Great customer service! Had hot café con leche in Miami many times but tried iced café con leche here for first time. It was perfect for hot summer day. I didn’t care for mojito but sangria was not bad. Will be back for coffee for sure.

The staff here is super friendly! I never go wrong with their specialty empanadas. I love flan and I love cheesecake — so their flan cheesecake is a must every time. Happy to have this place walking distance from home and work.

We had a brunch bowl today which was very tasty. However, the overall portion size was lacking. I wish there was more lechon… Just a few strands. And they charged an extra 1.50 for a couple of slices of avocado… Smh!

This is what i came to florida for. Domgggggg finally. Some great cuban food served up in a modern vibe. Totally real. Im in line ordering and people are loling at me — iced café con leche, beef empanada, flan, ipa beer(its like 1030am btw) and a ham croquette. Im like whattt, this is shibi. I order like crazy. One bite of everything and its all makes me so happy. I was so tired like 20 mins ago at ft lauderdale beach, drowning in touristy vibes. I needed to escape. Also this is the first place in florida iv ever been to that understands the word portion control. Like this is a healthy mix of food. Empanada is flaky but not bloated. Perfect. Croquette is like a lil mozz stick in terms of size, cheesy meaty goodness. The flan is probably my favorite part. So flavorful and luscious. Mmmm. Wash it down with the café con leche, my pupils dilate as a surge of caffeine rushes through my veins. Lifeeee. Im back bitches haha. So glad this is my last stop in ft lauderdale. Def needed it to recover before i head out. Oh and did i mention it was all 17 bucks. Out of control awesome!

Ever since I had their iced Café Con Leche no other coffee has been able to quite measure up. I am forever ruined in the best way possible. The sandwich is sooooo good as well. They’re consistently good and I’ve never had an issue the times I’ve been there. If there’s one tiny complaint that I have is that I only wish the sandwich were a little bit bigger. Besides that, coming here for breakfast is possibly the best way to start your day!

It is definitely Cuban food with a youthful twist which is great considering the area and the setting. It’s a coffee shop not a big dinner where they serve mucho rice. I like that you can enjoy Cuban food in a spot that is not overwhelming, and the food is amazing! They definitely set the bar higher for other Cuban places in the area. I personally will revisit some places to see how they do knowing what I know now. Everything I try is like a carnival in my mouth, sooo flavorful. I don’t like cardboard like food which is the main reason I stay away from chain restaurants. Give me something different that I can talk about that’s what authentic is in my book. I will go back so my BF can enjoy it too.

We were dying to try some Cuban food and Unilocal pointed us this way. Cool little place in a new complex. There is nothing Cuban in the décor… well, maybe one wall. Feels like a high school cafeteria. You order at counter and they bring to your table. We ordered the steak sandwich with spicy mayo. The bread best part of the meal. It was so soft, fresh and good. The steak was seasoned and flavorful-a bit chewy, but the worst part was — -there was BARELY any steak on the sandwich. One THIN slice. Thank goodness for the bread. The couple next to us were having some sort of fried plantain and raving about it. So I went back up and ordered one. Never found out exactly what it was, but it was GOOD. Had a tarter-like dipping sauce. My buddy also had the cheesecake flan which he said was spectacular. This place is a coffee shop first. Everyone who came in ordered coffee.(Except us). They have a couple beers on tap, but the atmosphere is a bit cold(high school cafeteria). Although the food was good, we were hoping for something a bit more authentic. To top it off, the girl at the counter(who was SUPER nice) didn’t even know they are a Cuban restaurant.(When I mentioned we found them under Cuban food on Unilocal, her response was«Cuban food? I’m not sure about that». I would go back, and overall it was probably 4-stars —it’s just not a Cuban restaurant.

Found this little shop near our Airbnb for the weekend. The ambiance is great, and the food is very classic Cuban with a touch of the modern gastropub style. They have brunch on the weekends, craft beer available every day, and great weekly specials. I have it four stars because the smaller items are slightly overpriced for classic Cuban eats, but other than that really enjoyed our time at Colada, and will definitely be coming back. Bonus! The place is dog friendly! Super awesome

My guy and I love biking here in the afternoons. It has a nice outdoor area with shade. I had their coffee and a pastry, and both were excellent. The pastry crust was seriously amazing; flaky, golden goodness. While I was waiting, I was talking to some of the people that worked there, and they explained the whole back-story of the shop and how it came from an original bakery. Explains why their stuff is so good! I really enjoyed how effortlessly friendly the staff was, it was nice to have a conversation instead of awkwardly standing there to get my coffee. Oh, and THEYHAVEBEER. I haven’t been able to make it at the right time yet, but they have bottomless beer specials and I’m definitely taking advantage of that soon. Their draft list is filled with local and seasonal beers, leaving something for everyone. This place is perfect for locals and visitors alike.

O.M.G. AMAZING!!! Colada totally surpassed my expectations. Decided to try this place for our first Cuban food experience and it «WOW“‘d us. The food is exquisite and savory. I had a veggie«frita» with green plantains instead of Cuban bread and yuca fries, and it was all heavenly. Brittany at the front was awesome and incredibly helpful. I would definitely go back!

My husband really wanted to try this place out and even though I’m not huge on Cuban food, I caved. My husband ordered a Cuban Bowl, which you get a choice of different ingredients. He decided on the ropa veija. He seemed to really like it. I ordered a pressed steak sandwich and added cheese. I got the mojo sauce on the side and it was delicious. The steak was also very flavorful. For a take out dessert I got the Tres Leches and I loved it except I wish it was bigger. The service was too notch. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to you. She greeted us immediately too which is rare. I noticed she did the same with other patrons as well. And don’t forget to throw on a couple of dollars too!

Tucked away in a residential area, this place has a very cool vibe. The atmosphere is modern with comfort and the menu sounds amazing. Avocado hollandaise sauce? Yes please. Had so much high hopes but the food itself was only mediocre. It wasn’t very hot but lukewarm. The coffee was decent but not the best either. Overall, good place to chill out but needs more attention in the food coming out of the kitchen. Value 3⁄5 Atmosphere 5⁄5 Service 4⁄5 Quality 3⁄5 15⁄20

What a great little restaurant. It offers breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can get delicious empanadas(love the beef one), pastelitos(beef, guava, guava and cheese or cheese) — all delicious, colada, esspresso, cuban coffee, etc. We did not get a chance to get the meals, but they offer rice and beans, picadillo, ropa vieja, sandwiches like medianoche, cubano, etc. Their desserts look wonderful too… flan, flan cheesecake, cakes, etc… The quality is consistent and top notch. I’m going back next time I am in the area. The staff is courteous and smiley. Great spot.

Visited Colada in the late afternoon during the week, so it was very quiet. Inside is nicely decorated, on the small side but the high ceilings make it feel more spacious. A couple of TVs silently playing food channels. Free wifi. They have a selection of food which has a Cuban theme running through it. I won’t say this place is authentic though. I they have some great craft beers on tap. Apparently Saturdaze means you get bottomless beers for $ 15 between 10 – 2 if you wanted to start your weekend blasted. Lol. I had a steak sandwich which was tasty. He had a rice bowl and wasn’t impressed, you’ll have to check his review for details. Service was super friendly and quick. I would definitely drop by again for lunch.

Came to Colada for the Roast Pork sandwich. The pork was cooked nicely. It was juicy and did maintain a certain flakiness like corned beef that I find preferable. However, I was just not impressed with the sandwich. The bread was unimpressive and flavorless. The topping on the sandwich itself were not crisp or fresh tasting. The curry mustard I asked for on there was not detectable at all, which was especially problematic seeing as the meat itself was not adequately seasoned. The cost was too high for what you get. I just wouldn’t come back.

10⁄3 — Cortadito, Pastries and Craft Beer… you can’t go wrong. I think what I liked most about this place is the staff. So friendly and approachable. The girl who served us came right up to us and asked us how we were doing and started to tell us how the whole concept of Colada started. That’s great customer service if you ask me. They have a cozy seating area. There were 3 girls seating in the couch just chatting it up, and a couple playing dominos. There are TV’s all over the place so you can sip your coffee and catch the game. The coffee was delicious. The pastries were not so great. I was disappointed. They were warm but they were all crust. I wanted them to be more filled with guava and cheese. You had to bite all the way in the middle to get to the good stuff. They were a little flat. They serve craft beer on tap. We had Cigar City Brewing«Guayabera». It is in a nice location as well.

Coloda House is from the people behind the wonderful Miramar Bakery. Colada transforms that simplicity into a more modern café concept. The place looks great, from the bookshelf nook to the well thought out graphic design of the menu board. It’s interesting that they chose to call this the Coloda House rather than the Coloda Café because it is more modern than homey. As a long standing personal rule, if a place has a specific food in the title then I am required to order the item(at least on the first visit). The Coloda(shot of cuban espresso with sugar) did not disappoint. It is the perfect bitter/sweet combination that is irresistible. The pastelitos are also fantastic. They are flaky, crunchy and bursting with flavor. The other things I have tried here do not meet this high standard. I have had the Cuban sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. I found the eggs in the breakfast sandwich to be especially disappointing. Not surprisingly, the best part of the sandwiches is the bread and I love that you can choose between the standard Cuban bread and the sweeter media noche bread. I wish that they would allow you to buy the bread by the loaf but unfortunately they do not have enough space. The service is friendly and the pricing is fair. The parking situation a bit odd. Parking is free but located in an adjacent building as part of the apartment’s parking garage. It is not too far, especially if you use the back entrance to the café. However, it’s a bit too far of a walk for a quick coffee/pastry on the way to work when drive-thrus or easy access to coffee is pretty standard. Overall Coloda House is like the band Audioslave which was formed with Chris Cornell fronting Rage Against the Machine. The DNA is fantastic but somehow when it all comes together it is not as good as it should be.

Came across this spot after the«well known» Cuban sandwich spot in area nearby was unknowingly closed during the day(when they are listed as open!). Colada turned out to be an excellent spot for a quick Cuban lunch. Had the traditional Cubano sandwich with fries and split a beef empanada, croquetta, and fresh chicharrones with the table. The sandwich was great, the pork had really good flavor. Fries were natural cut shoestring, not too greasy. The empanada and croquetta weren’t cooked to order as they sit in a hot case by the counter, but we’re both still pretty good. Croquetta had a ham and cheese filling and the empanada was a well seasoned beef. I’d get both again. The chicharrones is where I’m lost. I’ve never liked them anywhere and this place is no different for me. If you go by the group I shared lunch with, they were amazing if you’re into that sort of thing. For me personally, I just don’t get fried pork skin. Overall, worth a try if your in Fort Lauderdale!

Now having had Brunch, Lunch, and Happy Hour here I can say this is a solid three star spot! Let me start off by saying the customer service is always on point here and they go above and beyond for their customers! Inside is always kept very clean with tables and a couch; they also have a couple of outdoor tables on their patio. With two entrances people seem to get confused with where to go and where to park. The parking garage directly behind the business has plenty of FREE parking on the first two floors which there is also free street parking around the whole neighborhood; if need be. There is an entrance in the front of the business and one in the«rear» which is actually the door most used and easiest to get into their café. They are nestled between Mellow Mushroom and Source Salon. Every time I walk in I am greeted immediately no matter how busy they are! You will see a huge menu on the wall, drafts, empanadas/croquettes display, and a dessert display! Take your time and order as you would like! The draft beers are always great unique craft brews but they also offer Sangria and Mojitos! And of course you can not forget about their Cuban Coffee! The food for me is always lacking in some form but still a good quick stop! The items I have tried include: Chicharrones– THEBEST I HAVEHADINMYLIFE! Biscuits & Gravy– Good Gravy; Dry Biscuits Havana Hangover– Bring Your Own Hot Sauce! Chicken Chop Bowl– Shredded Chicken; Undercooked Rice Pieces Empanadas/Tostones– Vary By Time Of Order Iced Café Con Leche– Super Sweet Mimosas– Table Side Bottle Of Champagne! Sangria/Mojito– Fair but Lacking Craft Brews– Love The Rotating Taps! For quick Cuban this is an In and Out spot that you can get your Cuban Craving fulfilled and in record speed! Orders come out in usually about two minutes and as always you will get your order with a bright smile!
