Until I received a discount shout on one of my social apps, I had thought Moments in Time only did catering. As I had attended several functions they have catered, was delighted with the food prepared by their chef, Jack Atwell, I was really thrilled to find out that they have also expanded into a bistro operation serving lunches, dinners, immediately shot over for dinner and was totally glad I did. Located in 3000 Plaza off Federal Highway they really couldn’t have a better location as it generally has plenty of available free parking and the plaza area is better kept, more eye pleasing pleasant than the typical South Florida strip mall type of locations. Moments in Time is small, but spotlessly clean with a modern comfortable décor and though the menu is limited it’s actually full of unique, innovative items and twists of culinary delights than any other restaurant around. I ordered their appetizer of «Jumbo Shrimp Rockefeller,» a main of sliced smoked duck breast and a glass of their house Tilla Malbec. When the shrimp arrived they were perfectly done, perfectly prepared in a true classic Rockefeller style with the same base of greens and flavor as created by Jules Alciatore of Antoines in New Orleans which he applied to his famous Oysters Rockefeller; named Rockefeller for its wealth in flavor. It was a delicious dish, a novel culinary twist, yet at same time classic. My duck breast came thinly sliced in a delightful presentation with a pomegranate reduction sauce in an extraordinary light freshly made crêpe with an arugula that mix. The sliced duck was exceedingly tender, had a most pleasant light smoke flavor which not only blended perfectly but was seemingly overall enhanced in flavor intensity with the pomegranate reduction; a totally flavorful treat to the palate. Moments in Time is to me, one of the best of Fort Lauderdale’s hidden culinary gems and I can’t wait to get back to try some of their other offerings with my eye especially upon trying their«Seared Foie Gras Chocolate Mole’ and Cherry Sauce.» The hours of operation which are listed on Unilocal at the time of my visit weren’t correct. As I didn’t see their actual hours posted and since the waitress didn’t seem much interested(she suggested I use Urban Spoon) in whether or not the hours were correct when I pointed it out, I’m not about to suggest any changes. But, I confess I may have a selfish, more sinister reasons for that. If word of how good Moments in Time is gets out to too many, it might get too crowded or too popular for me to get in.

Most definitely the best brunch I have had in Ft Lauderdale. Beautiful atmosphere, quiet, the most unique menu. Wow. Can’t wait to come back again and again and try everything else. If there were 10 stars. This place would get it

I’ve worked with Moments in Time Catering for numerous dinners at my home and Jack and his staff haven’t disappointed me, or any of my «foodie» guests, yet. Their meals are always high quality, clean– not greasy, and tastefully presented. Jack is very responsive and accommodating. He is attentive to your needs and is great at being able to provide a cohesive menu for the occasion. I highly recommend them.
