Res-ka is as close to heaven as a restaurant could ever hope to be. It is so beautifully cozy and relaxing inside, the perfect atmosphere. The owner is a true earth angel and she makes healthy beautiful food that tastes filled with love. I always walk out of here with a sublimely happy belly. I’ve taken two different people here and they both loved it as much as I. We all agreed it was the best restaurant in Fort Collins. I would definitely try every single vegan dish(weather you are vegan or not) as they are all amazing. I cannot fathom that people have written bad reviews for this place — they must just be those off their rocker crazy reviewers. Anyone with half a tastebud and a scrap of heart would be so happy to eat at Ras-ka. I’m just sad I can’t go here more often as my work hours often conflict.

We stopped in on a Friday night for dinner. It appeared that they were short of help. After waiting a while, a patron sitting new to us asked what we wanted, took our orders to the cook, helped other patrons pay their bills, and bussed a couple of tables. He said he was a regular and was just pitching in to help. After our food came, we could see why he was such a loyal customer. First, the food was incredible. Our lentil dish was delicious, our chickpea dish was to die for. And the owner was the nicest lady, one of those hardworking, down-to-earth people you root for and want to be around. We will be back as soon as possible.

Amazing owner, authentic & delicious food. That’s pretty much all you need to know because this place is great. Really nice atmosphere and a comfortable restaurant. Definitely try this place if you’re looking for good Ethiopian in Fort Collins.

I was excited to eat here as I had read a lot of good things about the food and friendly atmosphere. I’m sad to not be able to post a glowing review like some others have. The place is small but nicely decorated. Seating is pretty limited and not very comfortable but was okay. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the owner stopped by to say hi and seemed very friendly. The menus were just sheets of paper that had been run through a printer which would have been fine but they were dogeared and had smears and splatters of food and dirty fingerprints on them — pretty unappetizing and made you wonder how well other things are cleaned/maintained if that is the condition of the menus which is not something you want to be wondering where food is being prepared. It was nice that they had vegetarian and vegan options available. Food is made to order and takes a long time, so this is definitely not the place to pop into on your way to a movie or something. I don’t mind waiting for freshly prepared, high quality food. The food was served luke warm. Everyone at our table felt the portions were skimpy for the wait and price. Each person got one little piece of injera, rice and a generic side salad that was plated next to the roll of injera in such a way that more than half of the plate was taken up with those items. The portion size of the entrée was pretty small. Sadly, no one at our table was very impressed with their food. One entrée(mushrooms) looked like it had literally been burned to a crisp with a blowtorch and had no visible sauce. As I said, the service itself was fine — they were friendly. It was the other things(filthy menus, cramped dining area, long wait, skimpy portions for price, food that was okay but not anything we’d seek out) that made it a not so impressive experience. I really wanted to love this place! :-/

Food was really good but you got to have a lot of patience to wait. It took almost 45min from the time we ordered. I think it’s worth it. And don’t hesitate to ask for extra injera even if you get in your entrée.

I hate doing this because the owner is the nicest lady ever, but I’ve had better ethiopian food. Come here for the hospitality and vibe, not the flavor.

My expectations for Ethiopian food are probably abnormally high, coming from Washington, DC, where the metro area boasts the highest Ethiopian population in the world, outside of Ethiopia — and many wonderful Ethiopian restaurants. Still, Ras-Ka fell WAY short on food, but made up a bit by the owner’s general friendliness and warmth. Not sure if I will give it another go again, but in the meantime, I would love to find a better option, locally.

This is handcrafted food at its finest. Whoever said vegetables/vegan food is boring never had good Ethiopian food. The soulful entrees at Ras-Ka are spiced to perfection. We finished every single morsel on our plates. African tea, sambosas, entrees of eggplant, mushrooms, and fried plantains had us walking out of the restaurant with smiling faces and full spirits. Thank you, Ras-Ka for bringing a great authentic Ethiopian food to Fort Collins!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately there were several minor issues that added up to a kind of «meh» experience. First, their menus are just printed on plain copy paper. Not a big deal, but they were all wrinkled and bore the signs of many meals past. Service was good and friendly, and the décor is nice. The food was only passable. I ha some egg(firfir) dish, and was wholly unimpressed. The wife had mushrooms, and they appeared to have been set on fire and then blown out. They were weird — we’ve had the mushrooms at other Ethiopian restaurants, and they were nothing like this. They were sort of charbroiled. Kinda stingy on the injera, too, one little piece per person. I’ll stick with Nyala in The Fort when I’m craving Ethiopian food.

I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere; owners are warm and friendly. I’m not expert on Ethiopian food but it was tasty and had some kick.

I heard great things about this place and was excited about it. I was seated and then ignored. It wasn’t even busy. Super bummed out.

For starters, the owner is one of the nicest ladies you will ever meet. The food was fantastic. The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The chicken was so good that we bought two jars of that amazing Raska sauce. She roasted the coffee beans while we were there and ground them and we shared a french press of the freshest coffee I’ve had in my life. I would recommend this place to anyone. And side note, check out the bathroom. I want that sink.

Great place to get Ethiopian food. Prices are nice and the owner and staff are wonderful! I love how small it is on the inside. The food was delicious and the owner told us she gets her meat local from boulder and the chicken is free range. For only 10 dollars a plate, you will leave feeling full and impressed.
