Made the honest mistake of drinking the mid-day beer I bought here in the seating area outside of the neighboring saloon. Bartender/owner berated me for it. I’m 60 now and this doesn’t work anymore. I won’t go back, nothing special at this knock off dive anyway.

How is the place open still? Seriously, there is crap and puke everywhere. Save yourself the trouble and drink at home for muuuuuch cheaper.

The burgers were good the service was disputable. The bar tender who worked the lunch shift was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The bar was not busy and I had to ask 3 times for a drink. Pathetic service. The next shift bar tender was better!

Go for the pool, stay for the cheese fries. Seriously, they were out of this world. Beer battered fries topped with cheddar and jack cheese baked to melty perfection. They’re served with ranch and ketchup. They’re bomb with the ranch. Pretend it’s calorie free and eat an order by yourself. Then, just $ 6 for a pitcher of PBR, we’ll take it! They have skee ball so I was a happy gal — machine takes dollar bills. Play against a friend and get all the points. I could have manned that game all night. We also played pool(like chumps), but the bar wasn’t too crowded and it was fun to do while drinking beers and enjoying happy hour. We also played a couple games of competitive Pac Man, which is different from the normal game. You can battle up to three other people. When we were there, a couple dads had their kids running around. Who knew kids were allowed in a bar? If you want a casual, dive bar-like experience, this place is solid.

If you’re expecting sticky floors and mood lighting, this isn’t the place. Personally though, I really like it, all sorts of different spaces to hang out within, it holds a lot of people, good for groups. Has food, pool tables, some video games, limited outdoor seating. Looking for somewhere very casual to hang out, this is a good choice. Check out the special of the day — Tuesday for example is 2 for 1 burgers(normal burger is ~$ 8.50). My order of fries was fried to perfection, they were 2x better than the burger itself(which was only adequate, not that great).

Mutant Village, as my friend calls it. Some interesting people. I like the bar games and the unpretentious atmosphere.

Ok to start this isn’t a criticism of Trail Head as a whole because I love this place. So I guess it’s true that people only go on Unilocal!to complain(I’ll follow this with a 5 star review to even things out). But my issue was Saturday night from 8:30 — 9:00 during New West Fest. Friday night I was in as well and it was WAY busier than that time frame in Saturday. Didn’t have a single issue getting a drink. Today it took me 30 minutes to get a single beer while I was sitting at the bar. The bartender literally ignored me for 30 minutes while he served an entire line of people 6 deep(at the well on the left side of the bar) before he even looked at me. In fact, he didn’t even say anything to me, I was the one who had to flag him down(multiple times) to FINALLY get a single beer. To be honest, coming from experience in high volume service industry bars and restaurants, he seemed COMPLETELY overwhelmed by upper middle volume. Like I said, this isn’t a reflection on this place just this ONE experience.

Trailhead Tavern falls into the category of dive bar, with a handful of decent beverages and a surprising food menu. But, this trend is not too hard to find in Colorado. When you have the space, kitchen, and staff necessary to pull off a heavy-hitting food and beverage program, why not up the ante instead of being a PBR and sandwich place? Fries hold their own in providing a hearty, not-too-greasy snack to soak up the copious amounts of craft beverages. You will find local beers, Colorado liquors, and pretty much the longest shotgun alley for a bar in town. Walk far back into the pool hall to find the regulars, whilst the sports fanatics sit up front near the many televisions. With a moose head and some grungy booths, the ambiance rounds out your experience here.

I love this place. Best bartenders EVER! They remember my name and drinks even though I haven’t lived in foco for years and I’m not a barfly. They also have given me free drinks. Fun, random, dive bar décor and nice pool tables. Interesting mix of clientele, from older people to college students to grad student hipsters. Awesome trivia night with decent food and excellent drink prices. My favorite bar in Fort Collins by far.

Love this place! The staff is always friendly and the crowd is a nice mix of people. Wish they had more monitored seating around dinner time though, often hard to find a table or place at the bar for food.

This is my favorite bar in Colorado, dive or not. I lived in Fort Collins for two years and spent at least one night a week at the Trailhead. They have a great selection of cheap beer, including micro brews, oodles of activities, and an amazingly fun staff. I’ve made so many friends and wonderful memories at this place. I’ve since moved to Denver, but never miss an opportunity to stop in and say hi when I’m in Fort Collins.

Good for drinking beer and watching sports and maybe playing some pool and big-ass video games… staff was very friendly, although there was no waiter service — you have to head to the bar and to the kitchen to order and pick-up your own food(although they do cook it for you ;)… this place is A-OK. Nothing more.

Most people think of Trailhead as a fun late night drinking hole.(Which it is) But the real hidden gem is the lunch special. Everyday they have a different special, country chicken wednesday is my fav, chicken, corn, mash potatoes and a drink all for $ 7. The food is very fresh and delicious!

Across the street from a nice cream shop. This bar is awesome and more than meets the eye. At first glance u thought this place was a dive, but trough the doors I was surprised to see how huge this place is. Ample seating. Ambient lighting. Fun bar games. I imagined it being full of hipsters and mountain men, however it was a good mix of young and old. Lots of fun. Would definitely go back!

So I love this bar!!! The staff, the atmosphere, the food, beer, games, etc. It is all wonderful! I have been coming here for years and it will always be a staple for me! I especially love Wednesday night trivia nights! Which are a lot of fun! They have great bar food, but one of the best things on the menu are the wings!!! These wings are cooked to perfection and have a perfect spiciness! They also always have a plethora of wonderful local brews on tap!!! They also have a bunch of fun games to play, from Big Buck Hunter, to the 4 pool tables in the back, a dart board, video golf, and a couple foosball tables!!! There is always fun to be had at the Trailhead! Don’t forget, tip your bartender! Cause they all are awesome and deserve it!!!

As advertised. A cool dive with great lunch specials. We had Meatloaf Monday and there was nothing prepackaged about it. Homemade loaf, real smashed potatoes for $ 6. OK maybe the green beans were canned but definitely not overcooked and killed with bacon and oil. Rustic atmosphere. Happy hour all day Mondays– nice beer selection. Comfortable. Relaxed. An OK kind of place with interesting décor. If you need upscale or are picky, go down the street. A great place to visit or be a regular.

The Trailhead is your standard, run-of-the-mill dive bar, however, since they’re not pretending to be anything else, they are a great place to go if that’s what you want. It attracts a pretty diverse crowd, and has surprisingly tasty food, to go along with a friendly staff.

My best friend lives here in Foco and we’ve shared quite a few beers and good conversations here. It’s a great casual pub atmosphere with local beers on tap. No complaints here!

I went to college at Front Range Community College and Colorado State University for years but at the time I enjoyed being by myself. On the other hand I also feel that Fort Collins can be a socially isolating place where people socialize in small little groups and it is difficult to get into them. At any rate when one has the honor to have some hard earned college buddys what else can you do on the weekend but go out and drink in a town like this, right? The Trailhead is just such a place. Where college friends go out to drink. The atmosphere is your typical college hangout and has been a long time establishment in Oldtown for years. It falls short a little on character but that is what you are supposed to bring to such a place and watch the never ending cycling of different sports on the large television sets. They also serve food here and it is reasonably priced. Last night was my first night here and the set up here confused me. There are no wait staff here and if you want a beer, you go to the bar and order one. You want food? You go up to the bar and order it. The food then comes prepared in a window just down from the bar. On a busy night like last night it took fifteen minutes for the food to arrive, maybe longer. I went back three times from the table my friends and I were seated at just to make sure my tacos were not sitting there, getting cold. The tacos themselves were ok. Nothing authentic or new to offer. They are good to eat as a snack and fresh enough and quite a few notches up from fast food tacos. The beer is fairly priced as well. Most of the beers they had on tap last night were beers from New Belgium. I got the NB Snow which was a dark beer. It was ok but not my favorite they put out. Trailhead is perfect for college students and the dive bar scene. My expiration date as a college student has long since passed and I only occasionally like dive bars. Preferably my favorite kind of dives are the kinds of bars you go into and it looks like you walked in to the Mos Eisley Cantina where you can people watch all night at all of the odd characters and maybe be one yourself. Not so much the case here. You got to go to the big cities for that. So in addition to that and my other points, Trailhead gets an «A-OK» rating.

The Trailhead Tavern is a dive-bar-gem, nestled on a side street just west of College in old town Fort Collins. The mix of local drinkers and sports fans, all looking for a no-nonsense good time, makes Trailhead a great place to catch a game or just relax and grab a couple of drinks. Atmosphere: The dimly lit ambiance doesn’t do justice to one of the largest and most popular dive bars in Fort Collins. When walking through the front door, we were assaulted by a collection of beer, art-work and outdoorsy memorabilia strewn from the ceiling and covering the walls. They have a great projection TV set-up, combined with Flat screens all in good viewing angles, so we could catch any big game. Service: We experienced good old fashioned bar service with a random cocktail waitress here and there. Drinks: With a fully stocked bar and 14 beers on tap, Trailhead had us covered. If you prefer a girly drink with fruit and swords, you may be in the wrong place. The chalkboards and signs around the bar area should answer all your questions on pricing as well as present daily drink specials. Food: Trailhead offers mostly average bar fair, but at a great price. When we’re eating out and on a budget, we usually give the daily special a go. When the special doesn’t fit our mood, we order the Mountain Fries which are a heaping platter of beer-battered fries smothered in cheese. Seriously? How can you go wrong with that?
