I found these guys at the taste of ft collins, very friendly. I visited their store today and collected on the sampler. The lobster bisque is amazing, the etouffe is just as good. A big fan of gumbo, I decided to order a mix of the chicken and seafood gumbo. Delicious. Each individual in the place was very friendly. Best cajun.

As southern as it gets. It’s home away from home and the owners are awesome. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. A must go if you’re I town.

My boyfriend and I had never eaten here before and tonight decided to order to go. I got the shrimp platter, he got the cajun pasta, and we got hush puppies and beignets to share. My shrimp platter was missing the coleslaw, the fries were soggy, and the shrimp was overcooked, flavorless, and not properly deveined. The pasta was also flavorless, dry, and missing the garlic bread. Our hush puppies were almost burnt. We order to go a lot and have found that some restaurants put less effort and care into those orders. I definitely think this is one of those restaurants. Everything felt thrown together without thought. We spent close to $ 50 and were both left severely disappointed and almost angry. I doubt we will give this place another shot.

I’ve really been wanting to try this place out, especially the crawfish boil. Unfortunately, though I wasn’t able to try the crawfish, I did have a chance to stop by for dinner. It’s located kitty corner to Lucile’s which is kind of funny, but I guess it’s okay to have the two Cajun type restaurants next to each other since one is more brunch and the other more lunch/dinner. They started out by giving us a little mini tasting sampler platter which was really nice since I was able to get a taste of all their major food items. I really liked the lobster bisque and the beans/rice thing the most, so I ordered a lobster bisque and a side of fried okra and catfish for me and my friend to share. Overall I thought the food was pretty good, but I’m not from Louisiana. I would probably return again, though I don’t think it’s somewhere I’d necessarily go regularly. But I would like to try their beignets and their crawfish boil.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Love this place and we will definitely be back. They have a free sampler that proves how delicious everything is. Good atmosphere too.

We went downtown to the Lost Cajun for the last crawfish boil of the season. This was our first time at the resrurant. We were plesently surprised. Before the crawfish arrived, they brought out a sampler with several of their menu items. The gumbo was awesome! All of the food had just the right amount of kick. I like spicy food but not over the top spice. Theirs was just right. The crawfish was excellent as well. They also had a nice selection of microbrews to choose from. That is important to me. The staff was accommodating, and the owners were very friendly. All in all, this was an excellent dining experience.

I was just in the French Quarter and one would have to look long and hard for Cajun this good. Meets and beats all my expectations.

This place is located right across from the Lincoln Center, so it’s convienient if you’re having a night out. But it isn’t that good. The ambience is OK — the usual alligator/bearded backwood guy motifs. But the flavors are lacking. It’s like Cajun food for people with acid reflux — you want blackened, spicy food but your body can’t handle it. In that case, «Lost Cajun» might be a good name for it. Service was earnest, but mistake-filled. Food took about 35 minutes to come out. Not that my advice has been asked for but — don’t be so stingy with the spices!

Southern hospitality at its finest! When we told them we had never been in before, they brought us samples of 6 of their dishes. Our faves were lobster bisque and crawfish étouffée which we ended up ordering along with hushpuppies. It was delicious! They serve local beers along with Abita beer and some southern cocktails. Fridays and Saturdays you can order a pound of crawfish! Loved the atmosphere and friendly service. It is also easier to find parking because it is a couple blocks off of College, but I would walk 10 blocks to get to this little gem!

Lost Cajun = cajun version of Applebee’s. Few vegetarian options. Food is chain restaurant quality.

Sample of gumbos they give you is helpful in selecting. I was planning on getting crawfish étouffée but decided I did not care for their version after tasting. His puppy’s are good but should be included in the meal. Ordered seafood platter and shrimp platter — nothing special — pretty average. Benoit desert was good. Meal for 2 about $ 50 is about right for the quality of the food. Service as friendly. Guess I should not be surprised at average quality of Cajun food so far away from newaulins.

Great food, great service, great prices, a great time. Very grateful a fun, unique Cajun experience is here in town! The owners came by 3 or 4 times throughout our meal to check how we were doing and ask if they could make our experience better. Great people, I wish them nothing but the best! We brought a group of 20 people! It’s not always easy for us to pick a place to eat as a group but they were very accommodating and we had a great time! We will be back!

Great service and I recommend the catfish, because it is just amazeballs. I feel like all the gumbos and the étouffée are pretty good. Not amazing, but completely solid. You should come for the chill atmosphere, fun drink menu, truly delightful staff and reasonable prices. And the fried catfish. That’s what I’m here for ;)

The food was really good. I had a cup of chicken gumbo and a fried chicken po’boy and my fiancée had a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo and the voodoo pasta. The chicken gumbo was really good, but the po’boy wasn’t anything special. He said that the gumbo was great but the voodoo pasta was bland. We shared some beignets and they were good. The tasting board is a great idea. Overall the price was well more than I thought the food was worth.

Voodoo pasta. Having experienced that amazing entrée at Breckenridge I was excited to try this out here in Fort Collins. However, it severely lacked flavor. Alfredo lacked Parmesan flavor. Cajun spices were barely present. In all, it tasted like crème and water. Hoping that this was a fluke, I will try this again, but I am not expecting much at this point.

Great atmosphere but the food is a little mixed. I saw a lot of people ordering the jambalaya which is preprepared but give the catfish a try because it’s done to perfection. They went a little fry heavy with the hush puppies and the shrimp, fried to death. I am hoping that they go a fresher healthier menu that really embodies New Orleans. Prices are great and the fact that you could order things individually is awesome good start guys.

There are kid friendly places that no adult would want to go to, and then there are places you don’t expect to be kid friendly that actually are … The Lost Cajun happens to fall in that latter category, and they truly go above and beyond. I came here with a friend and her 3-year old daughter for a late lunch. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us – all of us – paying particular attention to the toddler, talking to her, not talking down to her. Little coloring pages and crayons were made available, and little E. got to pick her favorite color beads(I’m not sure if that’s a Mardi Gras thing or an everyday thing, but I’m pretty sure E. wants to come back to collect more colors). As others have mentioned, if this is your first visit they’ll bring out a sampler tray with 6 popular items — jambalaya, seafood gumbo, chicken & sausage gumbo, red beans & rice, lobster bisque, and crayfish etoufee. Luckily my friend and I did get a chance to taste them all before E. realized that the samples looked like toddler-sized servings of soup. I thought everything had good flavors, if not quite as much heat as I was expecting. I mean, seriously, the toddler ate 4 out of the 6 samples, so we’re talking baby spice levels. I decided to have a bowl of the chicken & sausage gumbo, which was the spiciest of the sampled items, and made for a nice light lunch. While I didn’t literally clean my plate, I did make good work of my meal, and our server offered«another scoop» — apparently if you finish your dish, it is the restaurant’s policy to offer a bit more to make sure you don’t go home hungry. My friend had the fried catfish, which she said was very good, and the kid’s menu included chicken fingers(though E. was so busy eating her toddler sized servings of soup that she didn’t eat any chicken). I have an aversion to catfish so didn’t give that a try, but the fries that were served alongside were very good, potatoes fully cooked-through with a crispy fried crust and a bit of cajun seasoning. Since they seem to do fried foods so well, I think an oyster po’ boy will be in order the next time I visit. Oh, I almost forgot about the beignets … I have not had an authentic New Orleans beignet, but these were pretty dreamy.

We had a great experience at The Lost Cajun in Fort Collins. Terrific atmosphere, delicious food, super friendly staff. The sampler tray is brought out right away to help you decide what to order. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Save room for some beignets. Very much looking forward to having dinner with some live cajun music next weekend. New favorite restaurant, for sure!
