I was visiting Fort Collins from California and really wanted to get a tattoo. I checked out a few shops and this is by far the best! The people were so friendly and helpful. The shop was clean and also had amazing paintings displayed inside. Such a cute shop with a great feel. Next time I’m in foco I will be coming back!

Magnetic is honestly a world-​class tattoo shop. I have seen a lot of mediocre work from a lot of local shops, but this is not one of them. All of the artists are very talented and really care about the work they do, no half-​stepping over here. I received a beautiful semi-​traditional moth tattoo from Makile (pronounced like ma-​Kyle for when you call to request him) and could not have been happier with the experience. I emailed the shop with some pretty specific ideas about what I would like my tattoo to look like (I’ve learned to be picky — its on you forever!) and he was entirely accommodating. He incorporated all my ideas and was super nice about my request to re-​size it several times to fit in nicely with other work I already have. He took his time laying out supplies and keeping everything super clean and tidy while he worked. When the time came to actually get stabbed with a needle several thousand times in a row, he worked quickly and efficiently, keeping suffering to a minimum.
As for the tattoo itself — it turned out better than I had pictured. The lines are smooth and bold, the shading is dark, and the color pops. Beautiful attention to detail! I will also mention that the price was below what I expected to pay, but that was just a bonus.
Makile is going to be my go-​to guy from now on, ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would absolutely recommend. The dude just knows what he is doing and does it well and with confidence. Zero complaints, and this is coming from a skilled complainer.

Where do I begin with magnetic tattoo. This shop has nestled itself into a piece of my heart and tattooing experience that I have never thought twice about giving up. My experience with magnetic began with Matt Evans, a truly talented, personal, professional man. In fact, over half of my tattoos are pieces by Matt. Since then, I have also had the pleasure of working with Katherine Smith, yet another gem in the magnetic family as well as Matte, the apprentice. Business wise, the shop is ran professionally and maintains the highest hygienic standards. As a staff, each and every artist has a personality that is nothing short of fantastic, attractive, and incredible. I have been fortunate enough to work with a handful of the artists, develop friendships with others, and have been blessed with the opportunity of working with Magnetic. I refer every single one of my friends and loved ones to the Magnetic family, and you would be an absolute idiot not to make this shop your first choice for professional, personal tattoos and piercings.

My experiences at Magnetic have always been great! I’ve been there several times for tattoos and piercings since they’ve opened and all of the artists are extremely talented! The owner has created a fun yet professional environment. They even put on art shows once a month to support local artists. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve spent years in different tattoo shops and I’ve never found one that compares to Magnetic! Every artist and piercer that work there are unique and extremely talented. Katherine has been tattooing me over the last year and I couldn’t be happier! Matt has pierced me and is incredible! I’m so excited to have Shawn start my back on Saturday and be able to wear his amazing work for the rest of my life. I’m so happy I’ve found this shop and am able to call everyone that works there a friend! Best shop in town!

Definitely my favorite shop in town especially for traditional and neotraditional tattoos. I have gotten a lot of tattoos by Katherinne Smith and she is an amazing artist and person. Matt Evans, Makile, and Shawn all have great flash and would like to get tattooed by all of them in near the future. Their piecer Matt Phillips is awesome as well. Got my septum pierced by him and he did an amazing job. Only teared up a little! AND the shop throws great art shows around once a month! Love the shop and the people in it!

I’m a regular customer at Magnetic! I am a tattoo collector with over 30 tattoos and I have more tattoos from Shawn McDonald than any other artist! After Shawn I have several from Katherine Smith. Both artists are top notch in their field as are all the artists at this shop. I personally have even won trips and awards for some of Shawn’s work and constantly get compliments on the work I have from the artists in this shop! Their art gallery space is also beautiful and the entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Being someone that is in this shop 6 – 7 times a month, I have come to know all of these artists very well. Each and every single one of them upholds a very professional demeanor when working with you whether it be about a tattoo or piercing, and would never offer up a personal trade (unless its art for art) as a means of business. These artists take their jobs seriously and want to give you the best possible tattoo or service they can. I recommend all of my friends and anyone who comments on my tattoos to this shop, for obvious reasons if you’ve ever looked at any one of them and the art they put out. It really bums me out to see people trying to take away the hard work these guys and gals have put into maintaining a proper business. This is a badass shop with great group of artists in it.

My mom and I came in last minute to get tattoos we’d been planning on getting for years, and I only had the one day in town to get it done. Makile was awesome, he drew up exactly what we wanted and was super efficient. Great, clean lines and incredible talent, seriously super impressive for how quick it was.

I know for some classy and posh aren’t words associated with tattoo studios, but Magnetic is both. A huge open gallery space for local artists greets you first thing. This studio is large and breezy.
More importantly, the artists at Magnetic are the most talented collection of folks I’ve encountered. Whether you already have ink or are looking for you’re first, this is the place to visit.
