Simply put, there is NOWHERE better in Fort Collins for quality, made-from-scratch baked goods and excellent coffees, teas, etc, let alone AMBIANCE! The Little Bird Bakeshop is such a welcome reprieve from the endless loud college bars, restaurants, etc. This place exudes charm, character and will remind you of tea shops and bakeries in the UK and such. Centrally located in downtown Old Town Fort Collins, it is the perfect place to start your day, catch up with a friend, and enjoy, say, the BEST croissants in town, like their divine chocolate filled variety. Other baked goodness includes authentic scones(not caked in sugar like you will find elsewhere) served with homemade compotes, fresh quiches, incredible fluffy savory cheese biscuits, Bostock, financiers, homemade oatmeal and granola, muffins, cookies, and so on – Pretty much everything you’d expect from an independently owned bakery. With that said, a few caveats: This is not a Great Harvest Bread Co or any other kind of franchise. While they used to bake and serve bread loafs, they no longer do due to the fact that their other items sell better and set them apart from any(non existent!) competition. Rather, the Little Bird Bakeshop is a place to sit down and enjoy the casual, refined quieter atmosphere, taking a break as you enter into a world filled with that inviting aroma and beautiful food made and displayed fresh daily. The owners pride themselves on sourcing locally for all their raw ingredients.(Even the honey comes from beehives in Fort Collins!) While they are not a coffee shop, per se, they offer the best lattes and cappuccino’s in Northern Colorado imho! Excellent French Press coffee varieties too. Being a fairly small shop, they can get quickly crowded though on weekend mornings so be sure to come early. like, when they first open! If it gets swamped, there can be the occasional time you will have to wait longer but, believe me, any wait will always be well worth it! You just aren’t going to find another establishment like this scratch bakery anywhere else… even remotely close! Another side note is that you won’t find people hogging up an entire table just to use their own laptop. There is no internet and tables are meant to be social so you can feel free to share with someone else if needed but usually you will be fine finding a place to sit. There is also seating outside with cute little colorful tables and chairs which can be great for people-watching in downtown. Not to be forgotten, this bakery also offers delicious homemade soups that change out daily, served with hearty chunk of fresh baked, seasoned focaccia bread. Try their Ricotta cheese on toast with salmon for something refreshing in the warmer months. Also, they are the only place in town that makes CAMBRIC teas the right(and best) way: tea with steamed milk only! –not diluted with water like you might get with a tea latte at Starbucks or elsewhere. While I don’t normally like Earl Grey Tea, their Earl Grey Cambric is silky smooth and sublime. Check out their Facebook to get an idea of the kind of offerings you will find there. Am I a fan? Of course! In fact, you will find that this bakery has a very loyal following where many of us have come to know each other, frequenting it weekly(the ONLY place we do that). As noted earlier, The Little Bird bakeshop is truly the best place in town!

Came after seeing that they have a ‘chocolate croissant’ bread pudding. I got a mocha and that bread pudding, both were good. The larger size of the mocha is unnecessarily huge, so I wish I had gotten the smaller one. I’m not sure the bread pudding seems very ‘chocolate croissant-y’ and it was a bit drier than I normally like my bread pudding so I added milk. Still very good, but I think I would have gone for a brioche out another baker item next time. Very nice vibe. I recommend it.

Little Bird is a gem of Old Town Fort Collins. Hand-made, fresh, inventive baked goods, high-end, craft coffee, espresso, and interesting non-coffee beverages. I have frequented this shop for years, and they are always busy, exceedingly polite, and continue to impress me with their evolving offerings, excellent customer service, and seasonal goodies. Keep in mind they are closed on Mondays, as is customary in culinary establishments. Also expect an artisan espresso drink to take more than 5 minutes. This is definitely not cookie-cutter or Starbucks! Check them out and try something new. Thanks, Little Bird, for offering a distinctive Fort Collins experience!

This bakeshop is wonderful, staff is wonderful, location is wonderful and products are wonderful. Did I say wonderful enough?! To start with, I recently visited the area and my family was working, so I had one day to myself and decided,(smartly so), to start it with a visit to The Little Bird Bakeshop. Although, there was a longish line, it did not take long that it was my turn. I ordered for the first time since childhood a ‘B’ apple cider, warmed(yum), with a slice of flourless decadent chocolate torte, granola with yogurt and a simply had to try the chocolate covered lavender truffle lollipop cake,(which I saved for later). The granola, so fresh, good amount of fruit and yogurt went really well with the warm cider. Then, oh, the flourless torte, oh my, how lovely it was. I highly recommend this bakeshop, as you will be glad you stopped!

i don’t like to review places outside of where i live because i won’t have the opportunity to revisit more than once. however, i can say with confidence that they make the best croissants of all that i’ve tried thus far in the united states their coffee though, is not my favorite. for that, i go to harbinger.

One of the best cafés in town! Right in the heart of the square, this charming place has one of the best coffees in town and pastries that make you come back for more. Friendly service and comfortable seating.

I came in for the first time this afternoon. What a charming place. Everything is made fresh from scratch including the food, and even the syrups for the coffees. The quality of drinks(the coffee is delicious) and pastries is high and the service is super friendly. There isn’t a ton of seating but it is welcoming and comfortable. I’m happy to find this gem of a coffee shop as an alternative to the chain coffee places. The only downside is that they have limited hours(7AM-3PM) but they’re definitely worth stopping by if you need a coffee or pastry fix.

Hands down the best mocha in Fort Collins. My husband and I had been on a quest to find the best espresso in Loveland and Fort Collins. I think we hit just about everywhere at least 2 times and we both agreed that little bird has THE best around. Not only that but they are located right in the square and have amazing home made pastries! My only negative would be there is hardly ever free seats(not their fault they are amazing!) and they have unusual hours… Definitely pick this place when you are in town! You won’t be disappointed!

One of the classics from Old Town, Little Bird has always made a lasting impression on me since my first visit on a snowy Colorado day. Little Bird is a quaint bakery and café offering some of the best that Fort Collins has to offer. The people are always so friendly and it has a quiet and relaxing homey feel. It reminds me of some of the small café/bakeries in rural Norfolk, England that I grew up with. They bake their treats fresh daily. I’ve had a chocolate croissant, and a bostock(a must try) both of which were delightful. Their coffee is artisan and delicious from Boulder’s own Boxcar Coffee. I have yet to try their soup but I hear great things! The only caveat is that it is a little pricey, but honestly I’m willing to pay the extra bit for the quality and care that they put into their coffee and pastries.

Little Bird offers up delicious coffee and baked goods. They don’t have a ton of tables, so it makes it a little bit tricky as a study spot, but perfect to drop in and grab a great cup of coffee and a pastry.

Stopped here on road trip from SF Bay Area for breakfast and coffee on the go. Very cute and friendly place. Service was amazing. Ppl actually smiled at you. The pastries are in same class as Tartine in SF. I think everything was baked in house. Croissants were flaky and buttery, brownie was amazing… the best was their brioche covered in orange syrup and almonds. their mocha was perfect balance between chocolate and coffee. Not too sweet, very chocolatety, and strong coffee flavor. I savored every buttery bite.

Honestly, this may be the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. You know those«specialty coffees» that are made from coffee beans that haven’t been completely digested by some sort of marsupial? This Coffee may be from a marsupial only they didn’t wash the beans very well after it had been partially digested, if you catch my drift. I attempted to order an iced coffee with a shot of espresso… Also known as a «red eye». I was informed that I could not order that drink as it would«ruin the flavor of the coffee». Really? I can’t imagine how it could be worse. Do yourself a favor. Skip this place if you’re looking for a cup of coffee.

Adorable little café & bakery located in the heart of the Old Town Fort Collins. I’ve been coming here since they opened a few years ago and they never disappoint! My family has ordered delicious birthday cakes with buttercream frosting or popped into the shop after a bike ride. All of the pastries are EXCELLENT. I don’t think I’ve had anything I didn’t like. The coffee is great too! I would say the only downside is that there isn’t wifi(it would make a great study/work spot) and the seating is limited. If you’re in the area, make sure you check this place out!

All the good stuff from my previous review still stands, but today I waited for an americano for fifteen minutes after I ordered it. There were a few orders ahead of mine, but they weren’t that busy.

Little Bird is my favorite place to take visitors or out-of-town guests. I think it’s the perfect representation of all things Fort Collins: high quality, community-oriented, and a little quirky. The wait staff has always been friendly and willing to answer my endless questions about their baked goods. To the reviewers who complain that they are«snobs” – it doesn’t seem fair to go to a place that prides themselves on quality coffee, and then make fun of them for caring and knowing a lot about their trade. I’ve seen them chat with customers about their brewing process, and I’ve also seen them accommodate people who request«something Starbucks-y»(ok, so that person was me, and the drink was delicious). Their pastries are phenomenal – I’ve taken a selection of them to a few brunches, and they are always a hit. Their caramel latte is to die for(they make their own caramel sauce!). Lately they have cut back their hours of operation and stopped making bread – I’m a little worried that maybe they aren’t doing so well? Please go check this place out, because if it closes down I’ll never be happy again.

Little Bird is very cute and has good coffee from Boxcar. I like their giant lattes and their baked goods are okay, too. I got a coissant and it was pretty good. My wife got a sandwich cookie which she liked. There are lots of cute little birds everywhere, in keeping with the store theme. It’s a cool place to hang out but has very limited seating.

Probably the best bread and pastries in town, and they often have unusual treats like berry and goat cheese panna cotta. Expect it to be busy on weekends, and get there early to get the best pastries! The atmosphere is relaxed, with fun, mismatched furniture and bar seating. Families are welcome.

Best espresso drinks I can find in FoCo. Boxcar Roaster beans, latte art, and homemade syrups. Incredible baked goods to accompany your morning joe. I had a colleague visit from Missouri to work locally — took him to The Little Bird. It made such an impression on him he actually advised his daughter to have her honeymoon in Northern Colorado and visit The Little Bird every morning. Essentially build the trip around the bakery, the Bike Library, and Old Town.
