BEWARE: If you happen to go see a punk rock band here between their hippie bullshit, be cautious. You might bump into a non-descript idiot claiming to be security in the pit. When you do he will tell you that you are kicked out. When you ask why, his idiotic sexually insecure cohort will grab you from behind and throw you on your head and elbow for no reason. I guess you could go here if you have a good lawyer and sue them for utter incompetence. These idiots have no business booking punk rock shows like MDC, and instead should book shows like Phish, that crowd is as rough as they can handle. MORONS!

Hodis half note is not the grand olé opry of Fort Collins. What Hodi’s offers is a great set up, a main stage and secondary stage. For performers this is a huge bonus and allows the venue to be incredibly versatility. I have been to several shows and preformed in a couple. I will say I am partial because this is the first place I came to do stand up comedy. The open mic night on Monday’s is one of Fort Collins best kept secrets. Anyone who is even slightly interested in getting into comedy performance should go and participate in the open mic. I am no comedic genius but I always have been welcomed to perform on that stage, and everyone else who has gone up will say the same thing. Hodi’s may be the very definition of a dive bar, but that is what makes it a destination in Fort Collins for performers and audiences.

The band that was playing was great. Everything else about this place was awful. The bartender was one of the rudest individuals I have EVER encountered. They don’t give free glasses of water — they literally tell you to drink out of the sink in the bathroom if you want water. That just seems like a bad idea for a bar that over-serves and a venue full of dancing people. They charge a cover and won’t give you free water. When I tried to PAY for water, the brat bartender asked me, «seriously, you want to pay for two bottles of water on your credit card?» Why else would I have handed her my card. After several other bratty comments she walked away from our group to flirt with some guys sitting at the bar and straight ignored other people trying to order drinks. The concert area was hot, smelly, and the air was thick and wet.

Good place for music. Very disappointed they do not carry non alcoholic beer at all. Charged $ 5 cover tried to order a NA beer and offered a soda instead. Told bar tender I would go somewhere else and didn’t even get my cover charge refunded. I was inside maybe 2 min. I would have spent probably a $ 100 in there and kept coming back but dout I will return to this venue.

Grungy dive bar with good music. Open mic comedy on Mondays, every so often you’ll get a regional or even national comedian up there to try out new stuff. Drinks are reasonable and the staff has always been courteous to me. Don’t behave like an entitled douche and you’ll be fine.

I’ve never been to a bar where they refused to serve paying customers water for free. I find this to be completely unacceptable, as well as a health hazard. I was told to go to the bathroom to get water from the faucet if I didn’t want to pay. The Bartender was also a total rude waste of life. I’ll continue going back for comedy and shows here and there, but that bartender will never get another cent from me.

Got invited to a free Monday night funk concert. Told 18+. Rode bike 3 miles to hodi’s. Told by Bob, the bouncer, there was a $ 5.00 cover charge for under 21. I’m 21 in a month… Pay. He then takes out a 1 inch sharpie and writes the LARGEST and FATEST X’s possible. I wasn’t happy. I Wait a couple of minutes for music, people were walking around with speakers. My hands were becoming itchy at this point. My friends I rode with were standing outside by the doorway.. I walked over to talk to them and stood in the door way. Bob looks at me as I walk to the door. I turn to walk back in and rejoin my other friend. Bob gets up and walks aggressively at me, arms crossed, spitting, «Can’t come in. No re entry!» I say, «can I speak to a manager?» «He simply looks and says«No. Get out or I’ll call the cops,» as he stands outside the bar yelling at me. People passing by we’re looking at the scene. I cut my losses and rode home alone. All before 11PM. SUMMARY Hodi’s stole $ 5.00 from me and embarrassed me in front of friends and strangers. I still haven’t managed to scrub the X’s from my hands. I work in an extremely professional setting and I’m worried that I will be forced to explain this situation many times. It may affect my reputation. Thank you, Bob. Many of my reputable friends also report many instances of extreme rude treatment by staff members. EDIT: FRIENDSREPORTEDAMATEUR/POOR BANDPERFORMANCE, WARM, FLATBEERANDCONTINUEDRUDENESS.

Great place to see local bands. Cool stage and surprisingly good sound despite the low ceiling. Bartenders have been fine in my experience.

I was at Hodi’s this past weekend for a show that was part of FoCoMx, a festival celebrating Northern Colorado bands. It’s your standard dive-y concert bar-dim, grungy, with floors sticky from beer, and gnarly looking bathrooms. I think there are some bars that have an odd sense of charm about them that comes along with that, but this wasn’t one of them. That wasn’t to say it was bad-the standing room in front of the stage was pretty spacious and, at least for the show I saw, wasn’t packed to the walls so there was room to move and dance, which makes me think they have a good capacity. The staff is friendly, though nothing amazing. Their beer selection is good and during the show they also offered a cash bar with cheap stuff(Coors, Bud, PBR). I can’t speak for hard stuff/mixed drinks because I stuck with beer. So overall… meh. I could take it or leave it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return, but if there’s a show here I want to see I might come back.

I totally agree with Jim S. below. My wife and I went dancing there and were treated like some 18 year olds trying to break the rules by the manager who literally ripped our drinks out of our hands. These folks are unstable and insanely aggressive. If you are looking to be treated like shit, then this is the place for you.

I have to disagree with Jim from Greeley’s Haiku of unhappiness. Went to Hodi’s on Friday night for a show, and am looking forward to going back! If you are looking for a good local music venue /hang out, Hodi’s might just be the place for you. It was $ 5 cover to see two good local bands. 3 jäger bombs and 2 or 3 beers ran about $ 25 — Awesome night out for $ 30, not bad. They have a large room with the main stage that is easy to see from most places in the room, a smaller bar room behind that with a few tables and chairs if you wanna chat with someone between sets and then a third room with a few pool tables. They also have a little patio area right out front if you need to grab some air. The staff was nice although a little slow behind the bar at times, the bathrooms were surprisingly clean and there was a good vibe all around.

Went to go see a few shows here. I’m not sure what it is about the place but you can feel the crowd around you. The floor seems to bounce a bit with the movement. The venue itself is a good size. Pretty big without losing the small club feel. They have 2 bars that aren’t priced bad. If there’s a show here that you’re interested in, buy your ticket now.
