I cannot believe this place closed down. I found out today when I was taking my mom to have brunch. Truly sad! The food was amazing and the service was great! Really going to miss this place. They should have charge more for their Sunday brunch.

I stopped by today, but apparently, they’ve closed. Maybe if they took critique to heart, rather than a back-handed slap to the reviewers… they could still be open.

Amazing!!! Everything was fresh and delicious. The quiche was mouth watering and the crime brûlée was by far the best I have ever had. Did the Sunday Brunch and can’t wait to come back.

This restaurant is wonderful. The food was fresh and delicious. The owner was a delight and the waitress was attentive and sweet. I love the décor and ambiance. It’s definitely a great place to have a cozy meal. I really enjoyed my experience. Yes it’s food but everything about eating out is an experience for both your palette and eyes. It’s a feel good place.

Staff was really nice and efficient, I had high expectations on my food, the place is well decorated and clean. I ordered three completely different meals, one for my boss, for me and for my co-worker. I asked them separately what they thought about the food and they said it was extremely salty. The owner messaged me right away apologizing for the mistake and willing to improve, which is fantastic and rare to see nowadays, definitely trying again.

Not sure where to begin! Read a few reviews and despite some of the not so nice ones, my boyfriend and I decided to try it in the name of good French cuisine. We came for Sunday Brunch. They have a prefix menu for $ 25 which starts off with a quiche, choice of croissant or brioche, an omelette or eggs Benedict, a bowl of first or a dessert of your choice and for a drink, choice of OJ, mimosa, Bellini or strew berry champagne. Everything was beyond what we expected. Service was excellent, we had both the quiches(chicken & mushroom and the ham) — so soft, light and an explosion of flavor — the pastry was as flakey as they come. The plain and chocolate croissant was awesome! — AND … OMG! The egg Benedict was out of this world– the omelette was also fabulous! Now. Onto the dessert– you have a choice any dessert in display but we opted for the Crème brûlée and fresh fruit bowl. I am a huge Crème brûlée fan and this one was made with pure vanilla bean which made it different. The color was lighter but the taste was smooth, light and AMAZING! We will be back to try dinner very very soon!

This is my new favorite French restaurant in Broward! C’est magnifique! We went in for lunch and were served by the most friendly and helpful server from France. I had a quiche and my mother had a Croque Monsieur. The food was delicious– but the dessert was to die for! They have an ever changing menu and a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Kudos to the chef, pastry chef, and server. A great little find

Having just returned from a trip to Paris I decided to go to Le Chef with a friend for dinner. I had been there before so I decided to write a review since this restaurant is worth patronizing, we need restaurants like this to do well in our town. Every time I have eaten there I am amazed at the quality of the food. The owner which also serves tables couldn’t be any nicer. It’s on the expensive side but it’s well worth it. I don’t mind paying more for food this exceptional. During my trips to Paris, I have had the pleasure of eating in very fine restaurants. This one is up there with the best of them. Highly recommended

Amazing!!! I love fresh French food and this restaurant truly delivers. I came here for my friends birthday lunch and had the Miraval wine, the Niçoise salad and the chocolate ball for desert. YUM!

Went here for dessert and coffee with a friend. We both had cappuccinos and split the lemon meringue dessert. The presentation was beautiful. The pastry was the perfect size. Not too sweet. Crust was crumbly and amazing. Def gonna come back and try their dinner menu.

Had great expectations of this place based on reviews and chatter I’d heard from foodies. It didn’t disappoint. Food was delish, service was prompt and friendly. The pastries were to die for and my Croq Msr. was fabulous. Only knock would be prices, a little higher than the norm, especially for the sweets. But an occcasional Saturday splurge won’t hurt. Mercí Le Chef!

First brunch– now lunch! Couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with the quality and care that goes into each offering exquisitely prepared here! I almost never write reviews, but feel compelled to give Le Chef another 5 stars for lunch as well as brunch! Today I was fortunate to have shared the best French onion soup(full of flavor with the perfect ratio of onions, croutons and cheese) and club sandwich(also full of flavor with ingredients sliced and layered precisely, pressed perfectly together so nothing is missed with each bite)! I also shared my first croque Madame– I will have another :). — and the Napoleon for dessert could actually be shared if you must without requiring a knife to saw through layers for two pieces, making a mess as has been required to share one at other«French» restaurants. It was the best Napoleon I have ever had and because it is created to perfection you only need a fork to enjoy all the layers together with each bite :) Le Chef is top notch! So many compliments to The Chef and The Patisserie!!!

25.00 brunch bottomless mimosas and bellinis included. I put this first because most locals understand worthwhile brunches with bottomless beverages in the area rang around 50.00. This brunch is not only tasty but refreshing as well. Authentic French cook, actually in house, Phillipe Martinetti can deliver not only a filling brunch but also a quality one at that. The menu is a set one for Sunday brunch so this is definitely not a place for picky eaters at least not on Sunday’s. French cuisine at its authenticity giving very special attention to the smallest details in every dish. Croissants have the light crispy shell with the beautiful soft inside and the aroma that it has been freshly baked. Quiche and omelet dish both moist and beautifully presented served with a mix green salad and roasted potatoes. The Eggs Benedict were good, the egg cooked to perfection, Hollandaise sauce not to salty but what gave the dish a little boost was the pico de gallo/bruschetta like salad underneath and a very crunchy slice of croûton. Macaroons come with the meal of assorted flavors and the texture had a nice crisp outside with the lightly sweetened cream. Depending on the server the service is even similar to traditional French serving which is of course PERFECTION. Never rushing letting you sit and chat as long as you like requiring to have to request the check when your party has completed; very similar to France. Anywho definitely the new hot spot in FTL and would recommend Sunday Brunch here any day!

After coming here last weekend my girlfriend and I wrote reviews. The owner made some rude, disparaging, condescending and very public remarks on my girlfriend’s review. This was very inappropriate. You won’t be seeing me here again. The owner Marie-Christine obviously needs to take a crash course in customer service. I’ve seriously never been more offended by a business in my life. Thanks for the offer of a free desert. I won’t be taking you up on that offer.

I was soooo looking forward to visiting the recently opened Le Chef. I have such an affinity for French food, especially the pastries! This weekend Sam surprised me by saying we could pop in at Le Chef and he would treat me to a pastry. There were so many to choose from, but I settled on the one that had a macaron on top, was filled with vanilla crème and was on top of a caramel tarte(unfortunately I forget its name). Sam got the chocolate bomb. Both pastries had an $ 8 price tag in front of them. I personally thought that was a bit expensive, but hey I guess you pay for quality and presentation(both of which were impeccable). Now here is where our visit goes wrong. Sam went to pay and the cashier told him our total for two pastries was just over $ 21!!! I was floored. How does $ 8+$ 8=$ 21, even with tax? Well it doesn’t. Sam made sure to ask the cashier what was up just in case it was an honest mistake, turns out it wasn’t. The cashier told us that there was separate pricing for the weekends(this was a Saturday) and that the $ 8 per pastry was the price during the week. No where was there a sign that described this policy. Also, the cashier never mentioned that the pastries were marked incorrectly when we were selecting them. I was honestly ready to walk right out of Le Chef, but Sam decided to try and argue the price down to what it was marked and displayed at. Luckily for us the cashier finally agreed to charge us the displayed price. It was a very uncomfortable situation. We took our pastries home and devoured them immediately. I have to say they were truly amazing. The chocolate bomb was great, but mine was 10 million times better. One of the best pastries I’ve ever had. I’m giving Le Chef 1 star for the experience and 5 stars for the food, which leads me to the 3 stars overall. I really wish we didn’t have an uncomfortable experience at Le Chef, their product is amazing and I would normally love to go back, but I’m not a fan of shady practices.

I came to Le Chef for Mother’s Day. It was absolutely amazing. The food was to die for and the service was incredible. They had a special Mother’s Day brunch. They’re wasn’t a lot of options to choose from, but they didn’t even need it after all. It came with a starter, meal, and dessert. Also, delicious mimosas. They also gave my mom 3 little pastries as a present for Mother’s Day. The restaurant is really nice and well put together. This was the best French food I have ever had. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be returning.

What amazing new little French Bistro. Was in this afternoon for lunch with my mother. So clean and minimally decorated. Beautiful. Small menu w/many specials. Everything looked so good was so hard to decide. My mother had a vegetable lasagna and I had chicken and mushrooms. My dish was absolutely incredible! The sauce was so flavorful and creamy, yet not too rich. I did not try the vegetable lasagna, however my mother couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved it. She even stated that«this is my new favorite restaurant». Our server(Bob) was very nice and didn’t hover… Very attentive and friendly. I am looking forward to going back for sure, maybe tomorrow…

I confess my bias for French foods, especially those prepared simplistically, more in what I might term as being of provincial style like would have been home cooked by a Julia Child rather than elaborate as might have been prepared by the likes of an Escoffier. So, on this count, I was rather pleased with Le Chef. Le Chef occupies a rather pleasant location on East Oakland Park Boulevard with ample private parking. Its interior is casual, simplistic, no table clothes or anything boarding on the fancy. It’s spotlessly clean, neat in appearance with the bare tables adorned with little more than a small bowl of a single fresh flower and also houses what is basically a pastry like market. The standard menu is exceedingly abbreviated in choices, but a chalk board contains a good enough selection of daily offerings. The wine selection is also small but offering a unique choice of varietals. My choices were from the board, being the calamari salad, $ 18, and the confit lamb shank, $ 24, along with a glass of wine. After placing my order I was first served with a metal bucket of varying breads, but oddly without any butter, dipping oil or any other such accoutrements as one might normally expect. I was rather surprised that for also being the home of a pastry of bake shop, the breads weren’t, at least to my taste, very good. Then when I did request some butter, was give two of those rather nonsensically foil wrapped little patties in a state frozen harder than rock. My calamari salad was served in impressive presentation, beautiful in appearance, with a small metal cup in the center surround by thin sliced deliciously dressed tomato. Unfortunately the texture of the calamari was rubbery though on the side, of very nice flavor. My confit of lamb shank, however, more than made up for the shortcomings of the rather yesterday tasting bread and the rubbery in texture calamari. It was exceptionally well trimmed, devoid of any unnecessary fats or skin, perfectly done having a not only a good texture about it but delicious in taste as well. Indeed in every way it was everything I have come to expect of a good confit of lamb shank, and on that count so outstanding that, even though I didn’t find the breads or calamari they served me as being very good, I going to go Four Stars overall for Le Chef. As for service there was only one waitress working during my visit attempting to serve more tables than any one person should be doing, but she was polite, helpful, and most efficient. Matter fact I sort of felt sorry for her, but despite being somewhat overworked was composed and handled the situation well in a seemingly unrushed manner.

My partner and I stopped in for dinner tonight at Le Chef. The space is a refreshing change in Fort Lauderdale, simple and beautiful. We scoped out the pastries and desserts before sitting down, each was visually amazing and I was ready to order one of each. However I played it cool and sat down. We order the French onion soup to start. I generally do not order this soup but upon recommendation we tried it out. It was no joke. A rich, unbelievably flavorful broth packed with sweet onions, delicious cheese and chunks of bread. Chris ordered a veal confit for his main dish. My fork dug into his meal the entire meal. I could not stop eating his dish. The veal was tender and flavored to perfection. I have never had veal done so nicely. The portion is large, so be prepared to feast. But well worth the commitment! I had a calamari appetizer as my main dish. Again it was a unique take on a common dish. The calamari was tender, light and not fried. Simply seasoned in herbs, presented beautifully centered within thin sliced tomatoes with what seemed to be a light homemade pesto. I devoured my meal and continued to pick at Chris’ veal as well. The presentation of each dish was immaculate and almost too good to ravage. But we did anyway :) Dessert was a homemade chocolate lava cake with thinly sliced candied apples. I really can’t begin to express how easy it was to finish off that cake in a matter of seconds. Really really really really great. But of course I was still pumped for more and topped off my quickly growing waistline by ending the meal with a single vanilla homemade macaroon. So worth it! Needless to say we will be back.
