Gryphon Games & Comics

Great to have a game store around. They have a cool space with a café and perhaps game playing space around. I just popped in to pick up a game instead of buying it at Target.
I will admit that I was a bit disappointed with the number of board games that they have. Pandemic — there are 5+ different boxed sets/​expansions, but they seemed to only have a couple. Same for Forbidden Island/​Desert. Perhaps those are too commonplace for them to care about stocking. Anyways, that would be my one wish — the ability to walk in, perhaps ask for suggestions on a type of game and then have it in stock.

My son loves this place and the staff are super nice. What I love is that you can rent a board game for only 10% of the purchase price.

I’m not into the GAMES aspect of Gryphon Games & Comics, but I am always impressed with the turnout for their various gaming events at the shop. As other reviewers have emphasized, Gryphon doesn’t have the most «ideal» comic book situation. This isn’t the place to go to if you’re trying to track down back issues or anything like that, and if you’re lucky, they might have a newer issue of a book you’re into, and I wish this aspect was a little different about Gryphon.
There is a positive point to the comic book situation at Gryphon, despite my negative observations. What keeps me coming back to Gryphon for my comic book needs is their relationship with Comixology. I set up a Comixology pull-​list account online with all of my favorite titles, and every Wednesday when comics on my list are released, they’re waiting for me at Gryphon to pay for and take home. It’s convenient for someone with a crazy schedule, such as myself, who doesn’t necessarily have the time to search all over the place for the latest issue of my favorite books, and it’s easy to make changes to my pull list as well (if I suddenly stumble across a new series I want to get into, I don’t have to go anywhere, I can add it to my list instantly). I reserve trips to competing shops for when I am in search of back issues, a little something special, or to look into a new series that I am not necessarily sure of whether or not I want to commit to yet. In a way, it’s kind of nice that Gryphon isn’t a one-​stop-​shop for all of my comic book needs, as it forces me to change it up from time to time, but it’s a great little place to check out nevertheless. The staff is friendly, and helpful, and it is clear they take a lot of pride in Gryphon, so that is fantastic as well.

I recommend Haleys Comics over this place. Haleys is older and ran down but much greater selection and the guy who owns the place will pay attention to you and help you. The lady that just helped me at Gryphon was in her own world and made a mistake during checkout which cost me time to have to go back in and have her fix it. The place always had a nerd-​stink to it. It smells like body odor, pizza and virginity.

It’s an okay store though it’s not for someone who likes comics. It’s a hobby shop not a comic book store. They had a bad selection and the staff member didn’t know what I meant by Amazing Spider-​Man #200 through #300.
If you like MTG, Pokemon, or Role Playing go there, if you want comics go to Grand Slam in Loveland

This place is great. I’m a fan of the comics/​graphic novels selection, but the biggest part is the service I get here. Every time I’ve swung by, the folks working behind the counter are great and treat my daughter and I right.

Have a great selection of board and fantasy games as well as all the comics you could ever want. I go for the games. Best part is that can order just about anything of they don’t have it in stock. Little pricy BUT they have everything. Lastly is the awesome game night on Tuesday nights.

Gryphon is kind of tucked off the side of College downhill and behind the Raising Cane’s. It’s a cute little shop, but comic hunters may want to note that the store is called Gryphon GAMES & Comics for a reason. Games really come first. That being said, they do pick up the big name releases every week and are willing to order whatever you desire. On the plus side, the story is clean & the staff is kind.

Ive been shopping here for about 3 years now. The store has a really nice set up which is modern and clean, unlike some other locally owned businesses in Fort Collins. They hold a large assortment of table-​top, board, RPG and card games. The comic section is mostly current issues, plus they have an action figure section which I would like to see expanded. They also have a large backroom in which an assortment of events are held such as Magic, Pokemon, Heroclix and Warhammer. This kind of place just isnt found in many cities. I think we are lucky to have one in Fort Collins.

Awesome comic and game shop in Fort Collins, been shopping here for quite some time. The owners are really great people and are always willing to help and show you something new and cool. The gaming selection is good and their game space at the back of the store is really the best in northern Colorado. The amount of terrain they have for tabletop gaming is really stunning.

Gryphon Games is easily the best shopping experience in town for me. When I walk in I’m instantly greeted by at least one employee by name, they always take care of me, do great things in our community. I cannot recommend these guys enough. My pull-​list is always perfect, and when something is off, or missing, I have no doubt that they will take care of me. They have a huge selection of Monthlys, TPB’s, and tabletop games. Occasionally I send my wife in to grab my comics or a friend or family member will do some shopping there for me and they always get taken care of as well. Great store guys!

Nice comic and gaming store, with attached warehouse area to play MTG or whatever else you fancy playing. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. stop by and have some fun.

I love gryphon! I’ve lived by here forever but never got around to checking it out, once i found out about DC’s New 52 it was time to for me to setup a comic account.
They have a pretty awesome selection of comic books and carry all the most recent magic the gathering sets. However i haven’t seen any «fat packs» available for MTG which would be cool if they carried those. I haven’t attended any card tournament yet however i’m pretty sure almost every night of the week they have some sort of game going on there. Mondays and Fridays are MTG nights.
The staff is super nice too, They’ve been super helpful and kind whenever I’ve stopped in.
Anyways this store is awesome, if i had more money to spend here i totally would.

My son LOVES Pokemon and was very excited to go to Pokemon League here. I took him and one of his buddies the other Sunday and hung out while they did their thing. From what I could see all the people there were very friendly and helpfull (which can be difficult when dealing with a bunch of 9yr olds hopped up on sugar). I’ll definately be taking my son back there.

This place is not too bad to go shopping at. The store seems to be more geared towards role playing games instead of comic books but if you ask the staff they will probably order what you want. They have a nice selection of action figures too.
