Average breakfast, nothing stood out. Service was fine. Very dark inside for all you Vampires lol Would I go back? No, I would try another place for sure

I ordered the New York strip with baked potato and got the $ 3 discount for only ordering one side. Ordered the steak medium well and it came exactly how I like it — meaning the outer surface is firm and brown and the inside is a light to medium pink has plenty of juices that no blood running. Had plenty of food and it tasted excellent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 and because the service staff did not seem very engaged with the

This was an excellent little restaurant off the beaten path. I thoroughly enjoyed the sirloin tips. The rustic décor made for an old age dining experience. If ever in the area again, I will definately stop in for a bite to eat.

Stop by now for each meal of the day, and reason the return is the family rustic appeal. The décor inside is in an old west theme, and well done. Service has always been friendly, and food is good. Have business in the area, and this is nice to have in the area. If traveling along 25 it is worth exiting for.

Second time at this establishment and it’s just as fantastic as the first time. Wide menu selection, relaxing atmosphere and great tasting food from the salad to the prime cuts of meat to the desserts. One can’t go wrong making a dinner date at this steakhouse.

Well, I cannot review the food because I never had the chance to try it! We arrived, asked which direction the lounge was and she escorted us to it, then told us to sit wherever we’d like. We chose a booth with a view of the game on television. After waiting for about 15 minutes for water, menus… the waitress comes over and very loud and rudely announces the section we were sitting in was closed(we had absolutely no way of knowing this but then saw a small sign indicating the section is closed until 5:30(it was 5:20). As we got up to find another seat in the«open» section, she politely(sarcasm) told us that we’d be better off moving into the dining room as we might get better service! I was stunned that a server would be so rude for absolutely no reason. I mumbled that I never heard a waitress say that to a customer(I was a waitress for 7 years) and she then tried to back-peddle saying something like, well, I’m really busy waiting on customers(umm, we were NOT considered customers?!). I thought about calling the manager but if he isn’t aware of the extremely rude and inept waitress he hired, its not my place to tell him.

The Charco Broiler is like a time capsule into the golden age of steak houses ca. 1965. Years ago when FoCo was dry, this place outside the city limits was the go-to place for good food and drinks. Mom and I chose lighter fare this time: the prime rib salad did not disappoint. Unfortunately, we noticed the ad for half-price bottles on Winesday-Wednesday or we might have lingered longer. Guess we’ll have to come back again for a celebration.

NOW my family has a steak house in Fort Collins, CO.(…tell you about my dispensary another time…) My lovely partner & best friend turned 40 today &, to welcome her to this kick ass decade, we selected steak and potatoes & ’twas my job to find it. I consulted Unilocal!: …Chex on the salad? …the word«weird» in a review? …“on point”!!! I was in! We were set up in «The Back Forty”(…& on a 40th birthday… whaaaaat!!!) as a party of 6; Mary Beth(on point!) took fantastic care of us, even making a suggestion/solicitation-for-review of a new beer… Long Table(Ale) from New Belgium Brewery… review: delicious! fruit notes in the nose, pretty darkish amber, smooth mouth feel, light grainy finish… good beah! The steaks(ribeye, ny strips, …something awesomely tender wrapped in bacon…) were… ONPOINT! mediums all around & juicy… tender, just the right sear on the surface… little texture… then carnivore delight. Salads were all fine, basic, old school steak house. Baked potatoes… wonderful! perfect size(fist) & perfectly baked. SO… steak — perfection; staff — ONPOINT! Ambience? holy moly red foly… This place is… art. It is art on the outside with long, interesting angles, textures evoking the place where human beings and mountains meet, organically shaped rough cut beams… wow. …the art on the inside is… FUN! Old Funky Steak House meets boundary blurring art. Three dimensional art… several«paintings» fitting traditional two dimensional boundaries than feature central figures that rise out of the wall while maintaining an overall«traditional» western art style and feel!!! The Back Forty has one sculpture/painting of stampeding horses coming directly out of the wall, but which maintains a framed border like any other painting! me gusta. There is so much more that is fascinating to look at… I encourage ANY culinary or cultural adventurer to take in Charco Grill. We’ll be having left over steak in our eggs tomorrow! NOM. RabbiAlouiciousJohnson…OUT! [edit] oh yeah… fresh, crisp cantaloup slices! garlic mashed potatoes! some… grapefruit/lemonade cocktail thingy! *chuckle* good stuff.

This place is amazing! Great service and great food… steak was wonderful and cooked to perfection, the best baked potato I’ve ever had, and a killer award winning peanut butter cream pie. A definite must if you are in Fort Collins.

We are not from the area and parking is an issue when traveling cross country with everything you own so we saw this place with epic parking so we tried it. Looks can be deceiving and it is true with this place. What a gem! The quality of food is on point. My husband and I split the 26oz filets. The side salad has chex on it instead of croutons(awesome) then the mashed is heaven in your mouth. Also tried the green chili Colorado. My tummy is so happy. The portions were perfect, our waiter Jason(ask for him) even offered us a small sample of the peanut butter pie for dessert after we told him we tried but didn’t have the room. I was presently surprised. See you for breakfast tomorrow. That green chili is calling my name over eggs, potatoes and tortillas. Just saying, if it’s not on the menu it should be. And if it is– jackpot!

Amazing steak! I ordered the ribeye medium it was cooked perfectly. I did add some salt and pepper to taste. My sides were the salad and gourmet mashed potatoes… I was surprised to see they put Chex on the salad it adds crunch but kind of weird. The mashed potatoes texture I did not like as a matter of fact none of us did(3 people in my party). Very stodgy. The service was amazing! I believe her name was elaine?! Knowledgeable of the menu very polite and fast!

A great family steakhouse place, and just the right end to a day of entertainment for my out-of-town relatives. It was busy because of Father’s Day, and we got a table without hassle even when we rolled up without a reservation. It was worth a laugh when one of us got her dinner salad with CHEX as the garnish rather than the usual ho-hum croutons. I liked the wagon-wheel chandelier over the cashier’s desk, with light streaming through the ceiling. When I’m exploring up in the northern areas again, this will be a possibility for a stop.

While visiting Fort Collins, my brother and his umpire buddies invited me to dinner at Charco Broiler. Though I never crave a steak, I was promised that I could NEVER go wrong with the Pepper Steak, so. I caved and ordered it. Holy Toledo… The Pepper Steak was not only HUGE, but delicious. I got a side salad and the gourmet mashed potatoes for my starters. The side salad was basic, but quality. The gourmet mashed potatoes were AMAZING! They had some sort of cheese mixture in them. So so so so good! For the finale, I ordered the coconut crème pie. I am NOT a pie fan, but this was the best piece of pie that I have EVER had! Between the service, quality of food, and old Western atmosphere, I will certainly be back!

I don’t understand the better ratings from people for this place. I’m giving it 2 stars just because the baked potato was good. It is actually oven baked to perfection. The steaks were not to brag about, less than great cuts of meat and one was so tough it had to saw through it with the steak knife. The salad was a bunch of slightly brown iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of leaf lettuce, carrots and red onion, topped with corn chex. Service was decent. The interior is horrible. Dark, dank and weird. Go to Texas Roadhouse instead. It’s cheaper and the food is so much better.

A little slice of 1960’s nirvana, like a time capsule for steakhouses. We went for breakfast and weren’t disappointed. Facing a 700 mile leg of our trip we wanted to make sure we got started right and the vibe of this place did the trick. The entry and feeling of the building triggered what some might call flashbacks, the way the lighting and décor are just dark enough to to convince you its late at night — there are no windows. Service was fast and friendly. Very nice and helpful, although we missed breakfast by about 20 minutes our server pointed out the specials and I went with a steak sandwich that was heavenly. Although my salad did come with chex for croutons it was tasty and primed me for that sandwich just right. Price was great too. Would highly recommend, given its location right next to our hotel it’s a safe choice for travelers too.

Ate here last night, was satisfying but not extraordinary. Good: salads(the chex mix on top was a tasty surprise), petite filet(cooked perfectly to medium rare), ribeye and the baked potatoes. Also the bread rolls were fabulous! Bad: The pepper steak was over seasoned and over cooked. The«gourmet» mashed potatoes were full of flavor, but had a gluey consistency I didn’t care for. Overall, I liked it and the food was good. Since I didn’t like everything about my meal I can’t go above 4 stars, but if you’re looking for a low key place to eat with tasty food, this place fits the bill.

We have been coming here for years and it’s always been very consistent. My personal favorite is the lobster, but I also enjoy the steak kabob. The mushroom gravy is sooo yummy. I love the house salads with the chex mix and poppy seed vinaigrette. Also, the baked potatoes are something we have tried to replicate time and time again. As another reviewer mentioned, the peanut butter pie is something that shouldn’t be missed. Keep in mind, this is a very old building and most of the staff has been there as long as I can remember. The locals keep coming back and praising this restaurant for a reason.

I’ll give them a five star just for their rolls! Service was awesome and the atmosphere is comfortable. I enjoyed the ribeye and French onion soup. The ribeye was cooked exactly as I ordered and was great. And the French onion soup is pretty good after u get thru the thickest layer of mozzarella u have ever dreamed of!

Charco Broiler is super old school. If you’re in the mood for an old fashioned American burger and fries or steak and potato kind of meal I would recommend making your way over. My husband and I had been curious about this place for a while — we figured it had to be special if it has remained in the same place with all of its 1950’s Americana unadulterated. The inside is really very pretty. I’m sure back in the day this was the place you saved your nickels and dimes to have a steak on your anniversary, but the prices are very affordable. I mean, not they forgot to adjust the prices for inflation affordable, but pretty good for steak and burgers. Being from Chicago I also thought it was kind of neat that green chile is a side dish at a steak house. I had their Hawaiian burger and thought it was pretty good. I don’t think I would eat here regularly, but I’m glad I stopped by!
