Rude hostess equals us leaving. My husband and I made reservations here and we’re given the 11:25 am slot. Ok we arrived on time and approached the hostess. She looked at us as if we knocked on the door to her home and asked for sugar. In addition to her attitude we were told that the restaurant wasn’t ready. Well I asked why we were given a reservation when the entire Ocean2000 was still preparing the buffet. Her answer: Sit in the lobby and we’ll get you in 5 minutes. Oh I failed to mention we were celebrating our Anniversary, a detail the hostess knew from my initial call. 20 minutes later we were still sitting in the lobby waiting to be acknowledged. Ok, at $ 60 a person I’m going to need you to do better. I calmly went to open table and made reservations at Steak95410 minutes away and we jumped in a taxi. Sorry Ocean2000 you have to do better.

I am a frequent guest of The Pelican Grand and have had dinner at Ocean 2000 many times. Usually I am very satisfied. However this trip I had mixed experiences. Night one was enjoyable. Food(although very small entrée portions for very high prices) was good, service was friendly and efficient with every course pretty well timed. Our second night was a big disappointment. And keep in mind we were the only table outside and then two other parties arrived after us. So not a busy night. When you are spending $ 194 for dinner for three it is not unreasonable to expect good food and well timed service. This night started out OK with delicious appetizers but then we waited almost 50 minutes for our main courses. Needless to say my filet mignon was overcooked and at this point I did not have the patience to send it back. The chef sent out an appetizer while we were waiting as an apology for the delay. Nice gesture but where was our meal and what what was the problem? I couldn’t get a answer from our indifferent waiter. The next day I relayed my dissatisfaction to the manager who was also indifferent to my experience. So my advise, be prepared for inconsistency at this pricey restaurant.

Restaurant was in our hotel. Wife and I ate one night because we wanted to eat next to the beach. Atmosphere was great. Service was decent. Food was decent. I had the swordfish and wife had the salmon. Portions were small and expensive, but I’m ok with both. Just not overly impressive. It was nice because it was handy

This place tried to ruin my 30th bday. From little to no acknowledgment from the one waitress who was in the middle of a break down to the dusty light fixtures and dated ambiance. My darling and I were not even given a chance to order. We were better off doing what we did, exiting the building and the night was saved thankfully!

Sunday brunch review: I have been here twice. The first time I remember it being great, but this time was really different. First, we sat down and that was great but it took a bit of time for us to be noticed. We got noticed and got drinks ordered and headed to the buffet. The buffet: small, lacking attention, lots of non-replenished food items, looking almost old in the sense that they were not changed out, and not new items added to those that were eaten, for example: salmon was running out, egg Benedict was stale and non changed out, the prime rib was gone, the desserts were all mixed up, it was ultimately just not taken care of and not great at all, not even good. We went for seconds and got back to our table to find it cleared, no more drinks, water or coffee silver wear, just a clean off towel smack down in the middle of it, Ready to clean and that was a shocker Got them to clean it for us for the second time and we restarted by this time we were just disgusted We got the check and were ready to leave, so we get the check and see its $ 60 per person, which isn’t what the $ 55 per person website says, We just paid and left, what a terrible experience, I hope it doesn’t happen to you all, and they get it together over there, because with the right care and effort it could be great,‘it’s just clear the manager just doesn’t care.

The perfect location for Sunday brunch. Reserve ahead and request outside seating. Beautiful hotel, easy valet parking, porch overlooking the waves oozing with southern charm. Inside dining looks very pleasant and elegant, but it would be near impossible not to prefer the porch. Pretty much everything you’d want in a brunch buffet, from cold seafood to omelettes made to order, fresh waffles to carvery to fruit and salads, hot dishes and bite sized desserts. Buffet tables set up on a fairly small hallway space, but never really any traffic problem or any unreasonable wait for your next plate. Bloody mary’s thick and spicy and the glass never less than half full before it’s topped off again. Stuffed? Nice. Just sit back, enjoy the scenery, and be happy that not all Ft Lauderdale is loud drunken college kids. Delightful.

Breakfast review only. Food was really bland. $ 5 bucks for coffee? Ridiculous. Service was extremely slow. Older hostess was kind of rude. Brunch buffet was set up in the lobby and at $ 55, i didn’t feel like gathering my food in the lobby as people kept walking by and seemed unsanitary. Only good thing is the views as you are right on the beach but it can get really windy. Only place to eat so if you are staying there, you have no choice as there is nothing near by.

Can’t beat the view. Located in the Pelican Grand resort, this restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean. The prices are a bit high for what you get. We had breakfast in the morning starts at $ 10 for eggs, potatoes, toast, and bacon which was pretty good but $ 4 for crappy coffee. The service was not great in the morning but was much better in the evening at the bar. Three starts for the view.

We went for lunch today, my husband had the burger and slaw I had the Cuban with yucca fries it was delicious, so much so that we didn’t even get a picture lol… our waitress was lovely, very helpful and the ambiance is beautiful. There is out door seating but if weather doesn’t permit the inside has a view of the ocean from every seat! No need to be a guest as we were just stopping in to see the hotel because my sister is getting married there this summer. Lunch crowd was dressed casual but I couldn’t speak for dinner.

It was the last night of our vacation and we were looking to have a beautiful dinner overlooking the beach. Believe it or not, we had a hard time finding this in Florida! After Unilocaling for awhile, we decided to drive to Ft. Lauderdale and check this place out. From the photos, I expected the place to be decked out fancy. Low and behold, it’s a little room attached to a resort. I had nothing against it, but it definitely wasn’t what I expected. Also, by the time we got there the sun was down and it was raining, so the oceanfront view wasn’t even there. Service was decent and food was good. I wasn’t feeling well and had shrimp and asparagus. It was all tasty, but a bit overpriced. My boyfriend ordered the steak. He enjoyed it, but didn’t seem overly crazy about it. I think we were just expecting something huge due to the price. The resort that the restaurant is in was beautiful and I totally can see myself staying there, but driving 30 minutes to get there was a waste. Decent meal, but so not worth the trouble. Oh– and beware. Parking is not totally validated. I was under the impression that parking was free with the restaurant.

I decided to do some research for a good glamorous dinner night. I found the ocean 2000 as one hip flashy dinner restaurant to check out. We were both sold on the venue based on the pictures that were posted online showing that the restaurant was on the ocean, views were exceptional out of this world and chic-trendy Décor on the inside, and a very interesting menu. In trying to find this restaurant we were Completely misguided as it is located inside of the hotel. None the pictures alluded to this, or would prepare us for the lack of atmosphere. We were seated quickly because no one was in the restaurant at all, so there was no wait which was not what we hoped for because we were wanting a busy and bustling restaurant. We started off with two cocktails one of which was a cherry martini which had so much cherry syrup my friend was unable to even sip on the revolting taste, so it was sent back unfortunately. –Buzz kill–(themood-felt as though we were at the library). I ordered a Mojito which was sub par. It was nice though that the waitress to take the cherry martini drink back and offer another one of my friends choice. The replacement was bearable. Moving onto food, we decided to order. Then the waitress explained the style of dining to us and everything was small and Tapas sized plates. We weren’t opposed to sharing so I decided to get a chicken tapas and my friend got a salmon plate. We were shocked to find that they were significantly smaller than what would be considered tapas, furthermore the salmon had to be sent back because it was so raw it could have jumped off the plate and swam back to safety. So our dining experience came to an end, to add insult to injury the bill arrived. For two people who had to return multiple items to the bar and kitchen, we were slapped with a $ 90 bill. This was a price we were willing to pay if we had gone to the place we saw in the pictures prior to arrival, not only that we were hungry! The highlight of the night was the yummy pizza we stopped to get on the way home. Needless to say we won’t be back to Oceans, well maybe if those pictures ever come to life?

Ok place for lunch. We were staying at the Pelican Beach Club, so it was convenient to hop down for a drink and some lunch. Nice view of the beach, food was so-so. Drinks were ok, but nothing special. Price was good for the area, so I’d consider it a good value.

We stayed at the Pelican and ate here a couple of times. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. For lunch we shared the turkey avocado sandwich, prime rib sandwich, and the ground brisket burger. The Turkey was fantastic! Very flavorful. I can’t recall the sauce they had on it, but it accentuated the turkey very well. The prime rib left a lot to be desired. It was bland and dry. I couldn’t finish my share. The ground brisket burger was my favorite! Juicy, tasty goodness that I would recommend to any meat-eater! Breakfast, I had the Mediterranean Frittata. Kalamata olives, tomatoes, and artichokes scrambled into eggs served on a cast-iron skillet. Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it again!

This by far was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’m not usually one to give two stars, but this restaurant is just not up to par. For starters, the service. We approached the hostess station and were told it would be about a 15 minute wait for two of us. We were told we could wait at the bar which was on the other side of the hotel. We opted to do that and then took our drinks outside and sat on the rocking chairs on the porch facing the ocean. One thing this place has going for it is the view. It is absolutely amazing. The hostess found us and led us to our table but never provided us with menus. Finally after about 10 minutes with no menus, a waitress comes over, doesn’t introduce herself and just asks if we need menus. Turns out this was to be our waitress for the evening. We were provided with bread by the service assistants. Finally, after having our menus for quite a while, our server takes our order. I ordered the arugula salad to start and the rib eye for my entrée. My partner ordered the mussels as an appetizer and the Florida Lobster tail as an entrée. We opted to split the cast iron sides of saffron risotto and asparagus. I also ordered a glass of Pinot noir. My wine arrived right away. Our appetizers also arrived at a descent time. The arugula salad was not very good and lacked flavor. Arugula is very peppery so you normally need a cheese to combat that flavor which this lacked. Plus it was under dressed. The mussels were good; however, they came with French fries that were not fresh cut. Our waitress never once asked us if we were enjoying our meal and never once checked up on us thus far. In fact, once we received our entrees, I was left with a butter knife to cut my steak and had to ask one of the assistants for a steak knife. Dinner. My steak was very good and perfectly cooked; however, the chipotle bernaise sauce was flat out chipotle mayonnaise. My partner said the lobster was good; however, he wished it was a twin tail since it was somewhat small. It was way over priced for the size. The sides were the biggest disappointment. The asparagus was nothing out of the world but the saffron risotto was so undercooked, it was hard and crunchy. Now keep in mind that neither one of us ever gives back food, but we just had to with this one. After about 15 minutes of looking for our waitress, we asked her to take it back. That was just unacceptable. Finally dessert. We opted not to have it. Our waitress asked someone else to give us two dessert menus and someone we had never interacted with talked to us about the desserts. We just asked for the check. I was severely disappointed with this restaurant, especially considering the price of the food. The service was by far one of the worst I’ve experienced and the food was inconsistent. Definitely will not be coming back.

The view here is amazing. You are basically sitting on the beach. We made reservations for 11:00 on a Saturday thinking we would get brunch. Apparently brunch is on Sunday and breakfast ends at 11. We were seated at 11:05 and our awesome waiter James hooked us up and said«we are here to make you happy!» Best answer ever. Afterwards we enjoyed the beach umbrella and chairs and ordered drinks. The bathrooms are easily accessible. The valet is 2 hours for $ 5 if you are dining in. $ 14 all day.

We stayed at the Pelican Grand Resort and ate here multiple times during our stay. We mostly ate breakfast here and most of the things I ordered were phenomenal(waffles, french toast, eggs, fresh fruit, etc.) My only complaint about the breakfast was that they seemed to overcook some things(bacon, eggs & potatoes) I ordered my eggs over easy and both times they came out with hardly any yoke. I had the Cesar salad for lunch one time(good!) and fish tacos the other time. All 3 of us dining there had the fish tacos but only I asked for extra sauce. I must have had some type of bad reaction to it or something that did not agree with me because I felt sick immediately after and had to stay in for the night vomiting. We notified management of the issue and they were nice enough to have a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we had returned to out room. It is hard to say exactly what caused it but all I know is that I was sick as a dog & that has never happened to me before but those fish tacos were so darn good! Who knows what really happened. As for dinner, we were tired from traveling and decided to stay on the premises for our first dinner of the trip and it was easily my favorite meal of the week. We sat outside and everything was just so beautiful and relaxing from the sound of the waves to the lit tiki torches. We really took advantage of the gorgeous views this restaurant has to offer and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the ambiance. The food was delicious! We ate more of a light dinner with a bottle of wine, multiple orders of oysters & the most delicious tomato caprese salad I have ever tasted. All of the servers were very nice & friendly. I would highly recommend anyone staying at the Pelican Grand to take advantage of this place several times during their stay!!!

Sunday Brunch If you love sea food it offers great quality and variety like shrimp, mussels, crab legs, and oysters. The hot food its ok. Like bacon, sausage, etc. They have a pasta station and a omelet station! Everything was good. The service was very friendly and you get unlimited drinks! I usually come to celebrate my aunts birthday here because she loves that we can spend the whole day here at the pool, beach and restaurant. But this is my first time trying out the Sunday brunch. I will defiantly come back and have brunch and then enjoy the beach the rest of the day! I did not give then the full 5 stars because I think They could offer more variety on the hot food. I am comparing this to the brunch buffets at the boca raton beach club and The Westin Key West Resort & Marina — Sunday Brunch at Bistro 245 that is just amazing! Make reservations!!! They get full and its low season.

The Pelican Grande has got to be located in one of the best locations — right on the sand of Ft. Lauderdale beach. Whether you are staying here or coming for a meal, Ocean 2000 makes it worth the visit. You can dine outside and enjoy the spectacular view of the beach if the heat allows but if not the swank interior is a sight in itself. We came here for lunch and unbelievably the menu was very reasonably priced. You can choose from a selection of salads, sandwiches, and entrees all under $ 20. We went with the turkey burger which was surprisingly juicy, and the blackened fish tacos which were delicious. The cocktails here were also great — my favorite by far was the Hot Red Mess(absolut orient apple, apple cider, strawberry, fresh ginger). On the rocks, this drink was great. Anyway, from the service to location to venue to drinks and the food, this place is great and we will definitely be back!
