Being originally from Chattanooga TN, the home of the Krystal burger… I miss Krystal more than I ever imagined. In Chattanooga, there are Krystal locations everywhere, down here in South Florida there is one — Fort Lauderdale and I live in West Palm Beach, about 50 miles away. Sure it’s fast food but when you have a craving for a Krystal burger, you gotta have one. My recommendation is special order it, I ask for no onions, and it will always be fresh. It is certainly not diet food but once in awhile is ok, which is all I can do, being so far away. I wish they had more locations in South Florida.

I’ve been coming here once every few weeks with my grandfather, who is visiting from West-by-God Virginia, because he’s literally obsessed with these little burgers. Every single time, all I hear is, «I just don’t understand why they don’t have more locations in South Florida. I was going to open up a franchise, but…» Okay Pop Pop, I hear you. To be fair, they’re pretty tasty. I mean, they’re obviously good enough if I’m humoring him by going as often as we do. But really? They charge about a dollar per mini burger(cheese is extra? come on), unless you get some sort of packaged deal or come during their«happy hour.» Personally, if you can go down the street and get a regular sized burger for a buck, I’m not sure why people would regularly want to pay this much for each small, bite-sized morsel. And I guess a lot of people don’t. I was there for lunch hour on Wednesday, and it was a slow, sad trickle of people, with a maximum of 5 at a time ordering inside at any given moment. But mostly there were just long, quiet gaps of inactivity. I don’t get how they’re still open, if we’re being 100% honest. This location is also a bit questionable. There’s often at least one homeless person sleeping inside. There’s this one smiley register lady that’s always there, and she’s a pleasure, but overall, the ambiance(even for a fast food joint) is sort of lackluster. But don’t tell my Pop Pop that.

Ok so it is what is is. Very similar to WHITECASTLE. Only this menu is very limited compared to there. This place basically only has: Mini burgers Mini hotdogs(with or without chili) Mini Chicken Sandwiches Wing dings Fried(with or without chili and cheese) Apple turnovers Drinks(COKE) /Coffee /Icees And that is about it. Not sure about breakfast because we came at 6:21pm. Food is decent. I would have done 3 stars but the lady at the front register Rachel was very nice and it was clean… so I added a star for that. The neighborhood ummmmmm… Uhhhh… just use the drive thru and lock your doors lol jk. We ordered: A kids meal cheeseburger. It came with a mini cheeseburger, fries, drink, and moonpie. $ 3.75 Then we had the mix 5 items for $ 5.00. Nothing to write home about but not awful either. Awful for the diet but hey… Don’t judge me!

We get the breakfast here every once in a while because it’s a cheap and convenient fix. They use real eggs and the bacon is great. The sausage is like mystery meat. Stick with scrambled eggs because they don’t really comprehend fried eggs. The staff is a little wild. I once had someone tell me they«ain’t got no lemon shakes» despite the sign out front offering them(when i pointed out the sign he suddenly remembered). The Krystal burgers are exactly what they’re supposed to be; White Castle lookalikes. They’re the same quality, too. You can’t go wrong(or right) with a Krystal Burger.

If you are a fan of White Castle burgers then you will love Krystal’s!!! I live in the Margate/Coral Springs area and I will drive all the way into Fort Lauderdale just to patronize this restaurant. Yes, it is in a very unsavory area but who cares, the food is awesome!!! There used to be a fast food restaurant in Deerfield Beach called The Lil Red Caboose and they also sold little square mini burgers like White Castle’s too but unfortunately for some reason they closed down. I was soooo disappointed because that restaurant was close to my job and closer to my home. Oh well… what’s a gal to do now??? Drive all the way to Krystal’s of course!!! Another great thing on their menu is the Krystal Chiks, the mini chicken sandwhiches. Their french fries look very plain but are super good and tasty!!! Check out this restaurant on the corner of Powerline Road & Sunrise Blvd…:-)

Special staff friendly but need better training on how to conduct them-self around customers… Had to repeat the order a few time. The food was good. But you may think twice if the restaurant is clean enough… Random people walking in a soliciting.

Totally awesome experience! I would love to recommend the krystal burgers. I know that it just looks like a normal burger but trust me, this one is really good. That 200% pure beef patty, this burger is really perfect. Would love to come back again.

It’s no White Castle but in South Florida, Krystal will have to do. This is as good a Krystal as any. My order is always right, the service is always prompt, the food is always hot and fresh. Try the corn dogs. They’re the best. 5 Stars compared to other fast food drive through joints.

I have currently been sitting in the drive thru at Krystal’s for the past 15 minutes. How on earth do you classify this is «fast food»

One of my favorite burger joints, kind of upset that I have to drive all the way to Broward/Ft. Lauderdale to get to one. Every time I take my kids, I order those little burgers, little chicken, mini chili cheese hot dogs and they’re very yummy fries. They have also for dessert small cinnamon fried doughnuts. Prices are always reasonable and you get alot for a buck. If you up for a drive and want to have the closest thing to a White Castle, I highly recommend Krystal.

My boyfriend is from New York and loves White Castle burgers. Krystal’s is the closest he can get and we found one here in South Florida. I didn’t want to blow his little bubble but I noticed this place has serious management issues upon arriving. The floors looked as if they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. The staff– ugh, don’t even get me started. The cashier had no idea how to ring up an order and kept cussing and yelling at her co-workers to help. What’s even worse, her manager was right there and just laughed at her. She finally figured it out and began taking both the orders from us inside and the customers at the drive thru– at the same time– so you never really knew when she was actually talking to you. We finally got our order and the burgers were mehhhh. They could have been a lot better if the buns weren’t soggy due to being smothered in onion water and if hobos weren’t walking in and out while we ate. I didn’t really enjoy it at all.

When I was told they were like White Castle I had to fill my curiosity, eliminate the mustard, extra onions and I was impressed, if they came in a White Castle box I would swear they were the same! They definitely are close if not the same.

Alright, I GET Krystal burger. This place is like the White Castle of the South. It has a unique flavor not found at your average national fast-food burger chain. We were driving down I-95 and my wife saw the sign for Krystal burger at the Sunrise exit and immediately cut across the freeway all the way from the far left lane just to make the exit. Yeah, that’s how my baby rolls. She LOVESLOVESLOVES her Krystal burger and it had been a year since she last had one in Orlando so it was like discovering an oasis in the desert. We also made sure to stop by for a return visit on our way to the airport. Have to admit, the tasty little slider on the soft squishy bun was noms and hit the spot for an afternoon nosh. It’s easy to see how fans of White Castle would come here and binge on these. I’m even jonesing for one as I write this. We sure don’t have anything like Krystal back home in Colorado. The place is ghetto for sure but it shines like Krystal.

THERE’S A KRYSTALINSOUTHFLORIDA! THERE’S A KRYSTALINSOUTHFLORIDA! THERE’S A KRYSTALINSOUTHFLORIDA! No, seriously. There is a Krystal in South Florida. I saw the sign on I95 as I was driving Southbound, and cut across 3 lanes of traffic to exit on Sunrise.(So basically, I fit right in on I95.) It was about 10am… but HOLYCRAP, It’s KRYSTAL! About a Mile east through some choice ‘Hood, you’ll find it on the left. Kinda hidden. Kinda Sketch. But SOWHAT? IT’S KRYSTAL! (I’m seeing a pattern here.) Those of you who are not familiar with the White Castle /Krystal Concept may just not get it. If you’re expecting some sort of Hipster, Fast-Casual, Grass-Fed beef, please keep on driving. But these sliders? Steamed Buns, two-biters, grilled onions, pickles and mustard. Like their Northern Kin, White Castle, they’re irresistible little stomach bombs. YUM! I’ve heard stories from both sides of the Mason-Dixon of people filling a bag with 20 sliders and«noshing» on them in the car. I can easily picture that. In fact, we made friends with another customer who told us these are his Go-To when he’s craving the White Castle style slider of his New York homeland. Yes! Family, Baby! Krystal Burgers are absolutely perfect, because they don’t try to be anything else.

I wanted to try this place because I watched White Castle and living in south florida I knew I wasn’t going to go there so why not settle for the next best thing. BIGMISTAKE. I went to go satisfy my curiosity and had the #1 sliders with cheese fries and a coke. The coke was good. The fries were ok, taste like KFC fries. Finally the sliders. They are sure made with onions but that doesn’t make them taste oh so great. Overall it wasn’t good, but it was edible. I have a horrible burp now though

Really greasy… I think the mini burgers needed ketchup or something to make them edible. The chili cheese fries were pretty good though. Nothing like White castles except for the size of the burger. I miss white castles…

Less than mediocre sliders and greasy pale patties, Krystal seemed as close to a White Castle as I could get, but left me with a bit of a tummy ache. Service was friendly, so you get a star.

I used to dog a bag of White Castle sliders when I used to live in Chicago on a regular basis every weekend after hitting up the bars and to be quite honest, I do miss those little meaty-oniony, soft bastards. Not any longer though. Krystal is as close to a White Castle burger(sliders) as anyone in South Florida will get. Their so darn close that I’m on the verge of stating that they are WC with a different name. But, from my last visit at the Krystal in Ft. Lauderdale, I did notice that there are some new items that I never saw, nor did I ever think I would see, at a White Castle. To begin with, Krystal’s menu has way more variety than a WC; from hot dogs, a wide variety of sides; from grits to salads, regular sized Angus burgers, breakfast items(check out their scramlers!) and, their newest item on the menu, buffalo wings available in 4 different flavors! The last time I ate at a WC’s was late last year on a weekend trip to Chicago and, I must admit, I didn’t really notice that much change in WC’s menu. To Krystal’s credit, they do a fairly good job at providing a decent slider. BUT, every little slider burger I eat will undoubtly be gauged and compared against a White Castle burger. However, Krystal definitely has a much wider and broader selection for the more picky eater. PRO: Taste just like White Castle, free Wi-fi, open until 1 am on Fri & Sat. CON: Neighborhood is a little iffy.
