaining out loud to the cook in an open kitchen, seemingly annoyed that people were present in the bistro, was not necessarily rude but all-in-all no warmth emanating from the server making an over all inviting atmosphere unwelcoming, uncomfortable, and unappetizing. The second visit revealed the server is just in the wrong position. Making me wonder out loud if this place will make it. As we walked in we received a greeting from the back of the kitchen. When the server approached the table and was offered a hearty«Good Morning» the reciprocation was«What are you having to drink?». A few moments later, another customer offered an enthusiastic«Good Morning» and was greeted by, «Have a seat.» We then overheard the server, once again in an open kitchen, announce for all to hear, «These are not clean!» «Uh –oh. What is not clean?» were my thoughts. So instead of discussing the wonderful soufflé, the poached eggs over crab cake, or the worthwhile coffee in a «this is too good to be true for Forney» review, we leave asking, «Why would an owner hire someone like that to be the face of one’s business?»

Crumbzz is a great place to get a gourmet breakfast or lunch in Forney. Known for their crumbcakes, they also have some upscale culinary options that are a welcome change to the usual Forney fare. The service isn’t the fastest, but the décor is modern and the changing local art makes it a great escape with an urban, artsy vibe in a small town.

Way over priced and under quality. We were looking forward to trying it and then very disappointed! No need to try it again though! She had the Gaufre Lige Waffles which were extremely dry and hard, asked for syrup but refused because«that’s not how we serve it, try it first». I had half a Friboug Grilled Cheese(which was not made with mushrooms & caramelized onions like the menu said) with a cup of French Onion Soup. The rye bread was stale and dry(menu said it comes on seven-grain bread, no biggie though) and the soup was very bland and watery with giant chunks of onions that were very crunchy like it wasn’t even cooked long enough. We were gonna try some cake but after being so disappointed by our small portioned $ 30 lunch, we couldn’t bring ourselves to order anything else!

First time to lunch at Crumbzz and what a pleasant surprise. Although I was a little disappointed they did not serve alcohol, I overheard the owner say they are close to serving craft beer and wine which will round it out for me. Come on… it’s Sunday brunch/lunch after all. The Hubs and I had the crab cake eggs Benedict, tuna salad sandwich and French onion soup. We topped it off and shared a slice of the original crumb cake(cinnamon). All was delicious and the cake is brag worthy. Price was on point given the fresh and whole foods they serve up. The owner is a delight and adds to the experience. He truly loves to travel and share his adventures with others. Bonus– the place doubles as an art gallery so look around and find the next master piece you want to take home.

So my boyfriend and I stopped by this place after leaving the Dallas airport at 6am from a redeye flight from Seattle… Checked Unilocal for highest rated places, found this and was so glad we did. Such a cute, trendy atmosphere and amazing food. The owner of the place came by and personalized our visit with a little background about himself and the menu. I had the Taylor ham and egg breakfast sandwich(so simple, but SOAMAZING… Taylor ham tastes like the perfect in-between of ham and bacon) and my boyfriend had the banana rum French toast and loved it. 4 thumbs up from us.
