Let me just start this post by saying… I HATESUBWAY! So for me to give a Subway 3 stars… is actually an equivalent to 6 stars for those who like the place. I have never been much of a sandwich eater. Even though I grew up in a family that ate out every meal… there was always a casserole of some sort in the refrigerator. That casserole was lovingly heateed up every morning by my dad, put in a thermos & packed in my lunch kit. No, I’m not a spoiled only child… but I am a very well taken care of only child. I know no one else in my kindergarten class that had Godiva in her lunchkit. Ok. back to the review. Saturday my parents rented a Penske truck and brought some of my furniture up from Waco to Allen. We also finally unloaded my storage shed out in Forney(from when I lived in Canton last year) and brought all of that junk to Allen as well. After loading the truck up and emptying the storage shed… we drove ¼ of a block down the street to the combination Subway/Shell station. I would complain that the bathrooms only had air dryers & not paper towels, but that’s not Subway’s fault. that’s the Shell station. Two of my friends(Hi Jenn) and my parents were there and decided to eat before making the trek to Allen. We had 56″ sandwiches, 3 bags of chips, 1 bag of apple slices, a yogurt &5 drinks. It was subway. Not a lot to brag about, but there was one HUGE thing that made this Unilocal Post possible. THEYHAVESPINACH&AVOCADO! About a year or so ago, when the world was going thru the Spinach Crisis… I’d say 90% of the Subways(research by acquaintances) decided that when the crisis was over, to not bring back the spinach to the selection of toppings. I’d say that the majority of the Subways discontinued carrying avocado also. Why is the minor thing of having Spinach worthy of a Unilocal Post? Because I’m ALLERGICTOLETTUCE. I hate trying to get salads out in public because a lot of places dont carry spinach. Others(yes, I’m looking at you Jack in the Box) want to fill the bowl mostly with lettuce & then a very thin top layer of spinach and call it a spianch salad. No DICE. So, in my eyes… Subway with Spinach & Avocado is edible… those without aren’t.
