The breakfast potatoes are amazing and the fresh squeezed OJ is the best I ever had. I lived in HI for a few years with access to seriously fresh juices and was blown away by how good it was at Lucille’s, I got some to go. This is the second time at a Lucille’s; we’ve previously eaten lunch at the location in Boulder. Breakfast was so good; fresh ham in the beans, and enormous, fluffy biscuits. Our waitress Shannon was great too. Wish there was a location in The Springs.

The Short Review: Pros + Unique and delicious + Great Service + Beautiful setting Cons — No weekend reservations I have ordered and can recommend: –Beignets(!!) –Chai –Eggs Sardou –Eggs Pontchartrain — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – The Longer Review SETTING Lucille’s is situated in a charming old house property just a few blocks south and west of downtown. The area has plenty of trees, there is a very nice outside waiting area, and sitting on the patio is a very relaxing experience. Inside the small size of the place is evident but is very charming. FOOD EXCELLENT. Lucille’s, purportedly a Cajun restaurant, has a variety of excellent items that you won’t find at a traditional breakfast joint. Most notably there is a plethora of seafood items. I have personally had the Eggs Sardou(shrimp in hollandaise) and Eggs Pontchartrain(Trout). In either case the poached eggs are some of the best I’ve ever had; fluffy whites and perfectly runny yolk. The trout was more plain but clearly fresh and expertly prepared. Everything was delicious. Additionally, each breakfast entrée comes with an outstanding large biscuit of the fluffier and slightly salty variety and each table has delicious jam to go with it Finally we get to the often-hyped Beignets. I can say that Lucille’s Beignets absolutely deserve their stellar reputation! Served piping hot with powdered sugar, the Beignets captured the attention of my friends and I even more than the entrees. SERVICE Also excellent. The staff are very charming, helpful, accommodating, and clearly enjoy their work. Depending on your luck and what time you go(and whether you demand patio seating), you could be in for a wait and they don’t take reservations. It’s better to go in smaller groups. That is the only criticism I have and by NO means should it discourage you from trying this place. I’ve been to Lucille’s twice; it’s now my favorite breakfast spot in FoCo!

Let me start off by saying yum. Where have you walked into a restaurant and been greeted by a warm beignet with napkins home-crafted. Each one is different and unique… Just like the food! Although I get a different taste in the meal I get every time, I always have a great experience. I recommend the beignet to start and the eggs, because who doesn’t love a meal in a little yellow happy house in Louisiana? I know I do, and you will too. Make sure to get there a bit early though, because along with good food comes a lot of people and slow service. Usually about 9:30 is when they spark up. So enjoy!

Singly the best breakfast/brunch in town. You’ve got a wait ahead of you because it’s a limited seating area, but to this point, never received anything but stellar food, service, and overall value. It’s worth every second to wait for. Period.

The best breakfast joint EVER(at which I’ve dined). Great for a weekday breakfast, because it’s not so packed and not a long wait. On the weekend, plan to wait more than an hour for even a table of two. I assure you, it’s worth it. The food is amazing and comes in second only to the grade-a service. Don’t leave without purchasing a jar of the strawberry rhubarb jam to take home. I always order Hank’s Eggs, but you really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu(pay special attention to the daily’s, because that’s where the magic is). If I’m playing devil’s advocate, there’s one downfall(aside from the obvious — long wait); that’s the overly crowded space. Regardless of where you’re seated in the restaurant, you’re never more than an elbow’s length away from the next table. A small price to pay for delicious food and great service.

Lucile’s never disappoints. It’s so delicious every time. To me, it’s the most flawless restaurant in all of Fort Collins.

Outstanding Sunday brunch in a very very busy little place with authentic Cajun-style Nawlins food. We had to wait thirty minutes for a table but it was OK as the neighbourhood is good for a stroll and we had a terrific patio table. The restaurant was absolutely heaving with clientele, which is very good sign. They customized our egg dishes upon request without batting an eyelash, and without surcharge — another good sign, and one major reason why the place is so popular with locals. Unique omelettes and poached eggs, nice bottomless coffee, excellent collard greens, absolutely super service. I highly recommend this unique restaurant.

Love this place and is always where I take my out of town guests and no one ever has anything negative to say about it(maybe except for the wait sometimes to get a table). Once you’ve had their beignets, no other place compares. Love all the different types of jams and marmalades they offer. The ambience and décor is great and on cue for Louisiana, it even has that spice smell when you walk in from the tea they sell. Haven’t tried anything on the menu that I disliked. Their gumbo is good and so are all their breakfast items. I enjoyed the catfish sandwich it had a unique sauce that I’ve never had before.

Lucille’s was a fantastic breakfast/brunch experience. Went there by myself on a trip to Ft. Collins, found it thankfully through Unilocal.I was able to sit at the bar(more like a kitchen counter top), while the place was completely packed very early on a Sunday morning. Cajun breakfast cuisine is what I would have for myself every morning if I could. You really cant go wrong here in terms of what you order. They have a serious operation, and all the servers seemed to be working nonstop. Their biscuits and homemade jam was fantastic, and they had some excellent breakfast specials. A must try when you are in the Ft. Collins area. I would recommend Lucille’s before heading on some brewery tours, or any time in the morning to start your day. Made me wish we had such a place where I live. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Yup, it’s legit. It may, in fact, be too legit to quit. But regardless, stop what you’re doing and get to Lucile’s as soon as you can. This quaint house on the outskirts of Old Town will literally transport you all the way to New Orleans, and costs a fraction of the plane ticket. The wait seems ridiculous(sometimes you can sit in limbo for over an hour), but it’s worth it. Just grab yourself a Café Au Lait and settle in on their spacious front porch, because what I can only describe as heaven awaits you. Get yourself a biscuit for the table and lather it in housemade jam while you wait for your plates. As for what to order, you can’t go wrong. If there’s a special, get it, no questions asked. They are not known for flopping on any of their dishes, and if they’ve got something special, you want it. But if you’ve happened in on a day that they’re just offering the regular menu, never fear. Every option on that menu is delicious, well-plated, and cooked to perfection, with so many items made from scratch and grown at Lucile’s own farm. Word to the wise, if you’re in town for the weekend, you should hit up Snooze on Saturday and finish with a finale at Lucile’s on Sunday. Don’t ruin Snooze with a visit to Lucile’s first, you’ll just be disappointed. And please, for the love of all that is good in this world, don’t take that beignets to go, they are meant to be devoured while they’re still warm and crispy — don’t be that guy.

What a gem! My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch on a whim and were very pleasantly surprised! We both ordered a coffee and biegnets while we took a look at the menu. Both were delicious and the beignets were HUGE(Tip: Try them with some of the homemade jams on the table!) We had only gotten through one each when the waittress brought out the biscuits and gravy. I’m usually not a big fan of B&G but oh my goodness did I fall in love with these. I hadn’t even finished them by the time our main dish came out… and I was already getting full! We had to put leftover biegnets and biscuits in a to-go box to make room for our entrée plates! I ordered the Cajun Breakfast and my boyfriend ordered Hank’s Eggs. Oh my goodness… The potatoes were to die for and the hollandaise sauce was beautiful on the perfectly poached eggs. The beans were a little bland but they have a homemade hot sauce that compliments them beutifully. My boyfriend loved his dish and from the bites I stole off his plate, I did too! Overall I am very pleased. The waittress was very sweet and accomidating, the service was very fast, and the food was delightful. I can’t believe the amount of food that we got for the price. My only complaint is that the table was too small to hold it all!

Hands down the best breakfast ever. I’ve had several photoshoots out there in Colorado and do whatever it takes to get to Lucile’s for basically anything on the menu. A couple years ago I was here for several days and ate there every morning. The biscuits and gravy will blow your mind, to the point of hating the fact that nobody makes it this good anywhere. You won’t want to eat biscuits and gravy anywhere else unless you need a good cry. I honestly think of this place every weekend to the point where I’m close to moving there.(For the mountains as well). In a perfect world I’d want them to open a location up I the mountains. Seriously, try anything on the menu. But if you aren’t getting biscuits and gravy, at least get a small order of em.

Oh Lucile’s, I love you oh so much. I order and you bring me a delicious biscuit that I can cover in a number of house-made jams. You always keep my glass of tea or coffee hot and full. When my breakfast shows up, I’m always convinced it’s too much food for me, but I power through thanks to your homemade ketchup and hot sauce. I hear the beignets are divine, but I’ve yet to try them — I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. You can enjoy a great variety at breakfast here as a vegetarian and I’ve always appreciated that. There’s a reason Lucile’s is always busy in the morning, and you should absolutely poke your head in to find out why.

Biscuit. Yes, biscuit. Those biscuits are made out of flour, clouds, and pure joy. I have no idea how they take such a simple carb delivery vehicle and turn it into something so magical. That is one of the things that make Lucile’s the best of the best. Nothing they make is not delicious. They’re sure to put lots of love into every detail of every dish. You want coffee? Chicory coffee! You want hot sauce? We have our own and it’s incredible! Beignets? Hot and delicate, right out of the fryer. You want grits? SUPERGRITS!!! That’s not really a thing, but you get what I’m sayin’. Now be sure to keep some of that biscuit around for the main dish. Eggs are a thing here. Whether poached, fried, or whipped into hollandaise, they’re always made with care. Whether you like savory, spicy, or sweet and light, their sauces deliver. I don’t have very specific things to say about each dish. It’s all good. I’m not sure if they take reservations, but it would be a good idea on a weekend. If you go on a cold day, try to get a seat far from the door.

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 5 Likelihood 4 1 – 5(5 Best!) 4.3 I rarely give out 5’s for food. I have nothing but praise and love for what comes out of their kitchen. Such attention to detail, I love it. My omelette was not centered loaded with the ingredients, it was full and good. Thank you. The Beignet’s were incredible(I could only have one, my friends had two each. Ok, one had three… LOL) It is a cozy, small little dining room with incredible flavors, good service, and it IS a must do when we return to Ft. Collins. PS: The biscuit, OHHECKYES! LOL

Aw, man, this place is SO good! I love trying places with unique offerings, and Lucile’s did not disappoint me one bit! I ordered Eggs Ponchartrain, and I loved every part of it. The trout was flaky, the potatoes were nicely seasoned(try the homemade ketchup), the grits had the right consistency, and the biscuits… oh, the biscuits. They have this strawberry rhubarb jam you have to try. I’ve got a few things in mind to try the next time I come here. I’m looking forward to it!

What a cute restaurant! This is an older house converted into a restaurant! I read the reviews and was really excited to come here. It was Sunday and 4th of July week-end, so I figured it was going to be packed. When we parked, we saw a line out the door and the patio area packed. Thinking there would be a hefty wait, we decided to try anyways. Luckily, they seated us right away and on the patio area! Service was fast! We started with beignets and biscuits with jam. This was my first time trying a beignets, and it was delicious! I was good with one. Not sure if typical beignets come loaded with a pound of powdered sugar? The biscuits were HUGE! You have your choice of strawberry tart jam, blueberry jam, and/or apple butter jam. All 3 were good! I had to save room for my real breakfast, so I couldn’t eat the whole biscuit. I ordered the cajun breakfast. Very hearty meal! The cajun breakfast includes 2 poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, pinto beans, grits, and home fries. I highly recommend this. This is not your typical bacon and egg breakfast for sure! Cute homey cozy atmosphere and fast and friendly staff. I recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
