Love this place! Every Time we go we get excellent service, awesome drinks and fresh delicious seafood– even if I ask for a special order.

Wonderful Bouillabaisse! If you go on a Friday(the only day they serve it, I think) you must try it! Service great. A little loud but food good enough to trump that!

I give this place a 5 star rating because the food was amazing and FRESH and the service was even better. The owner sat us at our table and was personable and very kind. Our server was also a lot of fun! Both super knowledgable and pleasant. We ended up being there for happy hour and saved some $ 35.00 or so on food and drinks with the happy hour prices! We had to get another round of the oysters because they were so good! All in all a great little place with lots of character and that special locally owned vibe! We’ll defiantly go back!

Being from Florida I eat a ton of seafood and can be a little picky from time to time. I have been known to order a fish dish and leave very disappointed because it was over cooked, over seasoned, etc. That being said I was beyond impressed with Fish. We went in a little too late on a Saturday to call it Brunch, a little too early to call it early dinner. We weren’t sure what we were looking for, and stumbled in because the menu looked good. We ended up with 2 cups of clam chowder to start with, and OMG its worth me flying 1,500+ miles in the winter for it. Usually clam chowder is a little too thick, or a little too salty, and usually you can’t taste the seafood. NOTHERE! The chowder was a touch on the thin side for chowder, but I was ok with this. The flavor was everything. I was pleasantly surprised to find a strong herb-y taste to it. And, my favorite part, you could actually taste the seafood in it! Ahhh, I almost ordered a second. I took the waitress’ recommendation and added a touch of hot sauce to it, this sealed the deal for me. I was THIS close to licking the bowl. We then moved on to the entrée, and I would tell you what it was but I couldn’t pronounce it. It was a special that started with ‘ch’ and it was mexican-ish? The picture is attached. It had shrimp, was slightly spicy with fried chip-like things underneath with a fried egg… it was the best brunch-like item I have ever had. Beyond that the space is on the small side, but very open. Our waitress was perfectly attentive and recommended a great cocktail with champagne for me. It was a great experience all around.

Wow! Driving thru from Denver to Jackson, Wy, we wanted to grab lunch and check out the historic district of Fort Collins. We Unilocaled Fish and arrived for lunch. Tap local beer, Sauvignon blanc from Sancerre, smoked paprika butter baguette… and that is before we ordered. They get the fish daily except Sunday and Tuesday and have been in business since the early 2000s. Excellent clam chowder and delicious ahi egg rolls were our starters. I had the bouillabaisse special with clams, fish, fennel and grilled bread. Divine! My husband had the best oyster po boy of his life with crunchy Cole slaw. Get there now! We will look for an excuse to return.

This place is great! $ 1 happy hour oysters and the calamari is AMAZING! The service is fantastic, and there are so many types of fresh fish to choose from. The atmosphere is much more relaxed and comfortable than Jax, and it is a locally-owned business! This is definitely a well kept secret in fort Collins.

I was at fish Oct 2015. Really neat little place. I’m from the east coast and was impressed with the selection and quality of seafood in a landlocked mountain town. I believe I got a special that involved halibut, on a bed of beautifully cooked shallots and I want to say spinach? I can’t remember, wish I could do it justice. The halibut was not the best I’ve ever had, but it was solid, well cooked, and not over seasoned. Again, for being so far from an ocean I was impressed. The best part of my experience was our server who’s name I think was Nicolas or Michael.. maybe(sorry potentially Nicolas or Michael for not remembering your name) point is I had read the hours incorrectly, and went in 45 minutes before closing with my elderly grandmother who took 15 minutes to order. I felt horrible I would never have done that but by the time I realized I had been mistaken about the hours our server assured me it was fine. My grandmother — god bless her — is old school Bronx and was giving this poor guy a hard time. He was great, answered all of her questions patiently, never gave so much as a hint that he was ready to close. Mystery server I’m so sorry you were berated about clam chowder. You are the best. 5 stars Nicolas or Michael you know who you are

After reading the other Unilocal reviews, I just had dinner here. It was my first time trying Fish in probably 5+ years. I live in the heart of Old Town, and with the recent closure of the Canyon Chop House across the street from me, I have been searching for a new place to patronize. In summary, the service was Meh(nothing really sucked, but nothing really stood out), but the food was spectacular(and I am tough to impress). I had the sword fish, which came with a delicious clam chowder. The price for what you got was certainly reasonable. The 3 front-of-house staff members all seemed to be focused on their own thing, and I overheard(and saw) a lot of personal conversations(and web surfing); none of them seemed really elated to be working there or interact with me, but they were all certainly adequate. They were patting themselves on the back for some recent 5-star review they got somewhere. Will I be back? Not sure, but me thinks that I will continue to visit JAX Fish House nearby for the time being(although Fish is closer to me), just because they have a more energetic(engaging) staff and a slightly better vibe(although their bar area gets overcrowded). That said, I would be open to trying Fish again sometime; maybe it was an off night, and like I said, the food experience was amazing, certainly meriting another chance. However, if their staff hospitality matched their food quality, I would probably eat there EVERY night and tell EVERYONE I know about the place.

Delicious food and the greatest staff! We went here to kick off a bachelorette party girls weekend get away. The menu didn’t disappoint in any way. We had calamari, chowder, halibut, salmon, and trout.

As far as casual upper end dining goes in Fort Collins, it’s tough to beat Fish. It’s the spot my family always wants to go back to when they visit. I’ve had several memorable meals there including a skewered grilled scallop dinner as well as a quick Parmesan trout lunch. the staff are attentive, welcoming, and professional. I recently had a word with one of the chefs personally and he too had a positive effect on the whole experience. if you’re worried about being this far inland and finding something to eat that was recently swimming, you can be sure to find refuge at Fish.

It’s hard to describe how pleased I am every time I go to Fish. The casual atmosphere coupled with the passionate wait staff is enough to keep me coming back weekly. However, the quality of ingredients is what shines brightest at Fish. The owners take great care in selecting the freshest and most responsibly sourced seafood available. My only criticism is that on occasion the specials feature beautiful seafood only to be overpowered extravagant preparations that take center stage over the fish.

Dad & I had a great dinner here last night! We started out with a little chit chat with the waiter, explaining that we were from out-of-town and asking if Dad could get the shrimp po-boy sandwich despite the fact that it was after 8pm and that item was only on the lunch menu. No problem. I read other reviews before coming, and we knew we had to try the clam chowdah. A large order of calamari and a sampler of 4 oysters rounded out our selections. The oysters were cold & fresh. Perfect way to start dinner! Next came the chowdah and we loved it! Some rather hard-crusted bread came about that time, and it was perfect to dip in the soup along side the crackers provided. The presentation of the po-boy sandwich was stunning, with the bright slices of red tomato each next to a bright white slice of onion. The shrimp in the sandwich were so lightly battered and absolutely perfect. We both agreed that these were the best shrimp we’d ever had.(And that’s saying something because we have a combined 50 years’ experience as Florida-based seafood lovers!) Our only criticism of the po-boy was the bread. It seemed like ciabatta. It tasted just fine, but WOW it was hard! We both ended up tossing the bottom because it was too hard and just ate it open-faced using the softer top half. A nice hoagie roll or softer sub roll would have been perfect. It came with a nice scoop of slaw and a very generous helping of tasty french fries. The calamari tasted wonderful. Very nice batter, and obviously very fresh. Cooked to tender perfection. Our only complaint here is that, for the $ 12 «large», the portion seemed pretty small. We enjoyed the décor and the restaurant’s set-up. All told, we really enjoyed it. So much so that we’d consider having lunch there today if we weren’t heading much further south.

Absolutely love this spot. From the outside, it looks like nothing special… incognito really. You would walk right by this place and never know it. You have to know it’s there. On the inside, it is also not very festive. Rather plain actually. But then comes the food and it blows you away! Everything from presentation, to taste, to service rivals that of a 5-star restaurant with the expensive décor. You must order the Ahi egg rolls! The fish tastes like it was caught an hour ago. Everything is so fresh. The staff is creative too. They might make you something special that is not on the menu if you ask nicely. Worth every penny!!!
