Pollo Ranchero

Pollo Ranchero is so far, the best Mexican Restaurant in Forney. It is in a shopping center and is not fancy at all. The service is friendly and good and food is typical Tex-​Mex. The hot sauce did not pass my hot sauce test and is way too bland and mild. Kinda like canned tomatoes cut up and poured into a bowl. We asked for some «hot» hot sauce and they brought us a creamy red blend of something like blended up hot red peppers– we poured it into the tomato sauce salsa and it helped the spiciness, but not the lack of flavor.
The queso was creamy and smooth, but no bells were ringing for me there either. The chips were crispy.
I had some decent cheese enchiladas with chili on top. Not bad. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal. So, if you are in Forney and want Mexican food, you can be safe at Pollo Ranchero’s.
