Sadly, my experience with this business(Mike Spector-owner) became one of the many stories I have always heard about in hiring the wrong business but had the good luck to never experience, until now. Without going into the endless details, the doors were not installed properly, failed to function properly(would not close), door jams were shifting, materials used were subpar and workmanship very sloppy and left me to seek another door company to fix. In addition, based on the expertise used, per the manufacturer, the doors were actually ruined leaving their performance and lifespan very limited because they were unnecessarily cut down below the allowable specs. It was a costly project for me so the continuing repairs will be a financial burden in addition to the stress of endless months of unpleasantness. In an effort to avoid legal action, the owner was contacted repeatedly until it was clear to me my efforts, patience and kindness would go unanswered. I did pursue actions with the County but they are limited in authority and although they agreed with my case after inspection, could not do anything to protect consumers. In an attempt to seek a fair agreement, the business owner hid behind his escape from the county and the two minute City inspection that took place prior to all the issues that surfaced. I wish i could say this was an isolated incident but this was part of a group installation in our building and this happened to my neighbors as well. He is also an all cash(check only) contractor, 75% up front by check and remainder after inspection which I had never heard of before and the problems happened after it was too late and money was collected. I could never recommend this business to anyone based on my experience and have learned a valuable lesson to not only collect references but to look at the contractors previous work and look for businesses that have more customer focused payment terms and pride in their workmanship.
